Britney Spears ‘Cried For Two Weeks’ After Seeing ‘Framing Britney Spears’

A lot of people got very worked up about the documentary Framing Britney Spears, but Spears herself doesn’t appear to have been a big fan. The singer is trying to stay positive and dance and smile, but she didn’t like how she was portrayed in the doc.

Spears said “I didn’t watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in … I cried for two weeks and well …. I still cry sometimes !!!!”

Honestly, I don’t think Spears has anything to be embarrassed about. I haven’t seen anyone express anything but empathy for her and her situation, but I can see why she could be embarrassed having her business exposed like that. People feel how they feel and that’s okay.

Spears ended her post with a positive message, saying “I do what I can in my own spirituality with myself to try and keep my own joy … love … and happiness  !!!! Every day dancing brings me joy !!! I’m not here to be perfect … perfect is boring … I’m here to pass on kindness.” That’s really sweet, it’s kind of hard not to like her.

It’s a lot easier not to like her father Jamie. Britney very publicly wants Jamie permanently removed as conservator of her estate and person, and Jamie has fought the estate part of that tooth and nail. And he’s requested that his daughter pay for it.

Page Six reports Jamie is asking for upwards of three million dollars from his daughter to pay his fees as conservator, as well his legal fees to fight her efforts to be removed as conservator, including what appears to be PR efforts on behalf of Jamie. The best part is Jamie’s legal fees are three times what Britney’s are.

Honestly, I can see why Jamie is fighting so hard for this, this conservatorship thing seems like a pretty good deal. You get over $200,000 a year to approve things someone wants to buy, and when they say “I would like anyone in the world other than you to be in charge of my finances and career” you say fight them in court and make them pay for your lawyers and PR for how bad you look? Why wouldn’t you do your best to stay on that gravy train?

I mean, aside from the fact that your daughter is miserable and probably isn’t very happy with you. But I doubt those are pressing concerns for Jamie Spears.

Britney Spears: I Cried for Two Weeks After the Framing Britney Documentary

As much as Britney Spears wants to tell her own story to the world, her conservatorship makes that difficult.

Which has left others to tell her story on her behalf ... for better or for worse.

For the first time, Britney is publicly responding to the Framing Britney Spears documentary.

This is a sensitive, painful topic for her.

Britney Spears in a Quiet Moment

Britney Spears took to Instagram on Tuesday night for her first-ever direct response to the documentary.

"My life has always been very speculated ... watched ... and judged." her caption begins.

Britney, who was a child actress before launching her music career, emphasized that it was "really my whole life!!!"

Britney Spears Says Oops, I Burned Down My Gym

"For my sanity I need to dance to @iamstevent every night of my life," Britney added.

She referred to the dancing, done in an accompanying video, as what she needs "to feel wild and human and alive!!!"

Britney is an excellent performer, but sometimes you just need to spin around in your home, you know?

Britney Spears is Filled with Cheer

"I have been exposed my whole life," Britney acknowledged.

She recalled has she has spent almost all of her life "performing in front of people!!!"

Child stardom is no joke and exacts a toll even without going on to super-stardom.

Britney Spears Looks Adorable in Yellow

"It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability," Britney expressed.

She explained "'cause I've always been so judged... insulted... and embarrassed by the media..."

"And," Britney lamented, "I still am till this day!!!!"

Britney Spears in a Bikini on a Peacock Float

"As the world keeps on turning and life goes on," Britney affirmed.

Britney added: "We still remain so fragile and sensitive as people!!!"

And then, as for the documentary itself, Britney shared her feelings on it.

Britney Spears' At-Home Fashion Show

"I didn't watch the documentary," Britney revealed.

"But from what I did see of it," she shared, "I was embarrassed by the light they put me in ..."

The documentary did re-hash some humiliating moments, even if the intention was not to attack her.

Britney Spears Glory

"I cried for two weeks," Britney shared with her fans and followers.

"And well," Britney admitted, "I still cry sometime!!!!"

(Yes, I have had "Lucky" playing nonstop in my head since I read this)

Britney Spears in Japan

"I do what I can in my own spirituality with myself," Britney detailed in her caption.

She wrote that she does what she can "to try and keep my own joy ... love ... and happiness!!!!"

"Every day dancing brings me joy!!!" Britney declared.

Britney Spears in Yellow

"I'm not here to be perfect ... perfect is boring ..." Britney announced.

She very sweetly concluded: "I'm here to pass on kindness "

Truly, it is difficult to think of a kinder soul than Britney.

Britney Spears Models an Off-the Shoulder White Blouse

The documentary did play back some heartbreaking and cruel moments.

For example, there was 2003's Diane Sawyer interview where Britney was asked what she "did" to lose Justin Timberlake.

And in 2006, now-disgraced NBC host Matt Lauer asked humiliating questions about Britney's then-nascent parenting skills.

Britney Spears in Her Favorite Dress

That said ... this is one of those cases where she might be happier if she watched the whole thing.

However, sometimes people refuse to watch documentaries or biographical movies even when they are portrayed positively.

The reason? Well, sometimes watching it is too painful, no matter the intentions of the piece of media.

Britney Spears Smiles in Miami

HollywoodLife has reported on Britney's well-being in recent weeks.

"Britney has been doing really well despite the constant battle over her conservatorship," the alleged insider reported.

"She is doing everything she can to focus on her health," the source added, "and Sam is 100% behind her daily routine and workouts."

Britney Spears Works Out

"She has been eating really well and doing a lot of cooking with Sam," the insider reported.

The source claimed: "She also has been writing a lot and looking to the future."

"Britney feels a ton of support from fans," the insider added.

Britney With Sam

"Those closest to Britney prefer she didn’t read comments on social media in case people are unkind," the source alleged.

"But," the insider claimed, "she insists because she wants to know what people are saying."

The report concluded: "Her team wants her to thrive and feels the comments can be more harmful."

Britney Spears Disappears From Instagram; Fans Demand Answers From Sam Asghari

Britney Spears' Instagram page has been a subject of major controversy in recent months, and diehard fans have been keeping an eye on her activity with the vigilance one would expect from self-appointed protectors searching for signs of distress.

Is Britney really sending coded messages to her from fans via cryptic social media posts?

It's a theory that would have sounded absurd not too long ago -- but these days, it seems all too believable.

Britney Spears Shares New Bangs, New Haircut

The combination of the recent New York Times documentary about Spears, and months of bizarre drama involving her online presence have put the #FreeBritney movement on high alert.

We now have a situation in which tens of thousands of Spears fans have become convinced that Britney is being held captive.

They're convinced that the conservatorship controlled by Britney's father, Jamie Spears, is being used to silence the pop icon and prevent her from communicating with her fans.

Britney Spears Framed With Light

Earlier this week, Spears didn't post anything on Instagram for a period of four days.

In normal cases, there's nothing strange about a celebrity taking a few days off from sharing content.

But Britney's situation is anything but normal.

When she returned to Instagram, she did so with a strange post featuring three different versions of the photo below, each with slight adjustments in color and contrast.

Britney Returns

"RED !!!! PS … the project PINK will be revealed next week," Spears captioned the photos.

The situation left #FreeBritney advocates feeling deeply concerned.

And many of them are convinced that one man, and one man alone is in a position to help Spears out of her current predicament.

Britney has been dating Sam Asghari for several years now, and many believe that he's the only one who's truly in her corner these days.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari Get Silly

And they're upset by what they feel is a lack of effort on Asghari's part to either spring Britney from her parental prison, or tell the world what he knows about her plight.

Asghari shared the photo below this week, along with the most innocuous caption imaginable.

"Sunday stroll wearing my comfortable tracksuit," he captioned the pic.

Sam Asghari on IG

Despite the laid-back nature of the post, Asghari's comments section quickly erupted with criticism from concerned Britney fans.

