After ‘Batman and Robin’, George Clooney Decided to Try Doing Good Movies Instead

George Clooney is basically some untouchable God who deigns to walk among us for some reason, sort of like Dr. Manhattan from The Watchmen but, I imagine, with a bigger (and less blue) hog. Look at the guy’s wife; she’s 20 years younger than him, drop-dead gorgeous and she’s a brilliant and internationally respected human rights lawyer. Look at his hair; I wish my hair looked like his and he does that with a Flowbee.

But George Clooney was not always a god among men, though. At one point, Clooney was just a hot TV doctor. Sure, he was in a lot of demand when ER was a massive hit, but when is the last time you saw Patrick Dempsey in an A-list film?

Clooney’s big break was playing Batman in Batman and Robin, or, it would have been had that movie not been a flaming pile of garbage. That movie was so bad (and Michael Keaton’s outings under the direction of Tim Burton were so good) that it could have completely torpedoed Clooney’s career. But George had an idea that really saved him and turned him into the figure of mild worship he is today: he decided to be in good movies.

Former Batman Clooney talked to former Catwoman Michelle Pfeiffer for Variety and mentioned how he learned from Batman and Robin.

After “Batman & Robin” came out, and it was a big bomb — you learn from your failures; you don’t learn from successes. So then I thought, I have to focus really on the script. It’s not just about my part; it’s about the whole movie. The next three films I did were “Out of Sight,” “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” and “Three Kings,” which were really great screenplays. They didn’t all do very well financially, but they were all critically well received.

It became clear to me that you can make a bad film out of a good script, but you can’t make a good film out of a bad script. I gravitate toward pieces that interest me. They don’t always end up working, because there are so many things that can go wrong, including me.

O Brother, Where Art Thou is a standout there for me, that is an amazing movie. After that, Clooney booked a remake of a Rat Pack heist movie called Ocean’s 11 and that is what made him a superstar.

Here’s What George Clooney Had to Say About Tom Cruise’s Outburst at ‘Mission: Impossible’ Crew

Did you think Tom Cruise may have over-reacted when he flipped out on the crew of the new Mission: Impossible film for not following the COVID guidelines the film is operating under? I think he was right, but a lot of people online were not on his side. I think presumably because they already (rightly) think Tom Cruise is an asshole.

Just because Tom Cruise sucks doesn’t mean he was wrong, though.

George Clooney was on Howard Stern today and he told Howard “He didn’t overreact because it is a problem. I have a friend who’s an AD on another TV show who just had the almost exact same thing happen with not quite as far out a response.”

In fact, a lot of Hollywood celebrities felt the same way as Clooney. Whoopi Goldberg said she understood Cruise’s reaction on The View and Josh Gad tweeted that Tom Cruise was right.

And yeah, Tom Cruise was right. COVID is a serious thing and we need to take it seriously. We can’t all be screwing around like Kirk Cameron and organizing a Merry Christmas super spreader event.

That’s why so many other Hollywood stars were willing to stand up for Cruise; we’re not taking this as seriously as we should and that’s why things are getting so bad right now. They’re about to get worse because everyone is going to ignore all the warnings again and travel for Christmas, including the people who are giving the warnings in a lot of cases. It’s not an ideal situation.

Tom Cruise sucks and maybe you want him to be nicer but if people would follow the rules to begin with we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

George Clooney Cuts His Hair With a Vacuum Cleaner

I’ve been trying to get my hair to look like George Clooney’s hair for most of my life. It sort of leans more to the guy who owns the comic book store on The Big Bang Theory, but definitely not Clooney even as it gets greyer.

Turns out the secret for Clooney’s impeccable coiffure is a food processor at the end of a vacuum cleaner.

Yes, the famous actor told CBS Sunday Morning he uses a Flowbee to cut his hair.

Okay, so I guess my problem is I was going to a barber instead of just breaking out a weed whacked and a Hoover.

Clooney says his hair is “like straw” and it’s impossible to make a mistake on, so his good looks are genetic. If you or I got a Flowbee, we would not look like George Clooney at the end of the day. You’re going to look like Eraserhead. At best.

