Kelly Clarkson to Ex-Husband: GTFO of My House!!!

As previously rreported, it is now official:

Kelly Clarkson is miss independent.

In June 2020, the singer/talk show host/American Idol champion filed to divorce husband Brandon Blackstock after seven years of marriage.

Things turned pretty ugly between the pair almost immediately, too.

Kelly Clarkson at Billboard Awards

Six months after filing for divorce from Blackstock, Clarkson submitted legal documents that alleged her estranged husband and his dad Narvel Blackstock’s management company defrauded her out of millions of dollars.

Yikes, right?!?

Blackstock then went ahead and asked for $436,000 a month in support from his famous ex -- which is the actual number and everything.

We double checked.

Kelly Clarkson is the Best

Just a few days ago, however, a judge ruled in favor of Clarkson where it mattered most:

He stated that the prenuptial agreement signed years ago by both parties is perfectly legal and valid, meaning Clarkson gets to keep all the money and all the assets she earned during the duration of her marriage.

Why is this a major victory?

Because Clarkson makes about $15 million per month and Brandon makes $10,000 per month.

Clarkson is also now considered the sole owner of the former couple's ranch in Montana... where Blackstock has been residing since the couple split.

According to TMZ, Clarkson is therefore likely to file a new motion that either forces Blackstock to move out ASAP -- or makes it clear he must accommodate open houses and everything else affiliated with a sale until a new owner moves in.

The main point here being as follows:

Brandon best start looking for a new residence.

Brandon Blackstock and Kelly

Kelly, for her part, spent the weekend celebrating her gigantic financial win.

On Friday, the singer shared a photo of herself and two of her friends, posing together at TopGolf, a fun driving range and bar in Las Vegas.

Though the trio are being responsible and wearing their masks and sunglasses, but it's evident they are all smiles, embracing in a huddle.

"Friends, Vegas, Top Golf, and George Strait... I dare you to have a better time than me right now," Clarkson captioned the snapshot, rubbing her great mood in the face of her ex.

In related news, the artist has asked to legally change her name moving forward.

"Petitioner requests restoration of the former name as set forth in the proposed judgment" a submitted-document states, according to The Blast.

Clarkson is also asking for a default judgment in her case in order to finalize her divorce, the same outlet reports.

Brandon Blackstock, Wife

As mentioned above, the superstar filed for divorce in June 2020, and was granted custody of her two children -- daughter River Rose, 7, and son Remington Alexander, 5 -- back in November.

In July, Clarkson requested that a judge sign off on the divorce and declare her legally single, writing in a declaration to the court that both she and Blackstock "both deserve the opportunity to build a new life."

Kelly is on her way to happily doing so.

Brandon, conversely, may find it a bit more challenging.

Kelly Clarkson as Host

"Kelly is more than fine.

"She is doing great and facing forward," a source recently told People Magazine.

"She's enjoying the fact that she has the kids for the vast majority of the time and is enjoying time spent with them."

Kelly Clarkson Awarded Almost Everything in Divorce After Judge Enforces Prenup

Last year, Kelly Clarkson filed to divorce her husband of seven years.

Now it's over, with Kelly paying a hefty amount of support every month to her ex-husband.

But not everything has gone Brandon Blackstock's way during the division of assets.

The court has upheld their prenup ... and awarded a sizable Montana property to Kelly, not to him.

Brandon Blackstock and Kelly Clarkson in 2018

On Thursday, August 12, TMZ reported on how the division of property went between Kelly Clarkson and her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.

Most of the former couple's assets have been awarded to Kelly.

That includes a ranch in Montana where her ex-husband has been living.

Earlier this week, Kelly filed documents with the court describing her intentions.

She stated her aim to sell the ranch, citing it as a "financial burden."

At the time, that request was denied so long as Brandon continued to make the necessary payments to maintain the ranch.

Kelly and Brandon Blackstock Years Ago

Months ago, Brandon testified to the court that he aspires to work as a full-time rancher.

This would mean leaving behind his established career as a music manager in the entertainment industry.

According to what he said in court, he has made significant and conscious changes and plans in order to pivot in this way.

Brandon Blackstock with Kelly Clarkson

TMZ reports that Kelly was on the set of The Voice on Wednesday when she was notified of the court's new decision.

The prenuptial agreement signed by both parties is being upheld by the judge.

Brandon had asked that it be set aside, that they split the value of all marital property equally including money earned by Kelly since they married.

Brandon Blackstock and Kelly

Instead, the court is handing basically everything to Kelly, as she was the primary breadwinner.

Given that this includes the ranch in Montana where Brandon has been living, it seems that the court's previous order no longer stands.

Kelly will likely very soon be free to sell the property as she sees fit.

Brandon Blackstock Dances with Kelly Clarkson

Given that Kelly reportedly let out a scream of joy upon the news, this doesn't feel like the kind of divorce where she'll simply sell to Brandon at a generously low price.

She is already paying him nearly $200,000 per month in support.

Though that is a large amount, Brandon reportedly sought something in the neighborhood of twice that figure.

Brandon Blackstock and Family

A little under $50,000 per month is child support for his time with their two children.

