Carrie Underwood Is ‘Officially a Soccer Mom’ — and She’s Celebrating with a Smiley Selfie!

Country superstar Carrie Underwood had a whole new gig on Saturday: soccer mom.

The 35-year-old singer shared a smiley Instagram selfie, which she snapped from the field where she was cheering on 3½-year-old son Isaiah Michael’s game.

“Officially a soccer mom this morning!” she captioned the photo, adding that she was “staying warm” from the “chilly” temperatures by wearing clothing from her own fitness line, CALIA by Carrie.

As for the game itself, Isaiah played well — even if he wasn’t always focused on winning.

“The kids played a good game!” Underwood explained. “Isaiah scored two goals for his team…and one for the other team 🤷‍♀️. Hey, a goal’s a goal! ⚽

Underwood will be spending even more time with Isaiah over the next few months. She’s currently pregnant with her second child with husband Mike Fisher, 38, and has postponed her Cry Pretty Tour until May, after she’s scheduled to give birth.

She and Fisher recently celebrated eight years of marriage. The musician and former Nashville Predators star said “I do” in July 2010 at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia — and announced they were pregnant with baby No. 2 back in August.

While accepting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September, Underwood sent love to both Fisher and Isaiah.

“I met an incredible man, Mike, who thinks I’m so much better than I actually am. Thank you for believing in me as a human, as a wife, as a mom, and supporting me through all of this,” Underwood said. “He believes in me and we had another little man who believes in me too. Isaiah Michael, I love you so much. You’re the best thing we ever did. I love you and I believe you,” she said, facing her husband and son.

It’s been a busy year for Underwood. In addition to getting her Hollywood star, Underwood released her latest album, Cry Pretty, in September. She’s scheduled to host the CMA Awards alongside Brad Paisley for her 11th time in November.

Last November, a few days after hosting the CMA Awards, Underwood tripped on the steps outside of her Nashville home while taking her dogs out and suffered “multiple injuries.” The accident left the singer needing over 40 stitches in her face and surgery on her broken wrist.

After the fall, Underwood stayed out of the spotlight to recover from her injuries, before making a comeback in April at the ACM Awards, where she received a standing ovation from the crowd for her performance. Since then, she’s proudly displayed her battle scars, telling Redbook that the accident has helped her learn a valuable lesson that she believes young women struggling with body confidence could relate to.

“The first thing I would tell them is that we’re all insecure; that’s just called being human,” she told the magazine. “I feel like the most important thing to realize is that even people who seem to be superconfident have insecurities that they are dealing with.”

She added, “Honestly, you just do the best you can. Don’t worry about things you can’t change.”

Meanwhile, back in April, the American Idol season 4 winner dished to PEOPLE about striking the balance between work and family life, saying the couple’s “whole life has changed” since welcoming Isaiah.

“I remember when we first found out we were gonna have him it like, ‘How are we gonna do this? Our lives are so crazy as it is,’ ” said Underwood at the time.

“But you just make room and you learn how important that family time is, and to be able to spend time and carve out some of that and maybe get to go on vacation and maybe get to go on a cruise — that stuff is so important to, like I said, make time for family,” she added. “That’s what it’s all about.”

Taylor Swift, Cobie Smulders, Amber Heard, and All The A-List Hotties On The 2018 AMA Red Carpet

The American Music Awards were held last night, and while I couldn’t tell you the difference between them and the Billboard Music Awards—beyond the obvious corporate sponsorship thing—I do know that they were jam packed with hotties, just like any great awards show.

Kicking things off is former Disney Channel cutie Laura Marano, showing a little tasteful cleavage in a long sleeveless gown. Speaking of Disney Channel alums, Vanessa Hudgens was looking impossibly perfect in pink, and Chantel Jeffries brought out her golden globes, despite this being the American Music Awards.

How I Met Your Mother‘s Cobie Smulders was beautiful in blue, while Dua Lipa looked like she came directly from her prom. Taylor Swift looks like a god damned disco ball, and Keltie Knight was showing off plenty of inside cleavage in a red dress.

There are dozens more ladies to discover in this gallery, from the hellaciously hot Heidi Klum to Loren Gray looking electric in neon yellow. From Alexa Bliss baring her belly in a tantalizing two piece to Leighton Meester rocking a black and white wowzer of a dress! There’s a whole bevy of babes waiting to show off their goodies for you in the gallery below!

Pregnant Carrie Underwood Reveals She Suffered 3 Miscarriages in Last 2 Years: ‘I Got Mad’

Carrie Underwood has revealed that she suffered from three miscarriages in the last two years.

Underwood — who shares Isaiah, 3, with hockey player husband Mike Fisher, 38, and has a baby on the way — opened up about her challenging fertility struggles in an interview on CBS Sunday Morning, saying she experienced the first miscarriage in 2017.