Alleged Child Sex Trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell Used to Brag About How She Sucked Off George Clooney

It’s telling what sort of accomplishments people talk up and which ones they play down. It’s like how guys trying to pick up women for casual sex will talk about how much they love going down because they don’t want to lead with “well, the actual intercourse will be short and disappointing.” I mean, most guys, anyway.

If you’re an accused child sex trafficker like Ghislaine Maxwell, it makes sense you would focus on other accomplishments; Elon Musk wouldn’t take pictures with someone who went around telling everyone how she recruited so many 15-year-olds to have sex with rich old men and politicians. You know, probably.

But blowing George Clooney? That’s definitely the sort of thing you can get clout for in celebrity circles, and The Sun reports that’s exactly what Ghislaine Maxwell did.

In the book, Giuffre recalls that during the time she spent with the pair, Maxwell “loved to brag about her rendezvous with various lovers”.

“Once she came back giddy as a schoolgirl with an explosion of news, with all the build up and excitement in her voice you’d think she was the next crown princess,” Giuffre writes.

“She never let that one down.”

Giuffre is Virginia Giuffre, who claims Maxwell recruited her to work for Jeffrey Epstein, the pedophile pimp to the stars who “killed himself” last year, and the anecdote is part of a recently-unsealed manuscript written by Giuffre called The Billionaire Playboy’s Club.

The Sun made it clear that “There is no suggestion of any involvement by Clooney in underage sex, Epstein’s crimes, or other wrongdoing of any kind,” in case you were wondering. Maxwell would have been in her 40s at the time this allegedly occurred.

George Clooney: Meghan Markle Is Gonna End Up Like Princess Di!

If you've been following Meghan Markle's career as the first Duchess of Sussex, then you know her time in the spotlight has been largely defined by conflict.

There's Meghan's feud with Kate Middleton, the neverending hate she receives from her bitter half-sister, and of course, like just about every royal in the modern era, Meghan has been forced to do battle with the British tabloid press.

Meghan Markle Remembers

Now, the Brits might have a leg up on us Yanks in many respects.

For example, their racists just look down their noses at people of color, while ours don red hats and take to the streets in search of violent conflict.

But when it comes to a tabloid industry that functions entirely without scruples and frequently crosses the line between innocuous gossip and life-destroying libel, the Brits have no rival.

Meghan Markle with Her Ring

Part of the problem is that European public figures have little legal recourse, and the press enjoys freedoms that are unheard of elsewhere in the Western world.

In many cases, this leads to lies and misinformation spreading at an alarming rate.

In extreme cases, it leads to incidents like the death of Princess Diana.

Princess Diana Image

Diana was killed while being chased by paparazzi in France, not the UK, but it was British tabloids who turned details of her personal life into a precious commodity.

Now, at least one high-profile friend of Meghan's sees some disturbing parallels between her turmoil and the finals days of Diana.

George Clooney was one of several A-listers to attend Meghan and Harry's wedding back in May, and he's warning the press to back off before tragedy strikes again.

“They’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere, she’s been pursued and vilified,” Clooney told reporters at a press panel while promoting his new Hulu series.

“She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it’s history repeating itself.

“We’ve seen how that ends,” Clooney added in apparenty reference to Diana.

The Clooneys are There

As for the rumors that Clooney will be godfather to Meghan and Harry's child, the actor says the press can go ahead and dispose of that rumor post haste.

“Oh yes, I’ll be godfather of the royals apparently,” Clooney joked with reporters before adding an emphatic, “No!”

“I’m a father of twins, I have enough sh– to deal with — literally," he added.

He may have ended with a joke, but there's no mistaking the gravity of George's warning.

Angela Bassett Reacts After Being Misidentified as Omarosa Manigault in New York Times Caption

Angela Bassett has responded after she was misidentified in The New York Times as Omarosa Manigault-Newman.

On Tuesday morning, the newspaper published a photo of Rachel Brosnahan receiving her award for lead actress in a comedy series at the Emmy Award’s on Monday evening. The award was presented by Tiffany Haddish and Bassett, who were also both featured in the shot.

The only problem? In the NYT caption, Bassett, 60, was wrongly identified as former White House aide Manigault-Newman, 44.