They share two young children, one 5 and one 7, though Kelly has primary custody.

The rest of the montly payments -- $150,000 per month -- is in accordance with a temporary order of spousal support.

There is a lot to be said about how divorces play out and how there are often "winners" and "losers" where once there was genuine love.

It's a complicated system to deal with a host of complicated situations.

Sometimes, one spouse is genuinely bad. Other times, love turns to bitterness and both parties lash out in pain.

A Kiss for Brandon Blackstock

For Kelly and Brandon, it appears that they simply grew apart over time.

That was worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

As we all know, some of us were very lucky in our living situations. Others found themselves more miserable than ever.

Brandon Blackstock, Wife

When you're a pair of busy professionals, it can be easy to ignore some problems at home.

When you suddenly find yourselves occupying the same house (no matter how massive) and rarely leaving it, those quiet problems come to a boil.

Reportedly, the ways in which they had grown apart were impossible to ignore or work through, and the marriage ended.

Kelly Clarkson Ordered to Pay HOW Much Monthly Support to Ex-Husband?

Last year, the world was stunned when Kelly Clarkson filed to divorce her husband.

She and Brandon Blackstock had been married for seven years, and things did not end well.

The interpersonal conflicts that ended their marriage were followed by legal battles on multiple fronts.

Now, the court has ordered Kelly's support payments -- and it will add up to a small fortune.

Kelly and Brandon Blackstock Years Ago

Kelly and Brandon share legal and physical custody, with the children primarily residing with Kelly in California.

In court, Brandon was seeking $436,000 a month in total support.

$301,000 was to be in spousal support as her ex-husband, with $135,000 to be paid in child support.

A Kiss for Brandon Blackstock

During the course of their legal struggle, Brandon also incurred massive attorney fees.

He asked the court to delegate those fees to Kelly, as the wealthier of the two, to pay.

Now the court has reached its decision.

Brandon Blackstock, Wife

The court has ordered Kelly to pay $150,000 a month to Brandon in spousal support.

In addition, a total of $45,601 per month will be paid to him in child support.

The exes share a six-year-old, River Rose, and a four-year-old, Remington Alexander.

Kelly Clarkson as Host

This means approximately $200,000 per month in support payments.

That totals to nearly $2.4 million in support payments per year.

That is a hefty sum, but it's also less than half of what Brandon was reportedly seeking.

Brandon Blackstock and Family

Of course, it's also not all.

Kelly is ordered to pay $1.25 million in attorney's fees and additional costs incurred by Brandon during this financial battle.

Online estimates put Kelly's estimated net worth at around $45 million, and that amount seems likely to grow in the near future.

Kelly Clarkson Sings a Hit

Kelly Clarkson is the new Ellen DeGeneres, in a manner of speaking.

She's not a human rights trailblazer who gradually alienated her fans through rumor before scandal tarnished her brand despite her widely loved wife.

Rather, we mean that she is taking Ellen's coveted television spot, replacing one talk show with another after Ellen retires next year.

Brandon Blackstock and Kelly Clarkson in 2018

Kelly had already been doing well in her own timeslot, but soon she will be an afternoon talkshow powerhouse.

At least, that is the network's hope.

It may not seem obvious or intuitive to many of us, but a lot of people like Kelly Clarkson and think that she's "real" and "nice."

Brandon Blackstock and Kelly

Of course, authenticity and kindness -- alleged or actual -- were not what sealed the fate of Kelly's marriage.

Reports last year described how she and Brandon had drifted apart during the course of their marriage.

Despite Kelly hyping up their union in public, they had fundamentally different dispositions and had clashed more and more.

Kelly Clarkson at the BMAs

According to reports, the pandemic lockdown made things worse for them.

The couple left the city to reside in Montana with their children.

Reportedly, being "cooped up" together made things worse.

Kelly Clarkson with a White Rose

Like many couples discovered when their routines were disrupted by the lockdowns, familiarity can breed contempt.

Some people can dislike each other and ignore that feeling as they go through their regular routines.

If they're suddenly "stuck" together, they'll either remember why they first fell in love ... or totally fall apart. Kelly and Brandon went the latter route.

Ellen DeGeneres: Replaced by Kelly Clarkson!!

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Ellen DeGeneres' talk show will end after 19 seasons.

There was a lot of baggage with the show and its titular star, but it occupied a coveted daytime timeslot.

So naturally, the world was wondering: just who will replace Ellen?

Now, we have our official answer for who will take the reins in 2022.

Ellen DeGeneres Returns After COVID

On Wednesday, May 26, NBCUniversal Local president Valari Staab released a statement.

“We look forward to Ellen DeGeneres’ 19th season," the statement affirmed.

The statement noted that this season will be "paired with Kelly Clarkson for what is sure to be a blockbuster year."

Kelly Clarkson as Host

"By 2022, The Kelly Clarkson Show will be the star of our daytime entertainment schedules," Staab's statement continued.

"And," it continued, "an asset to our early afternoon newscasts."

In other words, yes, the speculation was correct -- Kelly Clarkson, for better or for worse, is Ellen's daytime TV heir apparent.