“I’d kind of planned that 2017 was, you know, going to be the year that I work on new music, and I have a baby,” Underwood said. “We got pregnant early 2017, and didn’t work out.”

Underwood says she leaned into her faith at the time. “And that was the thing, in the beginning, it was like, ‘Okay, God, we know this is, just wasn’t Your timing. And that is all right. We will bounce back and figure our way through it.’”

After suffering a second miscarriage in 2017 and a third in 2018, “at that point, it was just kind of like, ‘Okay, like, what’s the deal? What is all of this?’” said Underwood.

“I had always been afraid to be angry,” Underwood explained of her reaction to the heartbreak on CBS. “Because we are so blessed. And my son, Isaiah, is the sweetest thing. And he’s the best thing in the world. And I’m like, ‘If we can never have any other kids, that’s okay, because he’s amazing.’ And I have this amazing life. Like, really, what can I complain about? I can’t. I have an incredible husband, incredible friends, an incredible job, an incredible kid. Can I be mad? No.”

But when she was having a fourth miscarriage, “I got mad,” Underwood told CBS News’ Tracy Smith.

One of her most emotional moments came as she cuddled with her son and thought, “Why on Earth do I keep getting pregnant if I can’t have a kid? Like, what is this? Shut the door. Like, do something. Either shut the door or let me have a kid.”

“And for the first time, I feel like I actually I told God how I felt,” she added. “That was like a Saturday — and the Monday I went to the doctor to, like, confirm, another miscarriage. And they told me everything was great!”

She said, “He heard me.”

Carrie Underwood Tricks Her Son with Makeup

Late last year, Carrie Underwood suffered a fall that resulted in her receiving 40 stitches in her face. Don’t worry, she turned out to be just fine. Take a look for yourself.

Despite looking almost exactly the same, this didn’t stop Underwood for fearing that others would view her as hideous. Her biggest worry was that she would scare her son. Appearing on The Bobby Bones Show (transcript via E! Online), Underwood detailed her fears.

“For a while, I was worried (my son) would be scared of me. But now if I put makeup on, he’s like, ‘Mommy, your boo-boo’s all gone.'”

Makeup. Making women look beautiful since forever.

Underwood’s son is 3. If Underwood really wanted to scare him, she could just hide in the closet and jump out at night. That’s all 3-year-olds are really afraid of.

The country singer also detailed the night of her fall. Despite previous reports, alcohol and an affair were not the cause.

“I was clumsy and I tripped. I held onto the dog leashes in my left hand and went to catch myself with my right and just missed the step. There’s one lone step. I said if I had fallen anywhere else, I would have been absolutely fine, but it’s just because there was, I went to catch myself and I missed.”

She might be a talented singer, but walking isn’t her strong suit. This fall is 100 percent on Mike Fisher. How the hell did he spend his short retirement if he wasn’t adding an extra step to his home so his wife wouldn’t fall and bust her face?

Carrie Underwood Got 50 Stitches in Her Face! OUCH!

Back in November, during a tribute to the victims of last year's horrific Las Vegas shooting, Carrie Underwood broke down on stage.

About a week later, meanwhile, the former American Idol champion announced she had broken her wrist in a fall and needed to undergo surgery for the injury.

Carrie Underwood Keeps Warm

Tweeted Underwood at the time:

"I just wanted let everyone know that I’m doing great. Had surgery on my wrist yesterday & all went well...even though I’ll be setting off airport metal detectors from now on...

"I’m so thankful for the doctors, nurses, family & friends who’ve been taking such great care of me."

Over the weekend, however, the beloved singer penned a lengthy blog post on her official fansite that opened up on further detail about this injury, detailing how the accident affected another important body part as well:

Her face.

"There is also another part of the story that I haven't been ready to talk about, since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up," the artist wrote in this New Year's Eve post, which we've shared below.

"It's crazy how a freak random accident can change your life. In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well."

Carrie Underwood note

Underwood went on to say she would spare supporters the "gruesome details" of what transpired and what had to be done in respond - but added that the doctor said he had put "between 40-50 stitches in."

Yikes, right?!?

“Now, here we are 7 weeks later and, even though I’ve had the best people helping me, I’m still healing and not quite looking the same,” Underwood continued in her very candid latter, admitting:

“I honestly don’t know how things are going to end up ...”

Underwood, whose last studio album was released in 2015, said she's working on fresh material.

She's excited about the music, but apprehensive about her appearance.

"When I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different," she said.

"I'm hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal, but, again, I just don't know how it's all going to end up."

Carrie Underwood and Fans

The only social media photo Underwood has shared of herself since the accident is posted at the outset of this article, as it features the superstar in a full-on face scarf.

Days after co-hosting the Country Music Awards in November, she fell down steps outside her Tennessee house, breaking her wrist and prompting her to cancel an appearance at a fundraising concert for hurricane victims and those affected by the Las Vegas shooting.