To make matters worse, the Apprentice-contestant-turned-Trump-aide wasn’t even present at Monday night’s ceremony.

The outlet quickly addressed the mistake in a tweet on Tuesday, claiming the error was due to a “photo wire service in some early print editions.” They also noted that a correction would be issued in Wednesday’s paper.

However, some Twitter users were already fired up about the mistake.

“Do all dark skinned black women look the same to your editors??” wrote Joy Villa. “Gorgeous and talented Queen Angela Bassett looks nothing like that other one.”

Another user referred to the NYT’s error as “pathetic and disgusting” and compared it to mistaking George Clooney for U.S. Senator of Florida Marco Rubio at the Academy Awards.

“…you know, bc Marc Rubio is at the Academy Awards every year,” the user wrote. “….& bc all white ppl look alike too.”

Despite the backlash, there was one person who didn’t seem to be bothered by the mix-up: Bassett herself!

Acknowledging all of the angry tweets, the 9-1-1 actress addressed her supporters on Twitter with a simple two-word mantra.

“Hey Everybody, no worries!” she wrote, alongside a meme of Kerry Washington in Scandal that reads “It’s handled.”

Bassett has previously spoken out about racism, admitting to PEOPLE that her 12-year-old twins Bronwyn and Slater have already experienced race-related prejudices from their peers.

“Even from the age of four, from preschool, they’ve had to deal with — and as crazy as it seems or sounds — color issues,” she told PEOPLE’s Editor-in-Chief Jess Cagle in an episode of The Jess Cagle Interview. “Or because they were African Americans, and whether other kids will play with them or have issue with that.”

Added the 9-1-1 actress: “It can’t come from their young minds,” she said of her belief that kids aren’t born racist. “It’s something that they’ve heard somewhere.”

But while it seems Bassett has no problem brushing off an accidental mix-up nowadays, she hopes that her kids won’t have to endure the same type of experience one day.

“It makes you gasp and it just squeezes your heart sometimes, because you never want your kids to go through these sort of pain issues,” she said. “Or you thought it’d be much later, once they get a firm footing of who they are.”

9-1-1‘s season 2 two-night premiere airs Sunday, Sept. 23 and Monday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.

George Clooney Fought a Mercedes with a Scooter and Won

George Clooney was injured in a scooter accident on Tuesday morning. Don’t worry, his perfect face escaped any damage.

Clooney was riding his scooter in Olbia, Italy when a Mercedes crashed into him. Authorities say the person driving the Mercedes did not “respect the right of way.” You’d think someone driving a Mercedes would be more careful as to not run over anyone on a scooter. Mercedes are expensive. Scooters are like $50 in Italy because most of them get stolen anyway.

The actor was on his way to continue filming Catch-22 when he was blindsided. The driver attended to Clooney after the accident and called the proper authorities. Hopefully he was given a Good Samaritan badge for not fleeing the scene. We’ll just forget about the part where he could have killed a national treasure.

People reports that Clooney experienced “a slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm.” Clooney was treated at the local hospital and released shortly after.

His pelvis was probably more traumatized from marriage than this.

In exchange for not pressing charges, Clooney now has rights to a future movie scene involving him getting hit by a Mercedes and ending up just fine.

7 Celebs Who Have Had Extensive Dental Work To Create Their Perfect Smiles

Not all of our most desired Hollywood hunks and hotties were born with the sparkling smiles we’ve come to know and love. Perfect needs a little help sometimes, and plenty of Hollywood’s stars are no stranger to augmentation for the sake of beauty.

Let the proverbial cat out of the bag, and check out a brief look at a few popular celebrities who have had extensive dental work to achieve their perfect “grill.”

George Clooney

The Batman of the ‘90s and leader of Ocean’s Eleven didn’t always have such a suave smile. Clooney has a nervous condition which causes him to intensely grind his teeth when he is under stress. Clooney was effectively filing his teeth down to nothing.

Instead of investing in treatment and a mouth guard, Clooney chose to spend nearly $20,000 on a shiny new set of porcelain veneers.