Ellen DeGeneres on the Set

EVP Tracie Wilson also spoke about the network's high hopes.

“The Kelly Clarkson Show is one of the most optimistic success stories in first-run syndication," Wilson's statement characterized.

"It is a treasured part of NBCUniversal Syndication Studios offering," Wilson continued.

Kelly Clarkson Sings a Hit

"And," Wilson's statement added, "we are proud to partner with the NBC Owned Television Stations group to continue the show’s success."

"Kelly and our entire production team put their heart, intent, and incredible passion," the statement said.

Wilson continued: "into making a show that resonates with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds."

Ellen DeGeneres Isn't Nice

"We’re working on some big plans for season 3," Wilson said of Kelly Clarkson's show.

"And," the statement emphasized, "are looking forward to becoming the premier show in daytime for years to come.”

Well, that definitely sounds optimistic.

Kelly Clarkson at the BMAs

Ellen announced a few weeks ago that her show will end after 19 seasons.

This is not an immediate end, as the series will run into 2022.

Now we know that Kelly Clarkson's show will be occupying that coveted afternoon timeslot.

Ellen DeGeneres in White

Ellen's show was mired in controversy for the past year or so.

Accusations of a toxic and oppressive work culture spilled out into the open.

The floodgates opened after staffers were told to expect vicious pay cuts during the pandemic.

Kelly Clarkson as Voice Coach

It turns out that people who've told themselves "I'll keep quiet for the money" change their tune when the money's no longer good.

But let's face it: no one should have to endure a toxic work environment, no matter what they're paid.

Interestingly, the show fired two high-level producers and made promises to the staff ... but seemingly considered the matter closed.

Ellen DeGeneres Sucks?

What's so interesting abou tthat is that, well, some of the accusations about toxic behavior were about Ellen herself.

In fact, for years, there had been whispers about Ellen's behavior not matching up with her friendly, "kind" TV persona.

This wasn't just about on-set behavior. There were horror stories from waiters and hotel employees.

Kelly Clarkson, The Voice Season 14

Deliberately trying to get a service employee fired or reprimanded is almost always uncalled for.

Unless they stab you or call you a slur, you realize that everybody has "off days" and you tip at least 20%.

Hearing that Ellen was a "may I speak to the manager" type of person was disheartening even before all of this came out.

Ellen DeGeneres on Season 18

The narrative about her show was then a simple one:

Fans were told that the two high-level producers were fired and the problem solved.

As for everything that people heard about Ellen herself? We are all meant to forget it.

Kelly Clarkson Globes Photo

But Ellen has repeatedly claimed that the controversy did not fuel her decision to end the show.

Instead, she has said, it was simply time -- in her contract, but also time because she doesn't feel "challenged."

She's taking her giant pile of money and going home, and it's Kelly Clarkson's turn.

Rumor: Ellen DeGeneres is on Her Way Out, Kelly Clarkson Will Get Her Timeslot

Ellen DeGeneres might just be at the end of her reign as the queen of daytime TV. Ellen’s show, which she all but inherited from Rosie O’Donnell mixed the celebrity interviews and monologue format of late-night talk shows with the prizes and giveaways of daytime shows like Oprah and Live with Regis and Kathy Lee. Even though I think Ellen was a fantastic stand-up comic, her daytime show brought her the kind of fame and adoration she never really got from stand-up or prime time sitcoms.

That has all come crashing down around her with reports that she’s not as nice backstage as her public image lead people to believe.

Ellen thought she could weather the storm by passing the buck and throwing some producers under the bus, but since her return to daytime TV her ratings are down and her contract is almost at an end.

Page Six reports that her replacement has become obvious as she enters negotiations next month about the future of her show, and it’s The Kelly Clarkson Show that airs right after Ellen in most markets.

We’re told that NBC chiefs wooed pop star Clarkson, 38, for years before she launched her eponymous show — produced and distributed by NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution — in September 2019.

It became the most-watched new daytime talk show in seven years, winning three Daytime Emmys last year, including one for Clarkson as best entertainment talk show host.

Last month, “The Kelly Clarkson Show” hit a season high — and matched DeGeneres’ numbers for the first time.

Of course, Telepictures, the production company behind The Ellen DeGeneres Show and not The Kelly Clarkson Show, is likely to look to replace Ellen the way that she replaced Rosie O’Donnell after she ended her similarly-formatted TV show in 2002 and hold onto the 3 PM timeslot.

We could be looking at a daytime talk show war of the kind that’s usually reserved for late-night shuffles involving Jay Leno.

Kelly Clarkson Stuns the Nation, Files to Divorce Brandon Blackstock

In a shocking romantic development, Kelly Clarkson has made it clear:

She wants to once again be miss indepedent.

Brandon Blackstock and Kelly

Multiple outlets have confirmed that the singer has filed to divorce Brandon Blackstock, her husband of seven years.

According to court documents obtained by E! News, People Magazine and others, the American Idol champion quietly filed the necessary paperwork in Los Angeles on June 4, citing irreconcilable differences.

The date of separation is listed as "TBD."

