Demi Lovato is hopefully on the road to recovery.
According to Page Six and other outlets, the singer -- who uses they/them pronouns after coming out as non-binary -- returned at some point in the recent past to Utah for treatment with substance abuse.
The artist is now back home and "doing well," according to The New York Post.
No other details on Lovato's fall off the wagon have been released, but they just made news late last year for saying they are enjoying a “California sober” lifestyle.
This is a term typically used by people who do not drink alcohol, but do smoke marijuana.
The pop star, however, stretched the definition further, revealing in fall 2021 interviews that in addition to getting stoned, they still indulge in the occasional drink.
"Telling myself that I can never have a drink or smoke marijuana, I feel like that's setting myself up for failure because I am such a black and white thinker," Lovato said in a recent YouTube documentary about their life.
Lovato also complained in this film about the backlash they received for pursuing a non-traditional path to recovery
"When I do get into details with people, it just kind of opens myself up for more scrutiny than I need," they said at the time.
Perhaps following some sort of incident in early December, however, Demi walked back the whole California sober thing.
“I no longer support my California sober ways,” the 29-year-old performer shared on their Instagram Story just over a month ago. “Sober sober is the only way to be.”
We're glad the star has come around to this way of thinking.
"Demi is committed to their well-being, and throughout their life, they plan to do regular check-ins to make sure they are putting themselves first," a People Magazine insider now says.
Adds an Us Weekly source:
“Demi will have a sober living companion [with] them during this transition. It was their decision to go back to rehab.”
In 2018, Lovato nearly died from an overdose.
They said afterward that they had "brain damage" as a result after suffering three strokes and a heart attack in the wake of this overdose.
Last year, though, Demi told People that they "wouldn't change a thing" and they're "so proud of the person I am today."
Added Lovato to this publication:
"Everything had to happen in order for me to learn the lessons that I learned.
"It was a painful journey, and I look back and sometimes I get sad when I think of the pain that I had to endure to overcome what I have.
"But I don't regret anything."
The Grammy nominee was previously in a treatment center in August 2018 and also two years earlier.
“I lived fast and I was going to die young. I didn’t think I would make it to 21,” Lovato confessed to American Way in July 2016.
”So now I’m in rehab, and I thought, ‘Oh great, now the world thinks I’m just another stereotype … I didn’t go into treatment thinking, ‘OK, now I’m going to be an inspiration.’
"At times I was resentful for having that kind of responsibility, but now, it’s really become a part of my life. It holds me accountable."

Have you ever thought to yourself, "Wow, I've always really enjoyed following the shenanigans of this reality star, I just wish I could own a little tiny piece of her poop"?
Well, if you're a Teen Mom fan, it's your lucky day!
Because Farrah Abraham is selling her poop on the internet.
For real though.
It's been a long, strange journey for Farrah, this past decade or so.
She became famous for getting pregnant at 16, and she built on that fame by having a remarkably dysfunctional home life and because of the uniquely horrible fact that her child's father passed away.
Not a great start, to be fair.
While Farrah originally had dreams of opening her own restaurant, she also did some modelling on the side, and while she did take some courses at a culinary school, those dreams never came true.
She did, however, lean more into the modelling, and she started up some other hustles to make the most of her reality show fame.
She wrote a memoir, released an album along with a music video -- she even came out with her own pasta sauce.
But in 2013, she took things to another level by filming a sex tape with popular porn star James Deen and releasing it as a film titled "Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom."
And things have never been the same since.
After the sex tape got her tons of money and attention, she started selling sex toys, too, and she started doing appearances at strip clubs across the country.
Eventually she started working as a cam girl, and there have been persistent rumors for a while now that she also works as an escort.
She hasn't appeared on Teen Mom for several years now -- MTV fired her for her refusal to stop working in adult entertainment, as well as for her general inability to behave like a decent human being -- so all we can really do is watch what she chooses to share on social media to keep up with her life.
But fortunately for those of us weirdly fascinated with Farrah, she does share a lot ... perhaps too much.
She's been on OnlyFans for a while now, and in 2020 the world learned that she was selling videos of herself pooping for $100.
A lot of people thought that she'd hit an all time low with that, but now she's taking things a step further.
Because she is now filming herself pooping and then selling the poop.
In a video she posted to her OnlyFans account, Farrah gave her followers the scoop, opening things up with "Hey loves, so real quick I wanted to show you how I sh-t in a jar and send it to you!"
This is really where we are now.