"How do you still have any fans? Clearly you ignore every question asked about Britney, the person you supposedly love, and act like nothing strange is going on with her life," one person asked

"You could be a major advocate for her yet you choose to stay silent," another chimed in.

Sam Asghari Gives Britney Spears a Birthday Kiss

"Either you're involved with the evil or you just don't give a shit. Pretty fucking disgusting. Looks and money don't matter if your heart and soul is filled with rot."

Now, it's important to remember that, for all we know, Sam is doing his best to come to Britney's aid.

Perhaps he knows that if he speaks out, the powers that be will prevent him from having any contact with Spears, possibly preventing him from rescuing her.

Sam Asghari

Or ... maybe he's exploiting her and benefiting from the situation like every other person in her life.

We have no way of knowing for sure.

Which is exactly what makes Britney's situation so terrifying.

Jamie Spears’ Lawyer Says Britney Can End Her Conservatorship at Any Time, She Just Must Not Want To

Apparently, all Britney Spears has to do to end her conservatorship is ask. She apparently just hasn’t gotten around to it.

At least that’s what her father’s lawyer told People.

“Any time Britney wants to end her conservatorship, she can ask her lawyer to file a petition to terminate it; she has always had this right but in 13 years has never exercised it,” Thoreen claims. “Britney knows that her Daddy loves her, and that he will be there for her whenever and if she needs him, just as he always has been — conservatorship or not.”

See, that’s weird because she very much did ask for Jamie to be removed as her conservator and he and his lawyers fought tooth and nail against it and tried to have the co-conservator Spears asked for by name removed.

Filing a petition to end the conservatorship and ending it are two very different things, and I get the feeling her father’s legal team would probably fight against ending it. If the goal here was respecting Britney’s wishes, her father could have just willingly stepped down.

Britney might actually like the idea of having someone watch out for her best interests and looking after her money, but she clearly doesn’t want her dad to be the one to it.

So here’s my idea: get her sister Jamie to replace her father. Just sneak it in since they have the same name. Reveal it like it’s a plot twist in an Ocean’s 11 film. Just have Jamie Lynn rappel into the courtroom holding a contract and go “not so fast!”

Okay, that probably won’t work, but it seems like the most feasible option here.

Congressman Wants Britney Spears to Testify on Capital Hill

Britney Spears’ conservatorship is on the minds of a lot of people recently. Is Spears really in such dire condition mentally that she’s unable to decide how to live her life or be trusted with her own money? If she doesn’t want her father Jamie to be her conservator, why is she having so much trouble having him removed?

Republican congressmen Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan would like Britney to talk about her conservatorship to the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives.

It might sound crazy or like a stunt, but I think they’re actually trying to do something good here and for the right reasons. Here’s what they said in the letter they wrong to Judiciary Committee chair Jerry Nader asking for the hearing, via NBC News.

“The House Committee on the Judiciary is charged with safeguarding the rights affording to Americans by the U.S. Constitution. These rights include having the free will to guide one’s own affairs and the legal autonomy over one’s own finances. When situations suggest the unjust deprivation of those rights by the government, we have an obligation to conduct oversight and explore potential remedies,” the letter states.

“In recent years, there has been growing public concern about the use of conservatorships to effectively deprive individuals of personal freedoms at the behest of others through the manipulation of the courts,” the letter, submitted on Mar. 8, continues.

“The most striking example is perhaps the case of multi-platinum performing artist Britney Spears,” Gaetz and Jordan write.

It’s understandable that some people are stricken with such debilitating problems that they really do need someone to manage their affairs for them. But I really question if Britney Spears or Amanda Bynes are among them, and if the courts would think they need conservators if they had the exact same issues but were poor.

A conservatorship is a serious thing and should only be used as a last resort when it’s absolutely necessary, and there should probably be mandatory evaluations every six months with an eye towards ending the conservatorship to make sure people don’t end up stuck in them when they don’t need to be.

And honestly, good for Representatives Gaetz and Jordan for taking this issue up.

Britney Spears Supported by Teenage Sons in Rare, Wholesome Photo

It didn't take the Framing Britney Spears documentary for fans to know that she's facing injustice.

And Britney herself knows better than anyone how unfair her situation is.

But as she told fans after the documentary aired, she's focused upon living her life.

And part of that means spending time with her amazing sons.

Britney Spears Looking Hot in Japan

Britney Spears has always placed a tremendous emphasis upon respecting her sons' autonomy.

Because of that, public photos of Britney and her boys, both of whom are now teenagers, are uncommon.

Over the weekend, a photo was shared by Instagram user @prestonandjayden of Britney with her boys.

Britney Spears with sons Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline

Given the scenery and Britney's outfit, this likely dates back to a walk in December.

At that time, Britney shared a photo of herself in the same clothing and location, alone.

It's so sweet to see her with her and her boys, who are growing up before our very eyes.

Sean Preston, Britney Spears, and Jayden James at Disneyland

Sean Preston is now 15 and Jayden James is 14.

We get that Britney's five feet and four inches isn't exactly the most daunting height milestone.

But it's still adorable to see both boys undeniably taller than their mother. That's always a big step.

Sean Preston and Jayden James Dine at Disneyland

We don't know which canyon Britney and her boys (and the photographer, likely her comically handsome boyfriend Sam Asghari) were hiking in.

It's likely not too far from her Thousand Oaks home.

But frankly, we don't want to know. The more peace of mind and privacy that Britney has, the happier that we all are.

Now, some who looked at that photo might glance around and wonder why they were wearing masks.

They're out in the middle of nowhere and they're (seemingly) a small group of people who are family.

First of all, you never know who you're going to run into or what will happen on a walk. Bring a mask.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari, Masked at the Beach

But second of all, Britney and Sam addressed this in the past after wearing masks on the beach.

They know that Britney's Instagram is viewed by millions of fans, and Britney takes her fame seriously.

So she and Sam wore masks when out and about, even in places where they could have removed them to snap selfies.

As we mentioned, Britney has always prioritized her sons and their well being.

When they were very young, she let her sons opt out of public appearances, letting them leave the spotlight when overwhelmed.

This isn't just news that has circulated -- there's video of it happening live at public events.

Brtiney Spears: Quarantine Six-Pack

In the autumn of 2019, her awful father reportedly broke down a door to physically assault Sean Preston after an argument, shaking the boy.

Britney and their father, Kevin Federline, took swift action to protect their sons from their grandfather.

That started with a painful modification to Britney's custody agreement, giving both boys more time with their dad -- out of Jamie's reach.

Beyond that, Kevin sought and was granted a three-year restraining order on behalf of both of his sons.

Jamie cannot go near either now-teenage grandson until late 2022.

Given reports of Jamie's health in recent years, many fans hope that the boys will be safe from his wrath for life.

Here’s Why Britney Spears Shaved Her Head All Those Years Ago

There has been a lot of ink spilled about Britney Spears and the way the media treated her during her very public mental breakdown that lead to her current conservatorship. The one thing I haven’t seen nearly enough is “South Park was right,” even though basically everyone takes the stance now that only South Park took at the time, which is that the way the media covered Britney was gross.

Britney’s New Look mixed the media’s coverage of Britney with the short story The Lottery, which details a town in modern America (at the time) that practices human sacrifice in order to ensure a good harvest. The basic message is the only reason to treat a human being the way we treated Britney Spears is to drive them to their death.

It’s not entirely insane to think that we as a society would enjoy this, by the way: when Shirley Jackson first wrote The Lottery in 1948, most of the letters she received about it were asking where the lottery is held so they can go and watch. They thought it was real and didn’t want to stop it, they wanted to watch someone be stoned to death.