Kelly and Brandon Blackstock Years Ago

The couple -- who has two kids together (daughter River Rose, 6; and son Remington Alexander, 4) -- have been married since 2013 and came across for years as one of the happiest and most stable tandems in Hollywood.

Blackstock also has two children (son Seth, 13; and daughter Savannah, 18) from a previous marriage and Clarkson is asking for joint legal and physical custody.

The artist met the music manager at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006.

They got engaged in December of 2012.

Brandon Blackstock, Wife

"I'M ENGAGED!!!! I wanted y'all to know!!" Clarkson wrote at the time. "Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever."

She has since gushed uncontrollably over Blackstock on multiple occasions.

As recently as this past December, Clarkson even told the world that she and her husband had intercourse on a nightly basis.

No, really. She said this.

A Kiss for Brandon Blackstock

"I was single for many years, so…I have children and how one makes children is generally what I do before bed," she told a fan during an Ask-Me-Anything session when asked about her evening routine.

"That’s not a lie, that’s real! And it’s not weird, it’s natural," Clarkson then insisted.

After exchanging vows in Tennessee, Clarkson told Cosmopolitan:

"Brandon's totally the one. I've never been so happy."

Brandon Blackstock and Family

Fast forward to 2017 and an interview Clarkson gave to SiriusXM.

"This isn't a downer to anybody I dated before him, but I’m just going to be real: I never felt like, honestly, sexually attracted to anybody before him," she said.

"And I'm not downing my exes, you know, everybody’s different. But there was something about him.

"I honestly thought I was asexual — I’d never been turned on like that in my whole life. I was like, ‘Oh that’s that feeling … okay!'"

Kelly Clarkson as Host

More recently, for Clarkson's 38th birthday in late April, Blackstock and their kids made a special video for The Voice coach.

"Happy birthday baby. I love you more than you'll ever know," Blackstock said in the footage, which also starred featured sons Remy and Seth as well as daughter River.

"Just now seeing this and I am bawling! They're all so cute!" Kelly wrote on Twitter with video of the surprise.

"I've had a bit of a rough week and this just turned it around."

Kelly Clarkson Sings a Hit

But things change, of course.

Clarkson is yet to comment on the split, although she may sing about it someday.

The singer has recorded multiple songs about her marriage, including the emotional “Piece by Piece” and the celebratory “Tie It Up.”

Now that she's on her own again, though, we've got a feeling she'll be queuing up “Stronger" on repeat.

We wish nothing but the best to Kelly and Brandon.

Kelly Clarkson: My Husband and I Get It On Every Night!

Kelly Clarkson has made it very clear in a very revealing new interview:

Her life would seriously suck without husband Brandon Blackstock.

Her love life, that is. Or, to be more specific and a tad more X-rated, her MAKING love life.

Brandon Blackstock, Wife

The original American Idol champion, who is now a beloved talk show host, took fans by extreme surprise during a sit-down interview with The  Voice season 14 winner Brynn Cartelli on Thursday.

At one point, the multiple-time Grammy winner decided to host an AMA (a.k.a. Ask Me Anything) -- and she very much abided by this acronym... because she truly meant anything.

After talking about their must-haves on a deserted island  -- what albums for Kelly, what food for Brynn -- the 16-year-old asked about Kelly's night time routine.

A seemingly pretty tame question, right?

A Kiss for Brandon Blackstock

"This is actually one I always think about because I see it in interviews all the time and I always think about asking everybody this because it's so interesting to me," Brynn began, inquiring:

"What's the last thing you do before you go to bed every night?"

Does Clarkson wash her face? Check out some Trevor Noah?

Maybe and maybe.

But, to be blunt, she also goes to Pound Town her husband.

Brandon Blackstock and Family

"Well, Brynn," a blushing Kelly said with a laugh, "I was single for many years, so…I have children and how one makes children is generally what I do before bed."

LOL, right? You go, Kelly!

"That’s not a lie, that’s real! And it’s not weird, it’s natural," Clarkson then insisted, feeling a need to defend herself, despite all listeners likely just reacting to her response with admiration and jealousy.

Kelly Clarkson as Host

Cartelli’s response? “And this is why America loves you!”

She's right, of course.

Along with Clarkson's incredible vocal talent, it's always been her honest and her relatability that have helped elevate her to the top the music business.

Kelly Clarkson Sings a Hit

Clarkson has never shied away from discussing her private time with Blackstock, with whom she shares five-year-old daughter River and three-year-old son Remy.

(Having two young kids and still maintaining this sort of sex life is simply remarkable.)

The artist is also the stepmother to Blackstock 17-year-old daughter, Savannah, and 12-year-old son, Seth, from his previous marriage to Melissa Ashworth.

"Any time we’re in a discussion about sex with a bunch of couples, Brandon and I stay pretty quiet. To keep it family appropriate, let’s say we’re just a lot more active than other couples,” Clarkson told Redbook in November 2017, adding:

“I’m a person who loves change. He loves spontaneity. Having a set time or place [to have sex] would be boring to us."

Kelly Clarkson at the BMAs

She also said this at the time:

"I never felt like, honesty, sexually attracted to anybody before him.