We admire her honesty in this blog post, don't you?

It's a reminder that celebrities are very much normal people, concerned about their appearances and about how they'll be received by others when simply walking down the street.

We've always adored Underwood for how she's managed to keep it real in the face of enormous success.

Carrie Underwood Looking Her Best

And no matter how her face looks, Underwood will always have an amazing body.

We're just kidding. (Not entirely, of course, she does have an amazing body.)

It's what's on the inside that counts, not the outside, and Carrie has made it clear she has a beautiful inside in every way possible.

Carrie Underwood Ashamed of Her Face

Back in November, Carrie Underwood fell and broke her wrist. Turns out, she suffered more than a broken wrist. Here’s what Underwood wrote on a message board to her fan club.

“There is also another part of the story that I haven’t been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up. It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life.

“In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [Underwood’s husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in.”

Underwood went on to say that she may not look “quite the same” after the incident.

Underwood has shared only one recent photo of herself since the accident. As you can see, she’s not exactly ready to let her face be seen.

I’m sure Carrie is still beautiful. It is sad that she feels she has to hide her face from the public. I guess when you’re used to looking perfect at every turn, one little mark would scare you off from wanting to show your face.

Underwood finished her post by expressing her gratitude and hoping for a better 2018.

“I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way.

“I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way. And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different.”

We still love you, Carrie. Just learn how to walk a little better in 2018.

7 Popular Hollywood Stars who are Certified Vegans

Celebrities are role models and it’s just fitting that they lead a healthy lifestyle to influence their millions of fans in a positive manner. Many Hollywood celebrities, in particular, have shun meat products and are now following plant-based and animal-free diets. They are called vegan celebs.

In the U.S., 2.5 percent of residents are vegans while five percent are vegetarians, according to a PETA report. Unlike what some people believe, those sticking to a plant-based diet can still consume vitamins and minerals while reducing their intake of calories and fats. They are also helping preserve the environment as they use fewer resources.

In support to this vegan lifestyle campaign, there are various groups now promoting vegan fashion. The Blue Rubies Faux Fur Collection, for instance, is using 100% vegan and cruelty-free merchandise and the company behind it emphasizes the essence of being fashion forward without having to harm animals.

Here are some of your favorite celebrities who now stick to a vegetarian diet.

Alec Baldwin

Actor Alec Baldwin was forced to follow a healthy lifestyle after being diagnosed as prediabetic in 2011. He became a vegan and in 2012 lost 30 pounds. This was during the time he bagged the SAG award for Best Actor in a TV Comedy.

Carrie Underwood

Did you know that Carried Underwood has been a vegetarian since age 13? Having grown up on a farm, she has witnessed animals being killed which discouraged her to consumer animal products.

In 2011, Underwood became a vegan but she clarified that her diet is not strictly without meat or dairy. She considers herself a practical vegan who still eats meat and dairy products on certain occasions such as for social or cultural reasons.

Casey Affleck

Casey Affleck is married to a fellow vegan and celebrity Summer Phoenix. This Goodwill Hunting star is an animal rights advocate.

Affleck related that her becoming a vegan was influenced by a childhood pet, his first dog. The was owned by an abusive couple who would not let him hold the pet.

Ellen de Generes

For popular comedian and talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres, several books on animal rights and diets influenced her decision to become a vegan in 2008. She said that her love for animals was a major reason to follow a plant-based diet. Her wedding with Portia de Rossi also in 2008 featured a vegan menu.

As part of her commitment, DeGeneres started a blog called “Going Vegan with Ellen.” She and wife Portia are also owners of a vegan restaurant.

Jennifer Lopez

Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is another happy vegan celebrity. She claims her plant-based diet has given her more energy and has made her feel so much better.

If there’s any food she misses, though, it’s butter. For her, butter makes everything tastes better.

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman was already a vegetarian for a long time before becoming a vegan. It was in 2009 when she went vegan after the book “Eating Animals” by Jonathan Safran Foer. Unknown to her many fans, she also blogged about her becoming a vegan on The Hufftington Post taking note of the compromised welfare of slaughterhouse workers and the harsh effects of mass productions of animals on the environment.

In 2011, however, Portman went vegetarian again but only for a year while pregnant saying that her body was craving for foods with dairy products such as eggs and cheese. By 2012, she reverted to being a vegan and in fact, an all-vegan menu was served during her wedding in the same year.

Usher

Usher is among the male celebrities who follow a healthy diet. It was in 2012 when the singer-songwriter-dancer went vegan. Reports have it that Usher’s father died of a heart attack in 2008 and since then, he has committed to leading a healthier lifestyle.

He has, in fact, encourage Justin Bieber to do the same but the Canadian singer has not stuck with the plan.