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise is known for his “winning” smile, but those pearly whites didn’t come with the original package. Cruise has put his chompers through an extensive set of procedures for whitening and straightening.

After years of augmentation, Tom Cruise chose to end the madness. He made one final dental investment for a full set of porcelain veneers.

Zac Efron

Teenage Zac has a major gap between his two front teeth. Though his look was endearing, Hollywood saw something different. As the young actor made the transition from teenager to Hollywood hunk, the gap in his teeth magically disappeared.

Celine Dion

Celine grew up in the eyes of the public, so there is no doubting that her smile has had a little help along the way. From crooked-toothed teenager to stunning powerhouse, Celine has (like many others) invested in a complete set of veneers.

Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff started out with a better than average set of teeth, but ran into a terrible mishap one night during a performance. Duff reportedly knocked her front tooth on the microphone in a moment of charisma, which resulted in a noticeable chip.

Instead of repairing the tooth, Hilary chose to invest in a full set of veneers. A $20,000 insurance policy for your smile is just what you do when you’re a star.

Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey chipped his front tooth before he ever found fame, but his role in Dumb & Dumber gave him the bright idea to remove his cap. It worked, and the world remembers big hearted, snaggletoothed, Lloyd today.

After the movie wrapped, Carrey chose veneers instead of replacing the cap. His smile has never looked brighter.

Chris Rock

Funny man, Chris Rock got a major mouth makeover after appearing in the 1997 film Lethal Weapon. He spent his earnings from the movie on a perfect smile, which he continues to mention today. After spending $150,000, who wouldn’t gloat a little?

George Clooney: Accused of Sexual Harassment by ER Actress Vanessa Marquez?!

All the Harvey Weinstein news that's been coming out for the past several days ... it sure has been tough to stomach, huh?

Every single day -- sometimes it feels like nearly every single hour -- we hear new details about all the horrible things he's done throughout his career.

George Clooney is Sexy

A new woman comes forward with a new story, filled with new horrors, as if our faith in humanity wasn't shaky enough these days.

And the stories aren't even just limited to the crimes of Harvey Weinstein: tons of celebrities are feeling inspired to share stories of sexual harassment they've experienced throughout their careers, regardless of who the perpetrator was.

We've heard (or been reminded) of some pretty terrible tales about Ben Affleck, and actors like Terry Crews and James Van Der Beek have made it clear that men are victims of sexual assault in Hollywood, too.

But now we're hearing a new story -- one about George Clooney.

And it sure is a doozy.

Let's think back, around 20 years ago, to a time when George was on a little show called ER.

Vanessa Marquez

For the first three seasons of the show, George acted alongside a woman named Vanessa Marquez, who played the role of Nurse Wendy Goldman.

Vanessa didn't return for the fourth season though, and except for a few small roles here and there, she hasn't acted since.

And that's because, as she claims, she was blacklisted from the industry after speaking out about sexual harassment on the set of the show.

The whole thing began when George made a statement about Harvey Weinstein -- the two had worked together extensively over the years.

In the statement, he called Harvey's actions "indefensible," and claimed that "I've never seen any of this behavior -- ever."

Vanessa discussed the matter on Twitter, where she wrote "B.S. Clooney helped blacklist me when I spoke up abt harassment on ER. 'Women who don't play the game lose career' I did."

Vanessa Marquez Photo

She says that she's been telling this story since it happened over 20 years ago, but since George Clooney is such a beloved actor, no one believes her.

"Clooney is doing pre damage control," she theorized about his Harvey statements. "He has his own secrets and I know them!"

She called him a "predator" and a "hypocrite," and said that "He's not who he pretends to be," he's "a monster in his own way."

As for the harassment she faced on the set of ER, she said that she experienced both sexual assault -- she referred to what happened to her as "pussy grabbing" -- and that things also got racial, and she heard "Mexican jokes EVERY day."

"Happened to all the women," she claimed. "They chose 2 b victims. I fought."

To be clear, she never says that George was one of the people who harassed her on set, just that he was involved in blacklisting her after she brought the issue to light.

George Clooney is Handsome

Many people are alarmed at this story, because there's never really been any horror stories about George Clooney.