"And I'm not downing my exes. You know, everybody's different. But there was something about him. I honestly thought I was asexual—I'd never been turned on like that in my whole life.

"I was like, 'Oh that's that feeling...OK! That's what they were talking about in Waiting to Exhale. I just got it. I just didn't have a clue."

Kelly Clarkson, The Voice Season 14

And this didn't change when Clarkson had kids?

Nope. Quite the opposite.

"Becoming a mother and a wife, I mean, it sounds funny, but I've never felt sexier," she has said. "I've never felt more confident. I've never felt more empowered."

MTV VMAs Flashback: Ladies and Gentlemen… Kelly Clarkson!

Kelly Clarkson won American Idol in 2002.

But she won the hearts, minds and, yes, even souls of music fans everywhere three years later.

At the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards in Miami, the original Idol champion belted out what most people would probably say - even now, even all this time later - is her best track:

Since U Been Gone.

The song is more than just a female empowerment anthem.

It is pop music at its finest: catchy, memorable, with a message to which many can relate and full of notes that only a select few artists can hit.

Clarkson, of course, is one of those artists.

She has a voice nearly unparalleled in this generation and, some could argue, in any generation.

For this Video Music Awards performance, Clarkson brought every ounce of energy at her disposal, rocking out to the single while rain poured down all over her face and body and she mingled with folks in the crowd.

It was, in every sense of the phrase, a true show stopper.

It was the kind of performance that announced to the universe that a new superstar had truly arrived. (One who had almost platinum blonde hair at the time!)

Since this time, of course, Clarkson has merely proved those predictions to be accurate.

She has collected numerous VMAs and Grammy Awards and is as beloved as any solo artist out there.

And the video featured here is, in many respects, where that all began.

With the VMAs airing on Monday, August 20 on MTV at 8/7c, go back in time and relive this incredible footage now!

Kelly Clarkson: Being Skinny Made Me Suicidal

Kelly Clarkson is our hero.

We've said this a number of times over the years, as few celebrities are as comfortable in their own skin as the original American Idol winner.

Kelly Clarkson is Gorgeous

But the admirable artist says in a new interview that it wasn't always this way.

There was a time, in fact, when she hated the skin she was in so much that she went to a very, very, VERY dark place.

"When I was really skinny, I wanted to kill myself," Clarkson says candidly in the latest issue of Attitude Magazine.

She explains:

"I was miserable, like inside and out, for four years of my life. But no one cared, because aesthetically you make sense."

Clarkson says this period of weight loss and depression took place in 2004, right around when her second album was taking off.

She has already won American Idol, her singles were atop the charts and she was on the path to true stardom.

Signed to Clive Davis' RCA Records during this phase of her career, she says she faced immense pressure to shed pounds and looks as “skinny” as her peers.

Kelly Clarkson Artwork

"It was a very dark time for me. I thought the only way out was quitting," she says, adding:

"I like wrecked my knees and my feet because all I would do is put in headphones and run. I was at the gym all the time."

Fast forward a few years to the release of Clarkson’s third album, “My December.”

The singer famously feuded with Davis over the inclusion of certain tracks on this record, eventually firing manager Jeff Kwatinetz as part of the overall disagreement.

"There's a song on My December called 'Sober.' There's this line - 'picked the weeds but kept the flowers' - and I just live my life by that, because you are who you surround yourself with," Clarkson says here.

"I was around some really negative people, and I got out of it because I had a lot of great people there, too."

Last spring, Kelly signed a deal with Atlantic Records. And she sounds pretty happy about it.

"It was a case of turning around, facing them and walking toward the light," she now says.

Kelly Clarkson with Kids

Sadly, Clarkson still hears these days from critics who suck and who give her a hard time about her weight.

But she often fights back. She's now about to let these trolls win.

"I don't obsess about my weight, which is probably one of the reasons why other people have such a problem with it," the star told Redbook at one point, expounding as follows:

"There are just some people who are born skinny and with a great metabolism - that is not me.

"I wish I had a better metabolism. But someone else probably wishes they could walk into a room and make friends with everyone like I can.

"You always want what someone else has."

Clarkson's next album comes out on October 27.

We're totally gonna buy it.

We love her.

Kelly Clarkson Joins The Voice, Sticks It to American Idol

So much for all that Idol chatter.

A few days after rumors surfaced that Kelly Clarkson would be a judge on the revamped version of American Idol, the original winner of has come out and stunned the television universe:

Kelly Clarkson is a Boss

She will, indeed, be a judge on an upcoming season of a beloved, long-time running singing competition.

But it will not be the show that made her famous.

It will be The Voice.

Clarkson made the unexpected announcement on Thursday afternoon alongside Blake Shelton on his Facebook page as part of a live video.

The two artists will joined on season 14 by fellow longtime coach Adam Levine, while a fourth coach will be confirmed at a later date.

"I'm so excited to join The Voice at NBC," Clarkson said in a statement.

She added:

"We've gone back and forth about a role as a coach for years, but the timing hasn't been right until now.

"I have always loved appearing on the show as an adviser or performer and established an amazing relationship with the network during my Christmas special.