Carrie Underwood Admits She’d ‘Feel Guilty’ Getting Help at Home: ‘I’m Learning’ to Ask for Assistance

Carrie Underwood is embracing the wonders — and challenges — that come with motherhood.

The country star talked to Redbook about how 19-month-old Isaiah Michael — her son with husband Mike Fisher — changed her life.

“I definitely feel like it’s changed me as a person,” Underwood, 33, says in the cover story of the magazine’s November issue.

“I’m happier. I’m in a better mood a lot of the time. He’ll be watching cartoons and I’ll be watching him. I’m completely in love. I love it when he’s sleepy and I get to hold him and smell him. He doesn’t know I’m staring at him and being all googly-eyed!”

And while she loves seeing all of her son’s milestones, the proud mom says raising her baby boy is a constant learning process.

“Ask for help,” she advises other moms, adding, “Accepting help is hard for me, but I’m learning. Sometimes I feel guilty that this is my son’s life: We live on a bus and we’re in a hotel room and sometimes we’re in the middle of nowhere and it’s not so great. It’s not all glamorous.”

She continues, “We have a nanny who helps out, especially when we’re on the road. But I’d feel guilty asking someone to watch him at home while I run to the grocery store.”

Luckily for Underwood, she should have an extra hand available when the couple are ready for baby No. 2.

“If my husband were at the beginning of his career, I’m not sure we could handle it,” she says of expanding their family. “Since he’s kind of nearing the end and won’t be traveling so much, we’re like, ‘We can figure it out for not that long.’ You make it work.”

Underwood says balancing her family and being on the road for her tour is difficult, but doable.

“When I was pregnant, I thought, How am I going to go on the road? How am I going to keep doing my job?” she says. “I had to just give it to God and stop worrying about it. Sure enough, we figured it out.”

Best Playdate Ever! Carrie Underwood Shares Sweet Photos of Son Isaiah Visiting Sesame Place

Luke Bryan

Hello, Elmo!

Carrie Underwood‘s son Isaiah had the time of his life over the weekend when the country star and her tot visited Sesame Place, an amusement park featuring all the favorites from Sesame Street, in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

In a series of Instagram posts, the proud mom, 33, spent a fun day with her 19-month-old, who she shares with husband Mike Fisher.

“Since we were in the area…we got the chance to make Isaiah’s day! Thanks, #sesameplace for the fun! We all had a blast!” Underwood wrote in a post, showing her son being greeted by Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Zoe and Count Von Count.

“Isaiah [loves] ELMO!!! #sesameplace,” she wrote in the post.

And the Sesame Street star sighting didn’t end there. Later in the day, Underwood — who was spotted munching on popcorn with Isaiah in tow as they made their way around the amusement park — posted a photo of her toddler covered in a few new plush pals.

The mother-son duo stopped by the park’s Sesame Street en route to Hershey, Pennsylvania, where Underwood continued her North American leg of The Storyteller Tour. Last month, she talked to PEOPLE about life on the road for her family of three.

“On days off, we look for parks and zoos and aquariums,” she said. “It’s definitely a balancing act. I have help, because someone has to watch Isaiah when I’m on stage, but we live a lot more on the bus now instead of going in and out of hotels.”

For Underwood, it’s important to make sure Fisher — a center for the Nashville Predators — spends time bonding with Isaiah.

“We FaceTime almost every day so [Mike] can have a little interaction with Isaiah,” she says. “That has to be hard, for him to be away from Isaiah. I have never been on that side of it. They need their time together because Isaiah loves his daddy!”

Underwood is slated to perform in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Tuesday.

Carrie Underwood Does Her Laundry (and Hair and Makeup!) on Tour: It ‘Makes Me Feel Human’

“Dirty Laundry” isn’t just Carrie Underwood‘s latest single: It’s a day-to-day task that doesn’t stop when she’s on tour.

“We travel with a washer-dryer. Doing my own laundry makes me feel like a human,” the 33-year-old country singer tells PEOPLE of life on the road with 18-month-old Isaiah Michael, her son with her NHL player husband Mike Fisher.

In fact, having bits of her everyday life with her on tour is crucial for the seven-time Grammy winner.

“I bring my dogs, which is a little piece of home. And I have a cooking surface on the bus because I like to cook as much as possible. Room service gets old,” adds Underwood, who just resumed her North American portion of The Storyteller Tour — Stories in the Round with a show in Anchorage, Alaska, on Wednesday.

Underwood is a busy woman these days. Aside from parenting duties and putting on multiple shows a week, she is also gearing up to co-host the 50th Annual Country Music Awards alongside Brad Paisley.

But the hectic schedule is just part of life for the singer and mom of one.

“It’s definitely a balancing act. I have help, because someone has to watch Isaiah when I’m on stage, but we live a lot more on the bus now instead of going in and out of hotels,” she explains.

Instagram Photo

Luckily, Underwood has everything she needs in their mobile abode for her son to be happy and comfortable.