And George himself has already taken the time to address this story.

"I had no idea Vanessa was blacklisted," he said. "I take her at her word. I was not a writer or a producer or a director on that show."

"I had nothing to do with casting. I was an actor and only an actor. If she was told I was involved in any decision about her carer then she was lied to."

"The fact that I couldn't affect her career is only surpassed by the fact that I wouldn't," he concluded.

Vanessa, meanwhile, stands by her story.

What awful story are we going to hear next?

George Clooney Is Going to Shut Down an Entire Tabloid Over Photos of His Twins

George Clooney is pissed. And you’re not gonna like George Clooney when he’s pissed.

Clooney’s current anger is aimed at French tabloid Voici, which photographed Clooney and wife, Amal holding their month-old twins. If only had Amal just revealed her twins to the world in an over the top Instagram photo like Beyonce. Then paparazzi wouldn’t have to go to such great lengths to get these photos.

Here’s what Clooney said in a statement:

“Over the last week photographers from Voici magazine scaled our fence, climbed our tree and illegally took pictures of our infants inside our home. Make no mistake the photographers, the agency and the magazine will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The safety of our children demands it.”

I think Clooney was more upset about his dad bod on display than the photos of his children.

If I’m Voici, I’m very angry at this paparazzi member. Not because he did his scumbag job and went to great lengths to get invasive photos. But because the photos suck. It’s 2017 and you’re profession is to take photos. How the hell are the photos so grainy that the Zapruder film looks good in comparison?

I hope Voici made a ton of money off this issue and the paparazzi got paid well for the photos. Because Clooney doesn’t lose.

The U.K. Is Too Dangerous for George Clooney and His Twins

George Clooney may seem like the kind of guy who wants to live dangerously, but that is far from the truth. The recent dad just wants a safe place to be with his family. It looks like England can no longer be that place.

George and his wife Amal spend time in lots of swanky places, from London, to L.A. to New York, to the Italian countryside. Now he’s thinking about his family though, so wealth and class comes second to their safety.

“He’s determined to move his family to LA,” said a friend close to Clooney, “where he feels much more secure.”

It sounds like Amal really wants to live in the English countryside, but George wants to be close to the action. Sources say he’s practically ready to blow his brains out, which may be the real danger. One assumes he’s talking about the threat of terrorism, though it’s not like California has been free of mass murders recently.

It’s also not like George lives a life free of danger. He sort of likes to go do his liberal celebrity thing and get arrested. Really, it sounds like he’s just not adjusting well to his new life. Fatherhood was gonna come with changes Clooney, and you may have to do stuff for your family now.

George & Amal Clooney: Expecting Twins!

Well, it looks like twins are the hot new celebrity trend for 2017!

Just days after the world learned that Beyonce is pregnant with not one but two future music icons, People magazine is confirming that George and Amal Clooney are expecting a couple special deliveries of their own.

The magazine is reporting today that "multiple sources" have confirmed Amal is expecting twins.

George & Amal Clooney: 'Hail, Caeser!' Berlin Premiere

The Clooneys have yet to comment themselves, but People isn't Star magazine, and they wouldn't put something like this out there without sufficient confirmation.

Apparently, insiders revealed that George and Amal have both shared the news with their families and are preparing a public announcement for sometime in the days to come.

“They’re all very happy," says one source.

George and Amal married in 2014 after what we believe was just over a year of dating.

(They're notoriously private about their relationship.)

George Clooney and Amal Clooney

The couple's engagement came as a shock to fans, due to George's reputation as the archetypal Hollywood bachelor.

(In fact, he's been married once before, so that image was never entirely accurate.)

Despite the fact that she's remained committed to her challenging and time-consuming career as a human rights attorney, rumors that Amal was pregnant began circulating pretty much from the time the Clooneys got hitched.

Now, it looks as though both George and Amal will be getting a crash course in parenting.

George & Amal Clooney: 'Hail, Caeser!' Premiere

George has addressed the possibility of fatherhood in the past but always seemed to remain guarded on the topic:

“All I know is that it sort of changed everything in terms of what I thought my future – my future personal future – was going to be,” he told People shortly after his wedding.