"I can't wait to turn my chair and see the faces of up-and-coming artists and provide them with the help and support they've needed to break into the industry."

Kelly Clarkson, Kids

Proving she's ready for the typical weekly trash talk among panelists, Clarkson concluded as follows:

"Watch out Shelton, I'm comin' to win!"

There's also been talk, meanwhile, that Jennifer Hudson will come on board The Voice Season 13 as a judge.

Said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment, in a statement of his own:

"Kelly has been a part of The Voice family for many years as an adviser and performer. We are thrilled she has chosen to join us as a coach to mentor the next generation through our unique vocal boot camp.

"Every time Kelly Clarkson sings you are reminded what an incredible voice really is.

"We are looking forward to the sound of Kelly Clarkson on The Voice."

It was announced on Tuesday that ABC has agreed on a deal to revive American Idol.

It will most likely air on Sunday nights next spring, with Ryan Seacrest most likely returning as host.

"American Idol on ABC...that has a nice ring to it," Disney co-chairman Ben Sherwood said about this move, adding:

"Idol is an entertainment icon, and now it will air where it belongs, in ABC's lineup of addictive fan favorites alongside Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor. America, get ready for the return of a bigger, bolder and better-than-ever Idol.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

Kelly Clarkson Has a Death Wish, Coming Home to ‘American Idol’

Unfortunately, it looks like American Idol is returning to ABC. Way to be original, television. And, in an effort to add some star power, producers want the original Idol to be a judge.

DON’T DO IT KELLY! RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! TMZ reports:

On Kelly’s side, we’re told she’s not only interested, but people on her team are already looking to clear her schedule during the time the show will be filmed.

Oh, well, I guess she’s not going to take my advice. Maybe Kelly thinks this gig will boost her Q rating after her last album flopped, but she’s wrong. Nothing good has come out of American Idol since Carrie Underwood. Simon Cowell berating bad singers in the first few seasons was pretty fun, but the show was all downhill after he left. Not that I watched. I was just forced to listen to weekly updates by my mom.

And now I’ll be forced to listen to them again thanks to ABC. And Kelly Clarkson. There’s still time, Kelly. Get out. “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” Well, this show may kill you. Anyone seen Randy Jackson lately? Didn’t think so.

Kelly Clarkson Jokes About Dealing with Her Daughter’s Terrible Twos: ‘She’s a Terrorist’

Kelly Clarkson is getting used to being a mother of four.

The singer, 34, has been promoting her children’s book, River Rose and the Magical Lullaby, and spoke with Ellen DeGeneres about her somewhat treacherous toddler.

“She’s a terrorist,” Clarkson, who shares 2-year-old River Rose and 5-month-old Remington “Remy” Alexander with husband Brandon Blackstock, jokes in the interview. “She’s so bossy. She can be the most loveable human and then just … mean.”

Want all the latest pregnancy and birth announcements, plus celebrity mom blogs? Click here to get those and more in the PEOPLE Babies newsletter.

DeGeneres, 58, got a glimpse of River’s sassy personality when she chatted with the toddler backstage. “I said, ‘Are you River? I’m Ellen’ and she goes, ‘Sit,’ ” DeGeneres says.

“Like you’re a dog,” Clarkson quips.

Clarkson also mentions her 2-year-old’s not-so-age-appropriate obsession. “She went from Finding Nemo to Jurassic Park,” she says. “I know, judge me. It’s fine.”

Instagram Photo

Clarkson’s daughter took a liking to dinosaurs after seeing them in exhibits at museums, and when Clarkson’s sister was playing the movie, River couldn’t look away.

“I was like, ‘This is too old … So I’ll just play it real quick and she’ll be like, ‘No!’ ” she remembers hoping. “Seen all of ’em. She loves ’em. When people are being attacked, she literally laughs and is like ‘Ahhh!’ I don’t know what that says about her here [pointing to her heart] … or here [pointing to her head].”

After sharing some of her daughter’s latest moments, Clarkson realizes the crowd might be judgmental of her parenting style.

“I’m a good mother,” she says, laughing. “It’s just, she loves [the movies] and she’s not scared. I think we teach them fear. She doesn’t know to be scared. She thinks they’re playing.”

Instagram Photo

As for playing with her new baby brother? Clarkson says River is having a difficult time sharing the attention.

“She doesn’t like that,” she says about the times Clarkson is holding her son. “She is so jealous of that moment, but she loves him. She loves feeding him and she loves — I’m such a mom, I’m so boring.”

On the TODAY show Tuesday morning, Clarkson continued to talk about motherhood, and how much her life has changed.

“I’ve never felt more confident or more like a woman,” she told Savannah Guthrie, “Because the amount of things that I accomplish in a day — I’m gonna say it — it’s astonishing … We do everything, though. I feel like moms, we’re just amazing humans. I literally tell my mom all the time, ‘I’m sorry,’ because I just didn’t respect that enough … It’s a hard job.”

And while she has enjoyed raising her babies — and her husband‘s kids from a previous relationship — Clarkson says she is satisfied with the size of her family.