“My bus is outfitted for him — he has a crib in the back, and everything is safe there,” she says. “That’s a whole other thing — when you’re in a hotel, they probably wonder why I put the big plant in the closet. It’s because he’ll grab it.

“Or the big lamp on the floor? I have to put it in the closet,” the “Cowboy Casanova” singer adds. “It’s a whole new thing to think about, and it’s definitely a lot more going on.”

The American Idol alum might have her hands full, but she also finds time for quiet bonding moments with her little boy.

“On days off, we look for parks and zoos and aquariums,” she says, adding that she likes to go to farmer’s markets, co-ops and more to buy groceries wherever she’s visiting.

Underwood reveals that between all that, she’s somehow still able to find time for just herself.

“I do my own hair and makeup on the road. It’s another thing that … I’m a person and I’m a lady, and I like to do my own makeup and hair,” she says. “On red carpets, somebody else has to do it for me because the lights can do weird stuff with your face. But on the road, it’s my zen time before the show.”

But she also admits, “When it’s all over, I just want to enjoy some time at home and watch some hockey!”

As for parenting with her husband, who is a center for the Nashville Predators, Underwood says they make it work while she has Isaiah with her on the road by taking advantage of current technology.

“We FaceTime almost every day so [Mike] can have a little interaction with Isaiah,” she says. “He comes out sometimes. I look for times when his schedule has him playing at home, and we might send Isaiah home to be with him so he can have some time with him.

“That has to be hard, for him to be away from Isaiah. I have never been on that side of it,” the “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer adds. “They need their time together because Isaiah loves his daddy!”

Carrie Underwood‘s baby Isaiah Michael is diving into a fun summer!

The country star, 33, posted a video to her Instagram on Saturday showing a fearless 17-month-old Isaiah going head (and belly!) first into a tiny pool.

“Summertime splashes! #bellyflop,” she captioned the video, posted Saturday afternoon.

In the clip, her giddy son runs over to a small blue pool and giggles after landing the perfect belly flop in a green shirt and gray shorts. In the background, it sounds like dad Mike Fisher, 36, (who originally posted the video) says, “Nice belly flop, buddy!”

The video ends with Isaiah looking to go for belly flop number two.

“He soaks in the sunshine…and I realize that he is mine…I don’t deserve such sweetness! #blessed #momlife,” she wrote on her Instagram, posted Thursday.

This is Underwood’s first baby with husband Mike Fisher, but the family of three is “definitely” looking to expand.

“Oh definitely!” she told PEOPLE earlier this year. “I’m not sure when because we’re both kind of busy these days, but yeah, definitely. And I’m like, ‘He’s so good — I could do a few more of those.’ ”

Underwood, 33, welcomed her first child with husband Mike Fisher in February of last year, and has been open about her journey into motherhood, telling PEOPLE last October that she wants to raise her son to “have a loving heart toward people who are different.”

“Mike and I talk about teaching him how to approach everybody in a loving way, even if they’re not the same, and to try to say, ‘You know what? God loves them, so it should be my job to my best to love them as well,'” Underwood added.

The country star didn’t just share her hopes for her son, she dished up some maternal realness, revealing that she struggles with mom guilt just like every other parent when they welcome a new baby.

“You feel guilty about every single thing, every decision you make, everything you do,” Underwood said.

Carrie Underwood on Her ‘Little Sponge’ Isaiah: ‘He’s Growing and Learning Every Day’

Carrie Underwood has a lot to be thankful for, and her son Isaiah tops the list.

“He’s the best thing,” she told PEOPLE at the 22nd Annual Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday. “I never really knew what it was like to love something or someone unconditionally until I had him.”

The “Church Bells” singer added, “He’s so sweet and so smart. He’s a little sponge just growing and learning every day. He’s just the best thing.”

Underwood, who welcomed her 13-month-old son with Nashville Predators star Mike Fisher last February, admitted that the little one — who “climbs all over everything” nowadays — is at the stage where he repeats everything.

“He’ll hear you say something and then he’ll mock you,” Underwood, 33, said of her son’s imitations. “Right now he walks around the bus and he’s like ‘OK, OK.’ It’s adorable.”

The American Idol alum, who wed Fisher in 2010, said that though having a baby hasn’t entirely changed their marriage, it has forced them to become more aware of the time they do get to spend together.

“Sometimes you have to make more of an effort to be with each other because it’s really easy to put all of your time and energy into your baby,” explained Underwood. “It’s been — not challenging, but just something that we’ve really just trying to be mindful of and try to make time for each other. We’re planning a vacation right now — we need it!”

Way to go, dad! Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher‘s son Isaiah Michael was on the ice to watch his father be honored by the Nashville Predators on Monday night.

Peering adorably up at his mom and dad as they shared a celebratory kiss, Isaiah, who recently turned 1, was wearing a Predators jersey for Fisher’s 1000th NHL game in Nashville, Tennessee.