“I’ve always been an optimist about the world. I wasn’t always completely optimistic about how it was going to work out personally for me. But now I am.”

Speaking more specifically about the idea of fatherhood after receiving the magazine's Sexiest Man Alive title for the second time, Clooney said:

Amal Clooney at Charlotte Tilbury's Naughty Christmas Party

“I think it’s the most responsible thing you can do, to have kids. It’s not something to be taken lightly."

He added:

“I don’t have that gene that people have to replicate. But everything in my life has changed over time.”

Congrats to the happy couple.

We're sure they'll excel at parenting the same way they've excelled at ... well, just about everything else in life.

4 Popular Male Celebs Who Got Injured While Filming

Accidents can happen any time and anywhere and nobody is exempted. Even the rich and famous celebrities do experience it when they least expect it. And the unexpected sometimes happen during filming.

Hollywood celebrities, notably the men, sometimes like to do the difficult action scenes themselves with no double. But things can go wrong at times leaving them injured.

Get to know here who among the popular male Hollywood celebrities had experienced getting injured on the set.

Sylvester Stallone

It was during the filming of Rocky IV that lead actor Sylvester Stallone got hurt. And it happend during an important scene between Rocky Balboa and Ivan Drago played by Dolph Lundgren.

The unfortunate scene happened when Lundgren hit Stallone in the chest during a climactic fight. Stallone actually instructed the well-built actor to knock him out but Lundgren hit him so hard resulting in the swelling of his pericardial sac which then began pressing against his heart. The actor was then airlifted to St. John’s in Santa Monica, California where he stayed in intensive care for nine days.

At first, Stallone’s insurer Lloyd’s of London did not want to pay his medical bills. It was only after watching the footage of the fight scene that they were convinced about what happened to the actor.

Injuries sustained by actors on the set should be covered by insurance, according to Curtis Quay. Their health insurance will help pay for their medical bills while undergoing treatment.

Channing Tatum

The year 2009 was not so lucky for Channing Tatum as he got into a minor accident. The actor was filming a scene for “The Eagle” in Scotland where he should wade through icy water. In between takes, he had to be kept warm and a crew member was tasked to mix boiling water and river water and pour it into Tatum’s wetsuit.

After the shooting wrapped up that day, Tatum wanted to indulge in one last splash of warm water. Unfortunately, the crew member assigned to him forgot to mix the hot water with cold water. That incident led the actor to partially suffer from burns including his private parts. He was immediately brought to the hospital which was an hour away and was bandaged up.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Best actor Leonardo DiCaprio also had his share of injuries on the set. One time, he accidentally cut his hand when he slammed it into a glass during a scene where he was having a heated monologue for the movie Django Unchained released in 2012. But instead of asking for medical attention right away, the actor continued the scene and used his real injury to improve on his acting. When you get to watch the film again, you now know that it was his own blood that he used to smear across his face while playing the role of Kerry Washington.

George Clooney

The dashing actor, George Clooney, is not exempted from accidents. He, too, hurt his spine in 2005 while filming for Syriana. And it was not a simple injury as he was expelling spinal fluid from his nose when that happened.

Clooney related to Rolling Stone magazine in 2011 that his spinal injury caused severe migraines and even prompted him to think about ending his life. He said he was not able to move then while on the hospital bed with an IV in his arm describing his condition as similar to suffering from a stroke.

While in some cases this is undoubtedly true, there are a few stars who spent their time working their way to the top. Included here are a few celebrities who worked real jobs before they become famous.

Brad Pitt

While it may be surprising to know that Pitt attended college, he was actually only two credits short of his degree in journalism before the lure of the screen attracted him to LA. While living in Los Angeles and waiting for his big break, Pitt worked a variety of jobs, from delivering refrigerators to dancing around as a chicken.

Before making it the American Bandstand, pop icon Madonna worked as a showgirl in France for a time. In New York City, Madonna worked at a Dunkin’ Donuts stand in Times Square. Madonna managed to lose her job in a way most of us can only dream of, by squirting jelly donut filling all over a customer.