“Yeah,” she tells DeGeneres, when asked about if she’d have any more, before correcting herself.

“No, not kids. I thought you meant books! Ah! My husband full on just had a heart attack. No. We have four because I married into two. So we have a 15-, 9-, 2[-year-old] and 5-month-old … I already have days where I cry, so we don’t need any more kids. It’s a lot.”

Kelly Clarkson Looks Back on American Idol: It Was Amazing!

Kelly Clarkson has had a wonderful career that has spanned over fourteen years.

Clarkson won the first season of American Idol back in 2002. It's crazy to think that she's still as relevant as today as she was back then.

Her career has continued to flourish, but Idol did not.

Kelly Clarkson Finale Pic

The singing competition finally concluded earlier this year after 15 seasons.

That's a great run for any series.

You'd think singing competitions would be a bit long in the tooth by now, but NBC continues to find success with two cycles of The Voice every year.

Granted, there always seems to be some sort of rift with the judges on the show, but it drums up good ratings.

Clarkson has enjoyed a lot of success throughout her career. She's the first artist from the show to achieve 100 Billboard number 1 hit singles.

Yes, that means the star has topped the chart at least 100 times.

The Original American Idol

That's not an easy task for anyone, so she deserves a lot of recognition for that.

That said, Kelly is not about to forget where she came from. She knows American Idol gave her the career she has today.

Joining singing competitions was the best way to get noticed in 2002. There was no Youtube for artists to go viral back in those days.

Kelly took to Twitter to express her gratitude to the once hot Fox series.

"14 yrs ago 2day @AmericanIdol opened a door w/such amazing opportunities & experiences 4 me!" the 34-year-old singer wrote on Twitter on Sunday, September 4.

"I am 4ever grateful & blessed! #heresto14more."

There's every reason to believe that Clarkson will still be topping the charts in fourteen years.

She really does have staying power and it's not often an artist can continue to top the charts after all this time.

Kelly recently signed a major record deal with Atlantic Records, so at least we know she'll continue to release great music.

She also welcomed a son in April of this year, but she will be back with new music very soon.

It just goes to show that even though the final few seasons of American Idol were terrible, the show still served a huge purpose.

Kelly Clarkson with baby Remington Alexander

It gave the likes of Kelly Clarkson a start in an industry that's very difficult to become a star in.

Clarkson even appeared on the final season of the Fox hit, but apparently Carrie Underwood was not impressed

Underwood was given a smaller segment than Clarkson.

Carrie Underwood at American Idol finale

This peeved Underwood because she knows she is the bigger money maker of the two.

What do you think of all of this?

Kelly Clarkson Shares Sweet Photos of ‘Baby Blue Eyes’ Son Remy and Daughter River: ‘The Big Sis Love Is Real’

Kelly Clarkson‘s kids are giving Twitter an adorable edge.

On Tuesday, the “Breakaway” singer shared photos of 2-year-old daughter River Rose and the newest member of Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock‘s family: son Remington “Remy” Alexander, 3 months.

In the more recent photo, River — who’s sporting a sweet pink headband — is seen cradling her brother and looking down at him, while Remy appears to be talking to his big sister.

“The big sis love is real,” the proud mom, 34, tweeted along with the snap, adding a smiling emoji and the hashtag “river&remy.”

Clarkson also shared a solo shot of Remy shortly before the sibling snap, which shows him staring into the camera with a curious look and smile on his face.

“Baby blue eyes,” she wrote next to the photo of her son.

It seems official that both of Clarkson’s kids are naturals in front of a camera. On Sunday, the songstress tweeted a photo of her fashionista daughter sporting a casual look among a beautiful backdrop.

“Look out @vogue #riverrose is comin’ for ya!” the proud mom wrote to accompany the shot.

Clarkson has opened up in the past about how becoming a mother has changed her, telling PEOPLE in 2015 that her “whole life took a big 180.”

“I never thought I was going to be a mom, so it’s very much changed my world in the most awesome way,” she added at the time.

‘Look Out, Vogue!’ Kelly Clarkson Shares Cute Photo of Daughter River Posing for the Camera

Looks like River Rose Blackstock might have (non-musical) career goals up her sleeve already!

The 2-year-old daughter of Kelly Clarkson and her husband Brandon Blackstock was the star of a photo posted to the songstress’ Twitter account on Sunday, which depicted River wearing a hot-pink cap along with a tank top, shorts and white sandals.

“Look out @vogue #riverrose is comin’ for ya!” Clarkson, 34, tweeted alongside the snap, where her older child is looking away from the lens, posing sweetly amidst a background of flowers.

Considering little River’s potential future modeling career may have to wait until she’s a little older, it’s a good thing she’s keeping busy elsewhere — for example, by helping with her 3-month-old brother Remington “Remy” Alexander and attending social events with American Girl dolls.

“#riverrose rocking NYC tea party style with daddy at American Girl Doll,” Clarkson tweeted Thursday alongside a photo of the smiling tot and Blackstock enjoying some quality father-daughter time.

River, whom her mom has written a children’s book about that is due for release in October, has already proven herself quite the natural at outdoor photo shoots. At just 17 months old, she was “meditating” like a champ in Central Park.