It turns out that Parker and Stone were also right about the cause of Britney’s actual new look. In the cartoon, she shoots herself in the head after Cartman and the crew claim to be Britney’s children because she’s distraught that they aren’t. She’s also upset that the paparazzi aren’t going to leave her alone, but let’s give South Park some credit here.

As it turns out, Britney’s ex-husband not letting her see her kids was the incident that lead to her shaving her head.

Here’s what The Daily Mirror reported about the new information that’s surfaced about the incident.

Her request was reportedly refused, and the angry and frustrated star apparently then drove to a random hair salon and asked hairdresser Esther Tognozz to shave her head in front of more than 70 members of the paparazzi.

Tognozz tried to talk her out of it, but once her back was turned, Britney grabbed the clippers and sheared her locks herself.

What’s really interesting is Britney’s reasoning. Here’s what Emily Wynne-Hughes said about her discussion with Britney about it at the time. Wynne-Hughes tattoo studio was Britney’s next stop after the hairdresser.

“I noticed her hair was gone. I remember asking her, ‘why do you shave your head?’ And her answer was a bit weird,” the tattooist says.

“It was, you know, ‘I just don’t want anybody, anybody touching my head. I don’t want anyone touching my hair. I’m sick of people touching my hair.'”

That should be chillingly familiar to anyone who knows someone who perhaps developed an eating disorder as a way to deal with trauma: wanting to be in control of something. She could shave her head and no one could stop her, and she felt like she wasn’t in control of anything so she needed to do something, anything to feel just a modicum of control.

That’s what was going on in Britney Spears’ head when she shaved her head, and the only people who had any empathy for her here were Craig Ferguson and Matt Parker and Trey Stone.

Britney Spears Responds to Documentary: I’m Living My Life and Trying to Heal

On Friday, the world watched Framing Britney Spears with horror. Many cried during the grim, New York Times-produced documentary.

Fans and celebrities alike have showered Britney with support as she remains under her father's thumb.

Now, Britney has broken her silence -- speaking for the first time in a long time about something other than dancing, music, or her workouts.

Don't get us wrong, she's talking about an old performance ... but Britney had a lot more to say, as you can see:

Britney Spears Framed With Light

"Can’t believe this performance of Toxic is from 3 years ago!!!" Britney tweeted alongside a throwback video.

"I’ll always love being on stage," she affirmed, "but I am taking the time to learn and be a normal person."

Britney explained to her fans and followers: "I love simply enjoying the basics of every day life!!!!"

Britney Spears tweet - I am taking my time to learn and be a normal person

"Each person has their story and their take on other people’s stories!!!!" Britney acknowledged in a follow-up tweet.

"We all have so many different bright beautiful lives!!!" she noted.

"Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person's life," Britney concluded, "it is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens."

Britney Spears tweet - each person has their story and their take on other people's stories

Britney is saying a lot right there in the aftermath of the documentary, the outpouring of support, and even her boyfriend taking a public jab at her toxic dad.

Let's break down her message and then discuss what she means.

Britney has not performed or toured for years, now -- but she's saying that this, at least, is her choice.

This matches will with previous reports about Britney which have said that she is refusing to perform while her father, Jamie Spears, remains her conservator.

That's no idle gossip, either -- that came directly from her attorney to the court several months ago.

But it is good to know that she is enjoying her time at home.

Britney is playing catch-up on living her life as a person.

Many of Britney's fans can likely relate to that -- with some having had later starts in life after coming out as LGBTQ+ and living authentically for the first time.

Others may have lost years of their teens and twenties to mental illness before finding a treatment and coping strategies that worked for them.

In Britney's case, mental health and toxic parents are clearly a factor, but so is the reality that she became a world superstar in her teens.

She also became a mother in her early twenties, amidst constant hounding by the media -- and by those who were supposed to be on her team.

So it is more than understandable that she is making use of her time and figuring out what she wants to do in her free time now that she actually has it.

Moving on to her second statement, it's fairly ambiguous ... and deliberately so.

Britney is clearly acknowledging that different people have different opinions on what they have witnessed in other people's lives.

She could be talking about how fans see her, how former acquaintances (who spoke in the documentary) see her, or both.

Some fans have wondered if Britney wrote that to claim that the documentary is misrepresenting her struggle.

Others have even speculated that this is Britney's way of asking people to no longer fight for her autonomy.

Is that what's happening? Is Britney happier with her father controlling her life through this dubious conservatorship?

There's a subtle clue in Britney's message that lets us know that she's not asking fans to ignore the documentary or end the #FreeBritney movement.

That clue? That Britney could literally have just written as much in her tweets and on the matching Instagram post.

She did not, and that was a choice. Britney said what she meant to say, and if she held back at all, it was likely erring on the side of not pissing off her dad ... even more.

On Tuesday, just hours before Britney spoke out, her hunky boyfriend Sam Asghari slammed her father.

Sam referred to the widely reviled Jamie Spears as a "dick," slamming him for being controlling.

Sam didn't say much more, but clearly, if Britney wanted her fans to drop #FreeBritney, she or Sam or both of them could just say so.

Britney Spears’ Boyfriend Says Her Dad Jamie is a ‘Total Dick’

I think everyone looking in from the outside at Britney Spears’ conservatorship drama believes that she should be making her own decisions about her life and should not legally require her father’s permission.

Her boyfriend believes the same thing, as reported by TMZ.

Sam Asghari posted to his Instagram story that he has “zero respect” for Spears’ father, saying he’s “trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles in our way.” He also says he thinks “Jamie is a total dick” and that he tries not to speak out about it because he and Britney want their privacy.

A documentary called Framing Britney Spears aired on FX over the weekend and basically everyone in the world is invested in this and on Spears’ side now. CBS had a brief rundown of the support she’s been getting from other celebrities.

Comedian Fortune Feimster tweeted: “I watched the NYT doc on Britney Spears and it is SO messed up that they aren’t letting this very successful adult woman be in charge of her own life. She’s made it very clear she does not want her dad to have any part of her finances and life decisions. That should be enough.”

Talk show host Tamron Hall said “it’s an understatement” to call the documentary “heartbreaking.”

Miley Cyrus gave a shout-out to Spears during her post-Super Bowl performance, saying: “We love Britney.”

Other celebrities, including Andy Cohen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Meghan McCain and Bette Midler, shared their support by tweeting “Free Britney.”

As I’ve said in the past, Britney Spears is almost 40 and she doesn’t appear to be so mentally impaired that she needs a conservator. She hit a rough patch over a decade ago, and even then she was coherent enough to save How I Met Your Mother from cancellation in an episode with the ridiculous premise that there’s someone on the planet who finds Sarah Chalke more attractive than Britney Spears. I think she can handle making her own decisions. We let Donald Trump run a country for four years, we can let Britney Spears manage her own life and career.

Britney Spears Has a New Single, But She May Never Perform Again Until Her Father is Removed as Her Conservator

Britney Spears really wants to fire her father.

We know that Britney has been trying to have her father removed as her conservator or at least saddled with a co-conservator, primarily because he’s not consulting with her before making business decisions.

The Associated Press reports that her lawyer told a judge she is not going to perform again if her father isn’t removed as her conservator.

“My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father,” Ingham told the judge. “She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career.”

It’s actually a vinyl pressing of an unreleased track Spears recorded in 2016, but the timing is not great here. Read the room, Urban Outfitters.
Also, why is Urban Outfitters making records? Did they confuse it for a painting they didn’t pay the artist to use?
The court denied Spears’ request to have her father removed as a conservator on Wednesday, though her legal team plans to file further petitions on her behalf. In good news for Spears, the court-appointed Bessemer Trust as co-conservator, but I think we’re past that.
The real issue appears to be that she doesn’t want him to resume control over her non-financial decisions, like if she can get married. Jamie Spears stepped down from that role temporarily but Britney is looking to get his replacement made permanent, which seems like a really good idea.
Or just end her conservatorship altogether, that’s also an option.