The country singer, as well as Fisher’s parents Jim and Karen, were all present for the big moment in Fisher’s hockey career and later cheered the athlete on to victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Underwood also honored her husband in a star-studded video, that featured congratulatory messages from the likes of Brad Paisley, Bono and Luke Bryan.

“I’m so proud of you for so many reasons, but specifically, tonight, I’m proud of you because I know how hard you work at everything you do,” Underwood said in the clip. “And I know how much dedication you have toward hockey and toward this team.”

Carrie Underwood Says Son Isaiah Is Her Biggest Accomplishment: He’s the ‘Little Sunshine in My World’

She may have just kicked off her Storyteller tour, but Carrie Underwood is already in need of a night off.

And what better way to celebrate than while walking the red carpet at Monday’s Grammy Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

“We’re in random places sometimes and we’re just stuck with whatever we have. We’ve been really great and staying fit and being healthy while we’re on the road, making the best with what we’ve got,” the “Heartbeat” singer told E! News.

“But this is my little treat to myself this time. This is such a huge tour, we’re out for so long — I need some motivation.”

An evening out isn’t Underwood’s only recent treat: The singer showed off her stunning new Johnathon Arndt necklace, a Valentine’s Day present from husband Mike Fisher.

“[I’ve been] wearing it for no reason. Like, I’m in my pajamas in my room hanging out, just wearing this for no reason,” she joked. “I was like, ‘I’m not just gonna save it for red carpets. I’ve gotta put it on!’ ”

And while she’s nominated for best country solo performance for “Little Toy Guns,” Underwood admits her biggest accomplishment arrived in March 2015 when she welcomed son Isaiah Michael.

“My little guy is the little sunshine in my world every single day,” she said. “He’s back at the hotel right now. He’s smiley and sweet and happy and … he’s the best.”

Mike Fisher Recovers From His First Christmas as a Dad – with Cartoons!

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are enjoying some much needed down time after pulling out all the stops for son Isaiah Michael‘s first Christmas.

The country singer shared a photo of her hockey player hubby and Isaiah, 10 months, hanging out in some comfy attire to Instagram on Sunday.

In the adorable father-son bonding moment, Fisher sat in a stuffed chair with the couple’s pooch while Isaiah perched in an arm chair of his own.

The starry seat, which the little boy shared with a furry stuffed animal, was emblazoned with his moniker.

“How we spent our Sunday…my man and my lil’ monkey,” Underwood, 32, wrote. “He was watching cartoons … the kiddo, that is … not the hubby!” (We have a sneaking suspicion that Fisher might have tuned in to the animated programs, as well, though.)

Carrie Underwood’s Favorite Accessory Is Not What You’d Expect

Underwood previously told PEOPLE that she and Fisher wanted to make sure their son understood the true meaning of Christmas.

“I feel there’s a lot of Christmas that has kind of gotten lost,” she said. “[Mike and I] have talked about not wanting to spoil our kids.”

The singer added, “We want it to be more about the family and the fun times.”

So Cute! See Carrie Underwood Get ‘Slobbery’ Baby Kisses from Son Isaiah

Rick Diamond/Getty

Take it from Carrie Underwood — the best way to wash away any “mom guilt” is with a healthy dose of slobbery baby kisses!

The country singer posted a video to her Facebook page on Monday in which her 8-month-old son Isaiah Michael repeatedly gives his mom some very wet but very sweet kisses as she cracks up.

“Baby kisses are the best things in the world…I’m so thankful for my sweet angel. He makes my life better in every way! #SoInLove #MomLife #Slobber,” Underwood, 32, captioned the video.

The Grammy winner recently spoke to PEOPLE about how she’s figuring out motherhood one step at a time.

“You feel guilty about every single thing, every decision you make, everything you do,” she says of raising Isaiah with NHL star Mike Fisher, her husband of five years.

But no matter how unprepared she felt for marriage and motherhood, Underwood is now head over heels in love with both roles — and both of her boys.

“I never dreamt of my wedding day and the perfect guy,” she said. “Then I met Mike, and I was like, ‘Wow, so now I know what I was missing.’ And the same with my son. I was never like, ‘I want kids so bad.’ And now that I have Isaiah in my life, I’m like, ‘What did I do before?’ ”

She is seven months into motherhood, and Carrie Underwood feels like she’s in a good groove when it comes to the day-to-day routine of diaper changes, bathtime and the nightly ritual of reading children’s Bible stories with her son Isaiah Michael and husband Mike Fisher.

Proud of her Christian faith — a decorative sign in her Tennessee cabin quotes Romans 3:25 (“Nothing But the Blood of Jesus”) — the “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer, 32, is also on the record as a supporter of gay marriage.

And although Isaiah is still little, she and Fisher have discussed what they plan to teach him on the subject.