"Ooh, so cool!" she exclaimed. "And you get a video of me making it for you."
She was in the bathroom while filming the video and she showed off the tiny jar she uses to hold the product, then demonstrated how things work (with her clothes on), explaining "So I take my number oop! Then I wipe my oop!"
"Then I put it in here," she continued, stuffing a (clean) cotton ball inside the jar, "then I cork it and I get Saran wrap and wrap it all up and put a special message on it, and your name."
"And, I don't know, just sending you special blessings of this year in a lucky jar."
Just in case you were concerned, she added that "I've found that the cotton ball keeps the smell the best ever," so no worries there.
She also made a reference to 90 Day Fiance star Stephanie Matto's fart jar business, joking "I just said 'oh well' about the fart and just went with the real deal!"
As of now, we're not sure of any additional details -- the video was ripped from OnlyFans and shared to social media, and it seems like she deleted it from her profile there anyway.
So if you're curious about how much a "lucky jar" like this would cost, we can't help you there.
But now you know that this is a service she offers, and that there are potentially little jars of Farrah Abraham's poop floating around out there, and isn't that enough?
As you very likely know by now, Josh Duggar groped five young girls when he was a teenager.
Four of these females were his own sisters:
Jill Duggar Dillard, Jinger Duggar Vuolo, Jessa Duggar Seewald and Joy Duggar Forsyth.
Both Josh and the women themselves have admitted that this happened.
As you may not know, however, these four siblings have all filed a lawsuit against the local Arkansas police department who leaked information about this incident to In Touch Weekly in 2015.
They believe their privacy was violated at the time.
A civil trial in this case is expected to get underway in April, although it now sounds as if the Duggars are willing to settle.
According to The Sun, paperwork has been filed that would precipitate a "settlement conference," as the outlet wrote the following this week:
"It will be conducted in such a manner as to not prejudice any party in the event settlement is not reached that all matters communicated to the undersigned (judge)... will not be disclosed to the trial judge.
"The undersigned of course will not serve as trial judge in this case.”
As a quick refresher:
In 2015, a 33-page Arkansas police report was released to the public, alleging Jim Bob Diggar confessed to authorities that Josh fondled the breasts and genitals of young girls while they were asleep in the Duggar family home years prior.
In May 2017, Jill and Jessa sued the City of Springdale, police department employees and other Defendants for invasion of privacy and more, claiming releasing the records caused "extreme mental anguish and emotional distress.”
Joy-Anna and Jinger later joined the lawsuit.
Here's maybe the most fascinating thing we just learned, however:
During a Status Conference held way back in April, one of the lawyers representing the Duggar sisters told a judge two things:
- They would NOT be seeking to recoup wages lost after TLC canceled 19 Kids and Counting in the wake of this molestation report.
- The women all believe they are permanently scarred from the release of this intel.
“We’re not going to seek any damages for lost wages, lost past earnings or lost future earnings,” the ladies’ attorney, Steven Bledsoe, told the judge during the 2021 Status Conference.
“The categories of damages we’re going to seek -- it’s basically all going to be based on the witnesses’ testimony.”
Our friends at The Ashley broke this news of the Duggars' demands.
Bledsoe stated that the Duggars simply want to win enough in damages to pay for therapy, tellingg a judge last spring:
“[We want] a life care plan involving the cost of therapeutic intervention in these four women’s lives over a period of time to address the emotional issues that are arisen from this nationwide disclosure since they’re public figures.
"And then the emotional distress-type damages and punitive damages."
To be clear, the Duggars are not saying they need psychological help for what Josh did to them -- but, rather, for this scandal to have been made public six years ago.
Elsewhere, this same lawyer basically confirmed what Derick Dillard has been saying for years:
Derick and Jill have both said many times that Jim Bob primarily profited from his family's TLC programs, ensuring his children were paid a pittance while he raked it in.
Said Bledsoe in April, after a judge wondered why the Duggar sisters were not asking for any lost wages from the cancelation of 19 Kids and Counting, which wouldn't have happened without the aforementioned leak:
"Frankly, on the way the TV show was set up, the family got most of the money.
"The girls were working, I don’t know what the numbers were, but for 15 or 20 dollars an hour.
"That aspect of the case would take more trouble to try, cost more in experts than we think makes sense because we think that the guts of the case is the emotional damages and costs to these girls.”
So, in conclusion?
The Duggars needing therapy is news. And is also very sad.
But Jim Bob being selfish and greedy and awful?
Not exactly newsworthy at this point, is it?