#FreeBritney: Britney Spears Has Had Enough of Father Jamie, Wants Him Off Conservatorship Entirely

Britney Spears has officially had enough of her father. The singer has been saying for a while that she’s okay with her father being her conservator as long as he has a co-conservator but now TMZ is reporting she wants him removed entirely.

Basically, Britney wants someone who is working in her best interest and not their own best interest, which is an entirely reasonable thing to desire.

Britney Spears Disappears From Instagram as Father Insists She’s Not Comatose

Another day, another frightening development in the increasingly sad saga of Britney Spears.

If you've been following the latest news of the pop icon, then you're aware that Britney's fans have become seriously concerned for her well-being -- and with good reason.

Britney Is Serious

Many of their fears stem from the Britney's conservatorship, which has been in place since 2008, and has allegedly deprived her of her basic rights and freedoms.

It's common knowledge that Britney does not have control over her $60 million fortune or major decisions regarding her career.

Now, fans fear that she's not even permitted to leave the house or communicate with her adoring public.

Britney Looks Tired

The concerns that Britney is being held captive stem largely from her Instagram posts, in which she frequently behaves in an erratic fashion.

Her short video clips are often accompanied by nonsensical captions, in which the singer makes frequent, confusing references to colors and plants.

Some fans believe these are clandestine cries for help, that Spears is communicating with her fans through coded messages.

Britney ... Or Her Lookalike?

Others believe that they're simply an indication of a woman who is suffering from mental illness and not receiving the treatment she needs.

Whatever the case, both groups agree that the latest development is the most troubling of all -- Spears has disappeared from Instagram entirely.

After months of posting every day -- often several times a day -- Britney has been silent on the site for nearly a week.

Brit Spears Pic

Her unexpected absence comes as her latest legal battle is intensifying.

Back in August, Spears lost a court case against her father, Jamie Spears., as a judge ruled that her controversial conservatorship should continue until at least February of 2021.

Now, Britney and her legal team are appealing the decision in what some observers have described as a literal fight for her life.

Brtiney Spears: Quarantine Six-Pack

In one of the case's most dramatic moments, Britney's lawyers claimed that she's mentally unfit to give testimony in court, comparing her to a comatose patient whose fate is being decided without her understanding or consent.

Now, Jamie Spears is lashing out against that description and claiming that he can prove his daughter is perfectly aware of what's happening.

According to a new report from TMZ, Jamie is using the upcoming election as proof of Britney's mental competence, pointing out that she still retains certain rights, including the right to vote.

Britney With a Flower Crown

In recently filed court docs, Jamie lashes out at Britney's attorney, Sam Ingham, arguing that he does not have the right to be her "exclusive voice."

The bickering involves Britney's decision to retire from performing, something her father claims she's capable of explaining to the court herself.

When a judge asked why Britney has not filed a declaration about her career intent, Ingham argued that she's not mentally equipped to do so.

Britney Spears Has Lost Weight in Quarantine

Ironically, the situation finds Jamie arguing in favor of his daughter's mental competence and pushing for her to testify in court, a development that would surely attract a great deal of media attention to the case.

As for Britney's disappearance from Instagram, she might be keeping a low profile on the advice of her attorneys.

Either way, you can be sure the #FreeBritney community will be paying close attention if and when Britney takes the stand.

Britney Spears is Trapped in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ According to Makeup Artist

Margaret Atwood wrote The Handmaid’s Tale in 1985 based mainly on the idea that the growing power of the religious right under Ronald Reagan could turn America into a theocracy like Saudi Arabia; it was never something likely to happen, but Atwood based her books on how it might and what it would look like if Christianity were the basis of an absolute totalitarian state.

The one thing everyone knows about the book is the Handmaid’s themselves, who in Atwood’s story are the concubines of elite men assigned to bear their children. This is how Britney Spears’ makeup artist Maxi describes the singers’ life to Us Magazine.

“I can tell you what they’re still controlling to this day is whether she has a baby or not, whether she gets married or not, who her friends are, and those are some big things,” Maxi claimed during a recent episode of the “Calababes Podcast,” released on Thursday, October 22. “We’re talking about some Handmaid’s Tale-type things to keep her from having a baby. Like, we’re talking … I can’t detail it and I’m not gonna specifically say, but I will say for sure, she would’ve had a baby by now. She would’ve probably been married to [boyfriend] Sam [Asghari] by now. She would have groups of friends around her.”

That’s not exactly what The Handmaid’s Tale is like, but it also doesn’t sound great. I don’t know how you control her having a baby, is she being forced to take birth control? Is Jamie running in and ripping her boyfriend’s penis out of her vagina so she doesn’t get pregnant? If there’s one thing everyone should have learned when they were in high school it’s that parents can’t stop their children from having sex.

Maxi also detailed how Jamie tried to keep Britney from dating Sam to begin with.

“At that time, she was under the conservatorship basically controlled by the father, but even at that time she was able to bring in Sam as a boyfriend,” he alleged. “Now Sam was put through hell by the father and I can’t detail all the things that he went through, but he went through a lot of hell to even be with her.”

It’s more mounting evidence that Spears shouldn’t be in conservatorship and if she is, her father shouldn’t be the conservator. She probably does need some help with some decisions, but she can hire people she trusts to help her make those decisions instead of the court allowing her father to make all of them for her.

Britney Spears: Are Fans Right to Be Concerned About Her Bizarre Dance Videos?

If you follow her on any social media platform, then by now, you're certainly aware that there's been a tremendous outpouring of concern for Britney Spears.

Much of the worry is a result of Britney's legal battle against her father, Jamie Spears.

Britney Looks Tired

For most of her adult life, Britney has been under the control of a court-ordered conservatorship.

The arrangement -- which is the result of very public mental health issues the singer suffered in 2008 -- essentially gives her father full control of her life and, crucially, her finances.

Now, many fans fear that the situation is resulting in a resurfacing of the mental health issues that led to the conservatorship in the first place.

Britney Models

Recent videos that Britney has posted on TikTok and Instagram have led to concerns that she's deeply stressed and not receiving the kind of care she needs.

Some of these videos contain what fans believe to be coded cries for help -- captions that contain strange language, such as frequent, confusing references to colors and flowers.

While it's certainly possible that Britney is covertly sending messages to her fans, the other prevailing theory seems more likely:

Britney ... Or Her Lookalike?

Many believe that Spears is having difficulty handling the dual pressures of Covid and her seemingly never-ending court battle against her father.

They point to her disheveled appearance in recent videos, as well as the odd captions that Spears has written to accompany some of her posts.

These concerns have been reflected in the comments left by her Instagram followers.

"There is legit something wrong with her," one fan recently wrote.

"Britney what is happeninggggg," another added.

Another said that Spears' routines are "so uncomfortable to watch," adding that "all her dances look the same."

One commenter took the criticism a step further, writing:

"Not gonna lie it looks like she been doing some meth."

Admittedly, this is not the Britney we're used to seeing.

But it's possible that there's a simple explanation for the unusual looks that she's been sporting in recent pics and videos.

"I know I’m barefoot and my hair is once again a hot mess!!!!" Britney captioned a recent post.

"If you only knew what it’s like dancing in heels every night in Vegas and spending hours getting my hair and makeup perfect ... only then would you understand why my feet go to the holy ground whenever they can and how free my hair feels with no hairspray !!!!"

Britney Spears is Very Short

Is there a chance that these concerns have been overblown?

Is Britney just enjoying honing her craft in the comfort of her own home?

It's certainly possible, but you can be sure fans won't ease up until Britney is granted permission to give an interview explaining the tumultuous year she's had.

Britney Spears Rants In a Bikini, Covers Tattoo, Leaves Fans Concerned

For several months now, Britney Spears' Instagram posts have been creating concern among fans.