Ashton Kutcher

In spite of his outward appearance, Ashton Kutcher is a fairly intelligent man with time spent pursuing a biomedical degree at University of Iowa. Kutcher is rumored to have spent time sweeping cereal dust at a General Mills factory and frequently donated his blood to help with living expenses.

George Clooney

This famous actor had baseball dreams in high school that never quite panned out. Following his rejection from the Cincinnati Reds, Clooney decided to go to school and pursue a degree as a broadcast journalist. Before moving to LA, Clooney also worked as a tobacco farm hand and a shoe salesman.

Sandra Bullock

While some stars seem to barely think about acting before they make it big, Sandra Bullock had to earn her spot on the screen. Before her big break, Bullock was a starving artist in New York City. She worked as a waitress and bartender to support herself in the early stages of her career.

Harrison Ford

Before his big breaks into show biz with Star Wars and Indiana Jones, Ford had to pull his own weight at a few less than glamorous jobs. Ford worked as a custom furniture builder and sports commentator in high school. Serving in the boy scouts was also important to Ford as he worked at an adventure camp helping scouts earn their reptile merit badge.

Jennifer Aniston

Before her break on the big screen through “Friends,” Aniston worked as a telemarketer and a waitress. Waiting for her chance to shine she also spent days as a bike messenger and spokesmodel on “The Howard Stern Show.”

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin Adopt Dog, Get Even Cuter

As it turns out, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are not getting a divorce because Clooney has been having a gay affair.

Shocking, we know.

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin and a Dog

But the actor and his wildly intelligent wife have arrived a major decision in their life, it just doesn't involve splitting up.

It involves becoming new parents! No, sorry, Amal is not pregnant.

Instead, George and Amal visited the San Gabriel Valley Human Society earlier this week and left with Millie, a short-legged, long-eared basset hound who may actually be cuter than Clooney himself.

"It was a happy day at the shelter for Millie!" the shelter wrote on its website on Wednesday.

"She is a four-year-old Basset Hound mix with gorgeous looks that would land her on any 'Hush Puppies' commercial!

"Millie was found without a home and hoping for food scraps outside of a local restaurant in San Gabriel earlier this month. Today her luck changed for the better when she was adopted by George and Amal Clooney."

The famous tandem were already parents to an adopted cocker spaniel named Louie, who they brought in to meet Millie to make sure the canines got along.

According to Us Weekly, meanwhile, the Clooneys may soon be adding to their family in a very different way.

"They recently visited a fertility center," a source told the tabloid. "[A baby] is something they really want."

George Clooney: Caught in Gay Affair?!?!?

George Clooney has been married for just over a year.

And, during this brief period of time, tabloids have written ad nauseam that the actor and wife Amal were headed for a divorce.

It was going to happen any day now, according to a tabloid story in April.

The marriage could not even last 87 days, according to a different tabloid story.

The split is about to turn nasty, a third story hilarious screamed.

But The National Enquirer deserves mad props for coming up with the most outlandish reason yet why Clooney will apparently be breaking up with Amal:

Because he's engaged in an affair! WITH ANOTHER MAN!

To prove this alleged point, the publication has printed what it deems to be “gay photos that will destroy the marriage,” pointing an arrow at a picture of some dude kissing Clooney on the cheek.

Nevermind that the dude in question is former ER co-star Noah Wyle and that the picture was snapped (this is not a joke) at the premiere of the film Desperado.

Which took place 20 years ago.

These "secret spy photos” could still "seal the deal on [Clooney's] $220 million divorce," dammit!

If you choose to believe The National Enquirer for some off reason.

That's entirely up to you, but it may be time for magazines around the world to simply accept the fact that George and Amal are very happily married.

Sorry. We know how boring that must be for you.

George Clooney and Stephen Colbert Film Fake Movie Trailer

george clooney fake trailer for colbert

Stephen Colbert premiered his new late night talk show last night, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. First guests included Jeb Bush and George Clooney. Not sure how it went because I was too busy making love to my harem. Evidently, Clooney didn’t have anything to promote, so instead, he promoted a fake movie trailer, Decision Strike. In it, Clooney plays Secretary of the United Nations who alternatively saves the world, makes love to a woman and hangs out an airplane. The gimmick here is that all the action takes place in his dressing room and after someone knocks on his dressing room door. Hollywood is so starved for ideas right now, they might actually run with this parody.