The new parents want their 7-month-old son to “have a loving heart toward people who are different,” the Grammy winner, whose new album Storyteller is out Oct. 23, tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story.

“Mike and I talk about teaching him how to approach everybody in a loving way, even if they’re not the same, and to try to say, ‘You know what? God loves them, so it should be my job to do my best to love them as well.’ ”

Growing up in a conservative Christian home in Oklahoma, “there was a lot about church that was really scary to a child who can’t understand it all,” she says.

“We want to go to church, not just for lessons and learning, but also to have a community and be surrounded by people who are just trying to raise their kids up good. Keeping everything as loving as possible, you know?”

Carrie Underwood: My Marriage ‘Changed a Lot’ After Baby – ‘It’s a Whole New Dynamic’

Country star (and new mom!) Carrie Underwood opens up about body issues, breast-feeding struggles, and how she makes her marriage work. Subscribe now for exclusive family photos and an inside look into how she’s adjusting to motherhood, only in PEOPLE!

For nearly five years, Carrie Underwood and her husband, NHL star Mike Fisher, were a team of two.

That changed, of course, when they welcomed son Isaiah Michael last February.

Your marriage does change a lot when you have a baby — it’s a whole new dynamic,” she tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story. “Neither one of us had really been baby people or been around a ton of babies. We’re learning together.”

The singer, whose new album Storyteller (preorder it here), is out Oct. 23, admits that the added bustle of parenthood can make date-night time a challenge.

“You have to make it a point to not lose yourselves as a couple,” she says. “There’s so much going on, it becomes easy to not focus on your marriage anymore.”

Of recent high-profile breakups like friends Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, she says, “It makes you want to take stock of your own marriage. Like, ‘What do you need? Are you happy? What can I do to make things better?’ ”

Asked if she would ever consider couples therapy if they needed to she replies, “Definitely, yeah. We’ve never done it, but even if you don’t necessarily quote-unquote think you ‘need’ it, it might just be good to have that space to talk things out.”

When it comes to their own marriage, “I feel like Mike and I treat it like a partnership, which is a really good thing for both of us,” she says. “I’m not the maid and I’m not the cook, you know what I mean? I do those things when I do them because I like to and I want to. You just figure out your roles and the things that each of you do better, and you give and take.”

Carrie Underwood on Conquering Her Body Issues and Loving Her Post-Baby Figure

Country star (and new mom!) Carrie Underwood opens up about body issues, breast-feeding struggles, and how she makes her marriage work. Subscribe now for exclusive family photos and an inside look into how she’s adjusting to motherhood, only in PEOPLE!

It’s been 10 years since Carrie Underwood won American Idol — and the singer admits that back then, she wasn’t always happy with how she looked.

“I knew that I weighed more than I had ever weighed before,” she tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story.

“But then as soon as you start making little tweaks, people immediately go, ‘You look so great!’ Then you start wondering, ‘How bad did I look before?’ Then it’s like, ‘Well, I guess I should keep on going.’ Then you start eating less.”

Underwood, 32, admits that she turned to weight-loss supplements to slim down.

“I was taking things with ephedra in it,” she says. “It wasn’t the best way. If I could go back and talk to myself I’d be like, ‘Here’s how you do it the right way.’ ”

Asked if she ever had a problem, she answers, “No, because none of it was intentional, you know? I wasn’t eating enough calories, but it wasn’t because I was trying to starve myself. I just didn’t know how many calories I should be eating.”

And exercise was an afterthought: “I’d do 20 minutes on the elliptical and think I was doing awesome.”

Today the strict vegan, who hasn’t eaten meat in more than 20 years and works out daily (and looks stylish while doing it thanks to her activewear line Calia by Carrie Underwood), says she takes a healthier approach to her weight.

“I weigh more than I did when I was at my smallest, but I have a lot more muscle tone,” adds the CMA Awards host, whose new album, Storyteller (preorder it here), is out Oct. 23.

As for the changes in her body since delivering her first child, 7-month-old son Isaiah Michael, via C-section in February, “for some reason, I feel leaner after,” she says. “It’s really strange the way my body has reacted to exercise after having him. I feel like my bum’s a little nicer than it used to be.”

Then there’s the four-leaf clover abdominal tattoo that doesn’t quite line up after her C-section.

“It’s not really a four-leaf clover anymore, it’s a multileaf,” she says. “It doesn’t match up with the top! And I think most people deal with this after a C-section, there’s like a little pooch over the scar. It’s something that I’m probably going to have forever.”

Carrie Underwood Recalls Accidentally Locking Son Isaiah in Car: ‘It Was Such a Random Thing’

Rick Diamond/Getty

Carrie Underwood may be a seven-time Grammy winner, but she’s still prone to the accidents and scares that come with being a parent.