It's a stressful time for Britney, as the singer is involved in a legal battle against her father, and at stake is nothing less than her freedom.

Spears has been controlled by a conservatorship for most of her adult life -- ever since she suffered her infamous "meltdown" and shaved her head back in 2007.

Now, it seems she's simultaneously fighting for her freedom and enduring another episode related to her mental health.

And the efforts from her team to keep the situation under wraps are, ironically, alerting more people to Britney's instability.

Several times in recent weeks, Spears has addressed her followers in brief Instagram videos in which she seems to be reading from a script.

The last one led to comments that Britney is behaving in a manic fashion and seems to be making the videos against her will.

Spears' latest video is no different, in that the singer once again appears disheveled and eager to get off camera.

"So, this is the exact same bathing suit I wore like three days ago to the beach, but I said hey, why not give it another shot," Britney, clad in a faux-snakeskin bikini, tells the camera.

"But, while I'm at it...I just wanted to let you guys know the five most important things that you need to bring when you go to the beach," the singer continues.

"A towel, oil, sunscreen, a dog, and a hat."

After enumerating the items one needs for a day at the beach, Britney curiously says, "I'm going to go to my jacuzzi now," and walks off camera.

Like so many of her recent clips, this one seems to be an attempt at humor that missed the mark.

Fans were quick to point out that Spears was wearing a white bandage on her wrist, seemingly in an effort to cover the dice tattoo she got as a tribute to ex-husband Kevin Federline.

"Something isn't right. Someone must be scripting her because she sounds very unnatural and very ... childlike," one fan commented.

"The wristband makes me uneasy," another wrote.

"This is not normal....at all," a third chimed in.

Also creating concern is a recent video in which Spears gyrates in skimpy attire to the tune of Madonna's 1990 hit “Justify My Love.”

This one seemed less coerced than the other, but Britney's unusual attire and dance moves left many of her Instagram followers concerned for her well-being.

"Someone has got to be drugging her," one person wrote.

"This is terrifying," another commented.

"This is painful to watch," a third remarked.

One fan seemed to speak for millions of Britney fans when she offered a simple statement of concern:

"Please let us know how we can best support you during this time," she wrote.

No doubt many fans are feeling frustrated from watching their favorite pop icon endure such a difficult time in the public eye, especially since it seems as though Britney is not getting the help she needs.

All we can do is hope that there's someone in Spears' corner who truly has her best interests at heart.

Britney Spears Expands Legal Team, Hopefully With People Who Won’t Call Her a Coma Patient

Britney Spears has been involved with a protracted legal battle with her father Jamie over the future of her conservatorship; it appears that the singer wants it ended but if norm she doesn’t want her father to be the sole conservator. Spears’ fans have been vocal in wanting her conservatorship ended, and her friends and other family have generally sided with the “Free Britney” movement, which lends it a lot of credence.

Variety reports that Spears racked up another win with the court accepting her petition to expand her legal team.

Britney, 38, is seeking to have Jamie removed from her conservatorship, which has been in effect for 12 years. She was not present for the latest hearing, although though her mother, Lynne Spears, Jamie and her attorney, Samuel Ingham were.

Jamie had opposed Britney’s petition, citing the cost of adding more lawyers.

Jamie Spears gets paid over $10k a month to be his daughter’s conservator, so if finances are a problem then maybe he could give that up. It seems weird that Jamie is in a position to oppose someone hiring more lawyers for a legal fight against him.

Personally, I think Britney should be able to do whatever she wants here. I don’t see why she needs to be in conservatorship and if it’s voluntary like she says, it can just be ended and she can hire someone trustworthy to manage her finances, she doesn’t need to be legally required to do so.

Britney Spears’ Lawyers Say She’s Mentally Unfit For Court, Compare Singer to Comatose Patient

We've known for quite some time that something is seriously amiss in the life of pop icon Britney Spears.

And now, it looks as though the situation might be even more serious than we previously thought.

Britney Spears is Very Short

According to a new report from TMZ, attorneys for Spears say the singer is mentally unfit to sign a sworn declaration in her ongoing court case against her father.

Britney lost her latest legal battle against her dad, and her team is currently appealing the decision.

At issue is the question of who will head the team that manages everything from Britney's finances to her travel plans.

Britney on Instagram In 2020

Spears is fighting for her right to hire a conservator of her own choosing, rather than re-hiring Andrew Wallet, a man who was chosen by her father and was forced to step down last year due to health issues.

Earlier in the process, Britney's lawyers stated that she cannot afford Wallet, as she plans to retire from performing, which is her primary source of income.

The judge in the case asked for a sworn declaration of Britney's intention to retire, and that's when her lawyers revealed that she's not up to the task.

Brit Spears Pic

Attorneys for Jamie Spears pressed the issue, with Jamie insisting that Britney has every intention of resuming to her Las Vegas residency once the pandemic subsides.

His team argued that all claims to the contrary from Britney's lawyers are just hearsay.

It was then that Britney's head legal counsel, Sam Ingham, compared her to a comatose patient.

Britney Spears in Yellow

To be clear, Ingham is not saying that Spears is comatose; he was simply making an analogy, arguing that she's just as incapable of comprehending a sworn statement about her career.

Obviously, this a worrisome development, and it's likely to galvanize the growing #FreeBritney movement on social media.

For several months now, fans of the singer have been arguing that Britney is being held captive by her father and others who seek to control her fortune.

Britney Spears Wears a White Flower

They claim that she's been sending coded messages to her fans via Instagram as a last-ditch cry for help.

That may sound outlandish, but some of their suspicions appear to be supported by recent developments in court.

For example, while Jamie Spears has asked that the proceedings be made private, attorneys for Britney have asked that the hearing take place in open court.

Brtiney Spears: Quarantine Six-Pack

It seems they know they have the public's support, and they want Britney's fans to know exactly what's going on with her conservatorship.

Over the weekend, Britney took a trip with Sam Asghari, her boyfriend of several years.

Fans commented on the pics, asking Asghari to intervene and help Britney free herself from her father.

Britney and Sam Board a Plane

The model didn't respond, but it seems like he has little influence over the situation.

Sadly, for all the concern for Britney on social media, it looks as though her fate will remain in the hands of a judge who has previously ruled against her.

We'll keep you updated on this developing situation as more information becomes available.

Britney Spears’ Lawyer Says She’s as Mentaly Fit as a Coma Patient

I never thought Britney Spears was a genius, but I also never thought she had the brain of a coma patient. Her lawyer apparently disagrees.

TMZ reports that Spears’ lawyer compared her to someone who was comatose in court when asked if she could submit a signed declaration of her wishes for her conservatorship.

The judge asked Ingham if Britney would sign a declaration so there’d be a first-hand account of her feelings. Ingham said Britney lacked the capacity to sign a declaration, and likened her to a comatose patient. He was not saying she is comatose by any means, but he used it by way of example to show she was not capable of signing a legal document. Ingham said even comatose patients can have their lawyers speak for them.

Now, I’m neither a lawyer nor a mental health practitioner, but as an opinion writer, I don’t buy it. If a family court judge can ask a six-year-old which parent they want to live with, then this judge can ask Britney what it is she wants.

Now, her lawyer should have her best interest in mind, and I have no evidence that he doesn’t or that he isn’t working on her behalf and for what she actually wants. But I also don’t think Britney’s capacity is that of a coma patient; I understand what he was saying, that it isn’t necessary for her to submit a declaration, but I also don’t understand what the issue would be with her submitting said declaration or being questioned by the judge directly.

The key issue here is that Spears’ lawyer has told the court she wants to be done performing and her father wants to tart her up and push her up on stage, which makes sense because I think how she got on The Mickey Mouse Club.

Britney Spears Begs Fans: Help Me Escape My Father!