First Look At Film ‘Our Brand Is Crisis’ Flips The Script In A Big Way [WATCH]

Today, the first trailer for Our Brand Is Crisis was released, alongside a story that reveals much about the film’s production process and casting choices. The movie stars Sandra Bullock and Billy Bob Thornton, and was developed and produced by George Clooney. But the most interesting part of this movie is, in my opinion, the casting changes that led to Sandra Bullock being cast in a role originally written for George Clooney.

Apparently, as Sandra Bullock told Entertainment Weekly, the role was originally written for Clooney, but that she was excited to see if they would be interested in having a female actor play the role instead. She said, “About two and a half years ago I put out feelers saying, ‘I’m not reading anything I’m excited about. Are there any male roles out there that [the filmmakers] don’t mind switching to female?’ ”

Bullock reached out to Clooney about his project Our Brand Is Crisis, inspired by the 2005 documentary of the same name, and found that he was receptive to the change.

In the new film, Bullock plays “Calamity” Jane Bodine, a political strategist lured out of retirement to help the president of Bolivia, Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada, get reelected. Bodine’s character is brilliant, assertive, cunning, and as the trailer suggests, has a growing kindness and humanity.

The release of the film was meant to coincide with the United States’s growing interest in politics and elections, seeing as our own presidential election will take place next year. But the making of this film also sheds light on another social issue.

Bullock’s statements to the press underline a big problem in Hollywood, one that was also suggested recently by Anne Hathaway, namely, sexism and ageism in the industry.

It’s a shame how few interesting, complex, dynamic, and worthwhile roles for women there are in Hollywood that an Oscar winner wasn’t reading anything she actually wanted to play. It’s also a sign of sexism that Bullock immediately thought of roles for men, and thought that she obviously could play them just as well. Why aren’t there equivalent roles written for female actors in the industry, especially those who have proven their talent and popularity? Why is no one writing roles specifically for Bullock?

Anne Hathaway also recently shed light on sexism/ageism in Hollywood (as these two often coalesce for female actors). In an interview with Glamour UK, Hathaway revealed that she is already a victim of ageism, and she’s only in her early 30s. However, she also stated that she’s aware of the other side of the coin, that the ageism she’s now experiencing was actually benefitting her 10 years ago:

“When I was in my early 20s, parts would be written for women in their 50s and I would get them. And now I’m in my early 30s, and I’m like, ‘Why did that 24-year-old get that part?’ I was that 24-year-old once. I can’t be upset about it; it’s the way things are.”

Hathaway seems content with a system that’s fit to ignore a woman over a certain age, but [...]

The Associated Press Is Taking Heat For Referring To Amal Clooney Only As ‘Actor’s Wife’ — See The Controversial Tweet HERE!

Yes, it's true that Amal Clooney is the wife of actor George Clooney.

But it's also true that she's a world-renowned human rights lawyer representing a variety of people who have been wronged.

The Associated Press must have forgotten that on Saturday, because they sent out this tweet (below) about Amal representing a journalist that had been jailed in Egypt:

Um... what the what?! What does being an actor's wife have anything to do with her work for human rights?? Come on, Associated Press -- do better!!

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but they took a ton of heat from people on Twitter over their mis-characterization of Amal.

Just hours later, they sent a new tweet out that was much improved:

Now we're getting somewhere, y'all.

It's tough enough for women to gain the respect of their colleagues in many historically male-dominated fields -- they don't need the AP working against them, too!

George Clooney Handcuffs Himself to David Letterman

None of us wants to see David Letterman leave The Late Show.

The guy is flat out hilarious, as evidenced by these memorable David Letterman moments.

But George Clooney took things to an extreme last night, appearing as a guest on one of Letterman's final episodes and eschewing all talk about his marriage to Amal Alamuddin.

He had something else he wanted to say... or something else he wanted to say, actually.

George Clooney wanted to handcuff himself to David Letterman (using an item the host joked must have been left over from his "bachelor days").

Watch him do exactly that in this sneak peek