Nearly two months after her 6-month-old son Isaiah Michael was accidentally locked in the singer’s car, forcing her to break in, Underwood is finally opening up about what really went down.

“It was such a random thing, we were at the airport,” Underwood explains of the terrifying July incident during an interview with Lisa Dent & Ramblin’ Ray on their US99.5 radio show.

The singer and her husband, Nashville Predators player Mike Fisher, left their car on and doors open after parking and exiting the vehicle at the airport, giving one of their pet dogs the perfect opportunity to wreak havoc.

“My husband and I both got out at the same time, and both shut the door at the same time, and immediately one of our dogs — I still don’t know what one it was — jumped up on the control panel on the door,” she says.  “[We] heard the thing click, and I was like, ‘The doors locked, the doors locked, the doors locked.’ ”

Underwood, 32, who tweeted about the incident at the time it occurred, says that “nobody had a spare set of keys.”

After trying, unsuccessfully, to open the doors without force, the couple “ended up having to break the window.”

While baby Isaiah was more than okay, the car wasn’t. The ultimate kicker? The now damaged vehicle belonged to Underwood’s in-laws! “I don’t think our dogs will ever be invited back,” she jokes.

The country singer, whose upcoming album Storyteller is set to drop Oct. 23, also opened up about how her fans’ expectations of her have changed since she became a mother. Underwood admits she feels like listeners are expecting her to put out a record of children’s music.

“I’ve gotten so many questions about it,” she explains before joking, “Like I’m gonna write an entire album of baby lullaby songs or I’d be all of a sudden a wuss or something.”

The star insists while aspects of her life have undergone “inevitable” changes since Isaiah was born, her music will remain the same.

“It doesn’t change everything about me,” she shares. “It just added a wonderful new layer, a wonderful new dimension to my life.”

Meet Carrie Underwood’s New Workout Partner: Son Isaiah!

Carrie Underwood has found her new exercise partner.

While out for a jog — and an impromptu set of pull-ups on the playground — on Thursday, the new mom to 6-month-old son Isaiah Michael proved motherhood hasn’t put a damper on her fitness routine.

“Sometimes you have to work your baby into your workout … but that’s ok because the world is your playground!” Underwood, 32, captioned an Instagram of the mother and son getting their sweat on.

Dressed in a top and bottoms from her Calia by Carrie Underwood line, the “Smoke Break” singer waves to the camera as she runs down the sidewalk pushing her baby boy in his jogging stroller.

When he’s not pounding the pavement with Underwood, Isaiah is keeping up with his musical mama in another way. “Oh, just playing my piano in my blazer in the yard,” the American Idol alum wrote alongside a photo of her son making music.

“We’re laid-back parents and he’s a laid-back baby and … it surprised me that it’s a little easier than I thought it was gonna be,” Underwood told PEOPLE in June. “I think I just expected, like, screaming, crying baby all the time, and he’s just happy and smiley and gorgeous.”

Is Carrie Underwood Preaching A Pro-Cigarette Message With Her New Song Smoke Break? Listen And Decide For Yourself!

On Thursday, Carrie Underwood promised us a new song on Facebook and she certainly delivered!

Her latest single, Smoke Break, dropped on Friday and we LOVES it! On the track, the blonde beauty belts about sometimes needing to take a swig from a bottle or a drag from a cigarette when the going gets rough.

[ Related: Listen To JoJo's THREE New Singles! ]

So does that mean she's condoning smoking and drinking??? Not exactly!

Instead, she explained in a video on social media that the anthem is more about sharing experiences that we all can understand ourselves, regardless of whether or not we partake in these vices, saying:

"The song itself is just kind of one of those story songs that I feel like everybody can relate to, about how life is so hectic and it's so nice when, if and when, you actually get to kind of step away for a second."

That makes total sense, especially since her upcoming album is called Storyteller! Take a listen to the new track (below)!

And the 32-year-old is super psyched to share it with all her fans! She even took to Instagram to upload the artwork for it (below)!

Carrie Underwood is once again a literal hot mess on Instagram.

A few weeks after giving followers a look at herself mid-workout, the singer jumped back on social media and gave us a revealing look at herself post-workout.

Sweaty Carrie Underwood

"Cloudy but no rain = perfect day to run outside!" Underwood wrote as a caption.

"1mi treadmill warm up, tabata arms and abs, finish up with a 3 mile run/lunge up the hills. I'm a sweaty mess, but fortunately I have sweet Penny to help get me cleaned up! Ew.

The former American Idol champion also added the following hashtags to her post:

Underwood (who owns a line of Calia fitness clothing) has been hitting the gym often of late in order to lose weight and get in shape after giving birth to her first son, Isaiah.

The gorgeous star, meanwhile, is schedule to kick a brief U.S. tour, performing mostly at state fairs, on August 17.

Then, in November, she and fellow country artist Brad Paisley will host the CMA Awards together ... for the eighth time!