Britney Spears turns 39 in December.

Yet for most of her adult life, the icon has been under the control of a conservatorship that denies her many of the basic freedoms enjoyed by most grownups.

By court order, Britney is unable to make any major decisions regarding her vast fortune or the welfare of her children without consulting a team of overseers headed by her father.

The arrangement has been in place since the time of Spears' well-publicized breakdown back in 2007, but it's been back in the news in recent months for a number of reasons.

For starters, the legendary Britney faced off against her father in court in an effort to end the conservatorship.

Her efforts were in vain, as the judge ruled against her, but the appeal process is already underway (more on that later).

The other reason the pop star has been making tabloid headlines for the past three months is that fans are convinced Britney has been sending coded messages to her fans through her Instagram page.

These are the same people who believe that Spears is being held captive by her conservators, and is not even allowed to leave the house without permission and supervision.

It sounds a little crazy - at times, more than a little crazy - but lately, there's been reason to believe that card-carrying members of Britney Nation might be on to something.

All summer, Britney seemed to subtly respond to prompts from fans who asked her to wear yellow or talk about flowers in her next post if she was in danger.

Now, the singer has posted a series of videos in which she works her way through new dance routines, and fans are convinced they're witnessing yet another cry for help.

“This is my next project “Just a Touch of Red“ .... get it .... RED ROSE? Ps way more of RED to COME ... my hair will get a little wilder and my body a little sweatier," Spears captioned one such clip.

Fans were quick to notice that Britney was once again mentioning flowers and colors, both of which she used as symbols to indicate distress in recent months.

“This is chilling. I feel like I’m watching someone go through something horrible and I can do nothing to help,” one follower commented.

“Omg red means danger and she said red three times. Guys what can we do to help?” another wrote.

Obviously, fans could be overthinking this one, but Britney's situation is so bizarre these days that no theory about her increasingly erratic posts should be discounted.

Further complicating the situation is the intensifying legal battle Britney and her father, Jamie Spears (below).

In new court documents obtained by TMZ, Brit's lawyers blasted Jamie for attempting to re-hire Andrew Wallet as the head of her conservtaorship team.

Wallet served as Britney's conservator from 2008 to 2019.

Her lawyers argue that Wallet is "uniquely unsuited" for the job, not only because he clashed with Britney, but also because he was wildly expensive to retain.

They say the singer is being forced to make "difficult budgetary choices going forward," and they simply can't afford Wallet, who was paid millions, and received a $100,000 payout when he quit the job last year.

Britney's dad has fired back, alleging that his daughter's latest filing is "full of factual misstatements."

She has now hinted that she will not be performing again - possibly ever - unless this is resolved.

It's anyone's guess what might happen when Britney and Jamie face off in court again later this month.

But one thing is certain - it seems fans are right to be concerned, and this is not going to be neatly resolved.

Sam Asghari SLAMS Britney Spears’ Trolls: Be Nice or Unfollow!

Tragically, Britney Spears' awful father is still her conservator. Fans have a lot of legitimate worries about her freedoms.

But when an author took things too far, it was Britney's boyfriend who stepped up, shutting down the comment and praising Britney.

Sam Asghari

Kelly Oxford is an author, and one of countless fans of Britney Spears who have taken part in #FreeBritney discussions.

However, under a recent post of Britney's, Kelly seemed alarm by the singing sensation's social media feed.

"This account finally got too scary for me," she declared in a comment.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari, Masked at the Beach

"What’s so scary about being the biggest superstar in the world being herself?" Britney's hunky boyfriend Sam Asghari replied.

He went on to describe her as "authentic, funny, humble."

Sam proudly notes that Britney does all of this "without caring what others think."

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari in Miami

"We need more people like her," Sam wrote, "and less Karen’s."

We're sure that he meant to write fewer and also that he did not intend to use an apostrophe to denote a plural. Hey, typos happen.

Sam's comment concluded: "Also Instagram installed this button that you can hit to unfollow about 10 years ago …"

Sam Asghari IG clapback (light mode)

Britney's posts themselves are not, at first glance, scary.

Her photos tend to be selfies or self-like photos of her modeling clothing.

"Scary" isn't really a word that applies to most of her photos -- even though Halloween is her favorite holiday.

Britney Is Serious

The captions tend to range from simple statements about her latest interest to lengthier well-wishes.

For example, one of her most recent posts encourages people to support front-line medical workers during this pandemic.

Britney's words also ask her fans to be environmentally conscious in their choices.

Britney Spears sweet IG caption

Another recent caption quoted one of Selena Gomez's many excellent songs -- talent recognizes talent.

Britney suggested that the "kill 'em with kindness" method is the best approach.

Selena replied with praise with a comment of her own.

Britney Spears IG kill 'em with kindness + selena gomez reply

Now, before anyone gives author and public figure Kelly Oxford a hard time, we should explain that she is not alone.

What is "scary" about Britney's Instagram posts, to some, is that she will post many pictures from the same spot, in the same series of outfits.

It appears that she takes multiple photos at once, and then shares individual photos from that shoot at different times with new captions.

Britney Spears IG conspiracy theory replies sample 01 of 03

Seriously, her comments look more or less like this under every single post.

Person after person talking about her sharing similar pics on different days.

Some are annoyed (and yet want to make it her problem). Others are deeply worried.

Britney Spears IG conspiracy theory replies sample 02 of 03

They think that someone else is sharing these photos.

Though Britney posted an Instagram video in 2019 denouncing the claims that her social media is controlled by others, some are unconvinced.

After all, her conservatorship controls so many aspects of her life. Who, they wonder, is to say that she wasn't simply forced to make that video ... or that things haven't changed since then.

Britney Spears IG conspiracy theory replies sample 03 of 03

Worrying about Britney's limited freedoms and her human rights as this conservatorship marches on without ending is both good and reasonable.

It is not unreasonable to have questions about Britney's posts, even if there are simpler explanations than a lack of social media autonomy.

Some, however, have allowed their imaginations to run wild, like this wildly unhinged comment saying that Britney is a victim of Illuminati mind-control.

Britney Spears IG conspiracy theory reply MK Ultra

Just a reminder: there's no Illuminati, Britney is not under MK Ultra mind control, and spouting this stuff does a disservice to Britney.

It's very important that, as we all discuss Britney's path to autonomy and freedom, we don't get carried away.

There is a difference between pushing for the truth or for justice and simply turning a real person's suffering into a meme.

Britney In Trouble?

Is Britney's Instagram all a facade in which she is forced to play a humiliating role?

It's possible, even if it's unlikely.

But even if it's true, filling her comments with conspiracy theory garbage wouldn't exactly set her free, would it? And if it's not the case ... why risk ruining her day?

The ACLU is Going to Help Free Britney

Britney Spears is still under a conservatorship and while she recently petitioned the court to have her father removed from it she’s going to be under it for some time. But the ACLU has offered to take up her case and end her conservatorship once and for all.

They have a point here, Britney is nearly 40, she doesn’t really need a babysitter. She was put in conservatorship in 2008. Do you know how long ago that was? How I Met Your Mother was still good in 2008. Hell, Scrubs was still good in 2008. And I’m pretty sure BTS were all in kindergarten or whatever kind of prison camp they send K-Pop stars to as children.

A judge recently extended the conservatorship through February 2021, and are we really supposed to believe Britney is less mentally stable than Kanye West?

Now, I don’t buy into the idea that Spears is being held against her will or kidnapped or Shanghaied by pirates or whatever the hell people think is going on. But I do know that she’s under a conservatorship and that means she basically can’t run her own life. And I hate to beat a dead horse here, but Kanye West is running his own life and he decided to run for President and build Tatooine beehive houses without a permit.

What I’m saying is there doesn’t need to be a big conspiracy for Britney to be released from this conservatorship; she’s a grown woman and deserves to make her own decisions.

Britney Spears to Judge: Please Free Me From My Dad!

Britney Spears has been making tabloid headlines all summer, and now, it seems the recent drama in the pop icon's personal life has come to a head.

Over the past few months, Britney's conservatorship has become a source of growing concern for fans.

Britney With a Flower Crown

Under the terms of the arrangement, which stems from Spears' well-documented 2007 breakdown, Britney's life is almost entirely under the control of her father, Jamie Spears.

Fans have gone so far as to claim that Britney is being held captive by her own family.

Some have even theorized that Spears is sending coded messages via her Instagram page in the hope that fans will recognize the desperation of her situation and come to her rescue.

Britney on Instagram In 2020

The conservatorship was supposed to come up for review last month, but a court hearing was canceled due to alleged privacy concerns.

Now, Britney has finally gotten a chance to plead her case to a judge.

And not surprisingly, her lawyers have asked that Jamie -- referred to in legal documents as James -- be removed as Britney's conservator.

Britney Spears Wears a White Flower

It seems that Jamie stepped down from his role in controlling his daughter's life as a result of health problems which he began experiencing in 2018.

He recently returned to his post, and he and Britney have been clashing ever since.

"Britney is strongly opposed to James' return as conservator of her person," reads one court filing, obtained by the New York Times and other media outlets.

Britney Spears in Yellow

Interestingly, Spears is not entirely opposed to the conservatorship, which her lawyers say  "rescued her from a collapse, exploitation by predatory individuals and financial ruin" and made her "able to regain her position as a world class entertainer."

What Britney wants is for her manager, Jodi Montgomery, to resume her role as executor of the conservatorship.

Spears lawyers' point out that she enjoyed a career renaissance in her years under Montgomery's control, a time that included a successful and wildly lucrative Las Vegas residency.

Brtiney Spears: Quarantine Six-Pack

It seems Britney's lawyers are eager to assure the public that there's no bad blood between Britney and her father -- but at the same time, they want him to surrender control of her career.

Jamie has been defensive in recent months, blasting the conspiracy theories about his daughter's alleged captivity in a recent interview.

“All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything,” he said at the time.

Britney Spears Has Lost Weight in Quarantine

“I have to report every nickel and dime spent to the court every year," Jamie added.

"How the hell would I steal something? … I love my daughter.”

Legal experts expect that the judge in Britney's case will grant her request, and a decision is expected before the end of this week.

A major victory for the #FreeBritney movement!

Britney Spears Trying to Get Father Jamie Removed From Conservatorship

Britney Spears has been under a conservatorship for over a decade because of that mental breakdown she had. You know, where she shaved her head? A lot of her fans have been speaking out about the need to end it, calling their campaign “Free Britney.”

recently addressed the movement with comments from Spears’ longtime friend and fellow Mouseketeer Lance Bass.

“I get a lot of questions about this, but I always stay silent because I’m like, ‘I don’t know.’ If I had something positive or some real information to share I probably would,” Bass said on the Aug. 13 episode of The Daily Popcast.

“Obviously she’s got some problems. I don’t know what she’s going through, I don’t know exactly what her diagnoses are but online these videos are definitely out of character for her,” the longtime friend of Spears added. “This is kind of a new thing. So something’s going on. I think that’s why a lot of the fans are like, ‘She’s being held hostage because she’s acting so strange.”

He also mentioned that Spears’ siblings wouldn’t just stand by if something bad was happening to her.

But Spears did file paperwork to have her father removed as conservator, as reported by TMZ.

I think there’s a far cry from being bad at being a conservator and holding your daughter hostage. Spears also wants to take time off from performing.

You know, Britney is almost 40. Sure she’s had some problems but she should be able to decide what’s in her own best interest, she’s not an idiot.

Well, I mean, she did marry Kevin Federline, someone stopping that would have been in her best interest. But she’s not even asking to be released from her conservatorship, just to have someone more competent manage it, which seems reasonable.

Britney Spears is More Henna Tattoo Than Woman Now

If you’re not familiar with henna, it’s a very strong hair dye for anyone who wants to be a redhead. It will red the s**t out of your hair forever, believe me. In some places, particularly in India, it’s also used for temporary tattoos which can be quite intricate, extravagant and gorgeous. It’s something of a tradition for Hindu brides to have their hands and feet tattooed like this for a wedding.

Henna tattoos are also illegal in the United States because the FDA only approves henna for use in hair dyes and not for application to the skin, primarily because the additives to make these dyes a color other than red can cause allergic reactions.

Britney Spears will not be told what she can or cannot use to get a temporary tattoo by your little FDA.

It’s kind of hard not to pay attention to Britney.

Of course, not all that attention is, shall we say, hinged, and Page Six highlighted a couple of comments from Britney’s fans who think this is some kind of cry for help from the singer.

Fans, who believe in the #FreeBritney movement, questioned whether the peculiar post was another sign from Spears, 38, to show that she was being held against her will by her conservatorship.

“Wtf have they done to you?!!” one person asked. “Its clear someone else is taking these pictures and the plain background is not lost on us … its VERY obvious they dont want to give any evidence of where you are actually being held at this point.” The comment received more than 400 likes.

Another person wrote, “She’s demanding attention because she’s in trouble.”

Jesus Christ guys, can’t you just get really into QAnon or Russiagate or the moon landing like normal conspiracy-theory weirdos?

Britney Spears: Movement to End Conservatorship Gains Momentum; Is the Pop Icon Being Held Captive?

When the phrase first entered the national lexicon, #FreeBritney referred to the push to liberate Britney Spears from her marriage to Kevin Federline.

These days, Britney and K-Fed's marriage has been over for more than a decade, but the push to secure Spears' independence is stronger than ever.

Brit Spears Pic

These days, however, Brit's battling against an opponent far more formidable than some lanky backup dancer with aspirations to make it as a rapper.

The man holding Spears down in 2020 is her own father, and his authority is backed by the law.

Britney is bound by the terms of a conservatorship, meaning a judge has determined that she's incapable of making major decisions about her own life.

Britney Spears Goes Light on the Makeup

According to the court's decision, the singer "cannot make key decisions, personal or financial, without the approval of her conservators: her father, Jamie Spears, and a lawyer, Andrew M. Wallet."

The two men share their responsibilities with Britney's care manager, a woman named Jodi Montgomery.

Together they preside over everything from Britney's $60 million fortune to her child custody arrangement with her ex.

Britney Spears Has Lost Weight in Quarantine

The arrangement has been in place since Spears suffered a meltdown amid intense career and personal pressure back in 2008.

She's been struggling to free herself from the conservatorship ever since.

"I basically just want my life back...I want to be able to drive my car," she told Rolling Stone that same year.

Britney Spears Smiles in Miami

"I want to be able to live in my house by myself. I want to be able to say who's going to be my security guard."

Needless to say, it's not hard to see why many fans have gone so far as to say that Britney is being held captive.

And the events of the past few months have done little to put their minds at ease.

The trouble began back in April when Britney accidentally burned down her home gym.

Fans began paying closer attention to Spears' Instagram page looking for signs of distress.

And many were upset with what they found.

Spears appeared discombobulated in many of her videos, and there was a disturbingly repetitive quality to her posts.

In her photos, she was almost always posed in a similar fashion -- standing in front of a plain white wall, smiling awkwardly, and dressed in a sort of childlike way that fans had never seen before.

That's when the prompts began.

Commenters encouraged Spears to wear yellow and do a twirl in her next video if she needed help.

She did so.

As Mashable notes, one fan encouraged Spears to post doves if she needed assistance from the outside world.

She later posted a Hans Zatzka painting that featured several doves.

On TikTok and Instagram, the #FreeBritney movement has picked up steam, with fans creating entire accounts dedicated to liberating Spears.

"For 12 years, she has been denied basic human rights under a legal tool reserved for incapacitated individuals that generates millions of dollars in revenue for her team," wrote one activist.

Recently, a post on Spears' page sought to bring an end to the movement:

Britney Spears Says Oops, I Burned Down My Gym

"Don't believe everything you read and hear. Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way," Spears wrote.

"You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want!"

But as many commenters pointed out, there's no way to be certain that Spears was the author of the post.

Britney Spears is Filled with Cheer

The events of the past week only deepened concerns, as a conservatorship review hearing was canceled amid alleged fears about privacy.

Shortly thereafter, Britney's brother, Bryan Spears, gave an interview in which he described the conservatorship as "a wonderful thing" for his family.

We don't know for sure that anything is amiss in Britney's world, but given the mountain of evidence to that effect, it's not hard to see why fans are concerned.

Britney Spears’ Brother: She’s Too Immature to Take Care of Herself!

Britney Spears has been in the news a lot these past few months, and sadly, very few updates on the pop icon have been encouraging.

In fact, many fans are convinced that Spears is in the midst of a personal crisis.

The scrutiny began when Spears accidentally burned down her home gym.

Both the action and Britney's blasé reaction were taken as signs that the singer was no faring well in isolation.

And her social media posts in the weeks that followed didn't do much to disabuse fans of that notion.

Now, some are going so far as to claim that Britney is being held captive.

Whether or not that's true in the most literal sense, Spears is currently restrained by a conservatorship controlled by her father.

The arrangement has been a source of controversy for years and it was supposed to come up for review in a status hearing this week.

But as TMZ reports, the phone call did not take place as planned

Now, Brit's brother, Bryan Spears, is running damage control and sticking up for his dad.

In a new podcast interview, Bryan says that the conservatorship has been a "great thing for our family" and suggests that it would ending the arrangement would be disastrous for Britney,

He concedes that Britney has  "always wanted to get out of [the conservatorship]," but argues that she doesn't know what's best for herself.

"It's very frustrating to have," he says.

"Whether someone's coming in peace to help or coming in with an attitude, having someone constantly tell you to do something has got to be frustrating."

He explains that the situaiton was even more tense in the beginning.

"We kind of came together and not everybody agreed with [the conservatorship]; everyone had their own opinion like, 'Maybe we should do it this way or that way,'" Bryan says.

"But at the end, I think we made the right choice."

Britney Spears Has Lost Weight in Quarantine

He concludes by arguing that ending the conservatorship abruptly now would send Britney into a tailspim.

"She's been surrounded by a team of people since she was 15, so at what level does everyone just walk away or get reduced?" he asks the host.

He adds that Britney has never had the burden of driving herself anywhere or completing simple "everyday tasks"

"I'm sure it's going to be an adjustment," he concludes.

Now, we supppose it's possible that Bryan is right -- after all, Britney is his sister and he's known her all her life.

But if the goal was to convince fans that Britney is not being held captive or treated unfairly, we'd have to call this interview a massive failure.

Britney Spears Burned Down Her Home Gym

I was never a huge fan of Britany Spears music, but I’ve become a big follower of her Instagram workout videos. It’s like watching those old early-morning workout shows ESPN used to run with Kiana Tom only way sadder because internet porn exists now.

In her latest video, Spears explains she hasn’t been in her home gym in months because she burned it down.

Hi guys, I’m in my gym right now. I haven’t been in here for, like, six months because I burned my gym down, unfortunately. I had two candles and, yeah, one thing led to another and I burned it down.

I mean, that seems like a reasonable explanation. I’ve been questioning why Britany still has a conservatorship when she’s a grown adult who seems to have made great strides in her personal life, but this answers a lot of questions. Questions like “does Britany understand how fire works?”

I mean, I’m glad everyone was safe, but you can’t just yadda yadda yadda over how you went from having two candles to having a burned-down home gym. If owning candles lead to inevitably burning your house down, Chanukah would be a much less festive holiday.

Britney Spears I Burned Down My Home Gym, But at Least I’m Still Hot!

Britney Spears has been using her platform and her resources to make quarantine more bearable for fans during this pandemic.

She has lost weight on lockdown, but not from working out extra -- because Britney accidentally burned her home gym to the ground.

"I have been quarantining since I got back from Louisiana weeks ago …." Britney revealed this week on Instagram.

"So basically," she shared, "I haven’t seen my boyfriend @samasghari in what feels like a lifetime !!!!"

A lot of people are coping with missing loved ones during this time.

"I have actually lost weight from missing him …." Britney confessed.

"Now none of my pants or shorts fit !!!!!" Britney revealed.

Some people are having the same experience, but many have taken to social media to share that the opposite is true for them.

"Guess that’s what missing someone can do  …. who else is experiencing this ????!" she asked.

In the replies, beloved Olympic athlete Gus Kenworthy joked: "I've gained enough weight for both of us!"

E! News spoke to sources and was able to confirm (to no one's surprise) that Britney and her hunky boyfriend Sam Asghari are apart.

According to their insider, the two "haven't been physically together for a few weeks now."

"She just wants to be safe in quarantine and doesn't want to risk anything," the source explains, "so she's just taking precautions."

"They are communicating daily on FaceTime," the insider adds, "[but] there isn't a timeline yet for them to reunite."

Only Britney could come up with a story more eye-catching than her clothes no longer fitting.

"It was an accident," Britney writes in the caption of a video in which she stood in her "new" home gym.

"But yes …. I burnt it down," she admitted. "I walked past the door to the gym and flames."

"BOOM !!!!!! By the Grace of God the alarm went off after that and yippy hoorah nobody got hurt," Britney expressed.

"Unfortunately," Britney continued her caption, "now I have only two pieces of equipment left lol and a one-sided mirror gym !!!!!"

"But it could be much worse," she freely acknowledged, "so I’m grateful."

"Pssss I like working out better outside anyways," Brtiney added.

She also spoke about the incident in the video that we have attached with this post, shedding further light on how it happened.

"I haven't been in here for, like, six months," Britney explained during the Instagram video.

She then added that the reason, for those who did not read her caption, was "because I burnt my gym down, unfortunately,"

"I had some candles and, yeah, one thing led to another," Britney shared.

It could potentially happen to anyone, which is why we should all be careful -- especially during this pandemic.

We are, of course, deeply relieved that Britney and her family were safe during this terrible fire.

Incidentally, there was supposed to be a hearing about her conservatorship this month.

Given the pandemic, most courthouses are closed except for emergencies, and so that hearing has been continued to another date.

Everyone hopes that, one day soon, Britney will be free of her father's control.

Britney Spears Says She’s Faster Than Usain Bolt

My name is Britney Spears, and I am the fastest woman alive. To the outside world, I’m an ordinary forensic scientist, but secretly, with the help of my friend at S.T.A.R Labs, I fight crime and find other meta-humans like me. But I became lost in time. It took everything in my friend’s power to bring me back, and in doing so our world was opened up to new threats. And I am the only one fast enough to stop them. I am the Flash.

Britney Spears just claimed to be the fastest person in the world, and by quite a bit. The current world record for the 100 meter is 9.58 seconds, held by Usain Bolt. Spear claimed to have run it in 5.97 seconds on Instagram.

She deleted the post but Page Six had the details.

“Ran my first 5 !!!!” she captioned a now-deleted screenshot of a stopwatch timer displaying 5.97 seconds. “Getting over your fear of pushing it in the beginning is key …. once I did that I hit 5 !!!!! Usually I run 6 or 7 …. my first try was 9 …. and now I did it whoop !!!!! 100 meter dash.”

Spears followed up later to say she was joking.

I don’t get the joke here. Why delete it if it was a joke? It’s like shooting someone in the shoulder and then going “haha dude, I pranked you!”