“River can’t be bothered right now. She’s meditating,” Clarkson wrote on Instagram in November, next to the adorable snap of her Disney-loving daughter in the picturesque setting.

Kelly Clarkson Talks About Her ‘Idol’ Breakdown!

Kelly Clarkson sure is one heck of a performer.

The first American Idol winner just paid Ellen DeGeneres a visit, a week after her emotional and amazing stripped-down performance of her latest single, “Piece By Piece,” on the last week’s episode of the talent search.

“I came off almost in tears for a different reason because I was so embarrassed. I was like “Oh God this is my final thing on Idol and I could not hold it together,” the 33-year-old singer gushes.

Kelly Clarkson on The Ellen Show

Referring to the song itself, she says “…the song is incredibly sad … It’s just incredibly… it’s sad, but hopeful.. cause a lot of us we didn’t have a bar to set as far as finding love and relationships. Or friendships in any form.”

We are so glad that Kelly’s in a better place now.

Kelly Clarkson and Daughter River Hang With Cinderella During Disneyland Trip

Bippity boppity boo!

Kelly Clarkson and daughter River Rose spent some time with Cinderella when they visited Disneyland on Tuesday, taking to Twitter to document the magical moment.

“Got 2 hang out w/River today @Disneyland She LOVED it! So much fun! Thanks Disney & Mark, our guide, 4 a great day!,” the expectant mother tweeted, along with a pic.

In the photo, all the ladies smile as Cinderella gives the perfect princess pose and Clarkson, 33, holds River, who’s wearing the most adorable baby Minnie Mouse cap.

The mother-daughter Disney date was certainly a great way to spend some quality time before the singer welcomes baby number two with husband Brandon Blackstock.

In August, the American Idol alum revealed she was pregnant in a surprise announcement at a Los Angeles concert during her Piece by Piece tour.

“I was not planning on announcing this, but…I’m totally pregnant,” she said as she teared up during her performance of the song “Piece by Piece” — an ode to her own father, and a paean to her husband for being a good dad.

Kelly Clarkson Has Written a Children’s Book – and It’s All About Her Daughter

American Idol champ, Grammy winner, Billboard chart-topper, and now children’s author – what can’t Kelly Clarkson do?

The expectant mom announced on Tuesday that she’s penned her own book with the help of daughter River Rose.

“I’m officially a children’s book author,” the 33-year-old wrote on Twitter. “River Rose and the Magical Lullaby comes out this October!”

Kelly Clarkson River Rose children's book

In a sweet clip shared by the star, she explained the backstory of her foray into children’s lit. “It’s kind of a cool thing to be on a plane with my daughter, we were going on trips to the U.K. and Asia and Australia, all these amazing places that she was too little to remember,” Clarkson said with the 19-month-old perched in her lap.

“Basically I started writing down these little fun stories — of like when we went to Australia and she got to hang out with some kangaroos.”

Clarkson said that eventually, the “little stories” morphed into a book for each place they visited.

Kelly Clarkson River Rose children's book

“I guess my hope is for little kids to read River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and be inspired by it, and know they can achieve anything,” she said, “and still dream big and make big things happen.”

After the promo, Clarkson joked around about her baby girl’s adorable personality, telling the camera “Ya’ll, she is out of hand.”

“I can’t even get her to work, I’m pulling this train all by myself,” she continued. “She’s like sleeping on the job, she’s eating all the time — she’s always hungry.”

Clarkson, who is pregnant with her and husband Brandon Blackstock‘s second child, teased the collaboration with illustrator Laura Hughes on Twitter in the days leading up to the big reveal.

“What’s magical, fun and an escape for everyone?” the first video baited on Friday.

In a third Twitter clip, River smiled while playing with makeup on a vanity. “We couldn’t afford a @SuperBowl commercial, but here’s #Clue3,” Clarkson wrote of her little “diva,” before sharing a photo of herself and the cutie.

The picture book will feature an original lullaby written and performed by Clarkson, according to her website.

In the story, River Rose is so excited for her first trip to the zoo that she can’t fall asleep. Luckily, her mother’s lullaby sends her on a dreamy adventure through the menagerie.

River Rose and the Magical Lullaby, published by HarperCollins, will be available on Oct. 4, 2016, but can be pre-ordered online now.

Sorry Santa! Kelly Clarkson Shares Classic Christmas Photo of Daughter River Rose

Kelly Clarkson‘s daughter River Rose might be on the naughty list after this not-so-merry moment.

The expectant mom took to Instagram on Thursday to share a classic Christmas shot of her 18-month-old on Santa’s lap — and River was not too happy about it.

In the photo, Santa looks as jolly as his job calls for, while the soon-to-be big sister cries.

“So this happened….#RiverLovesSanta …is it wrong I slightly enjoyed this ha!” Clarkson, 33, captioned the photo.

While the photo might not be ideal, it’ll be another great one to add to their epic Christmas card collection.

Earlier this month, Clarkson shared the family’s Game of Thrones themed Christmas card on Instagram, sending fans into a flurry as they guessed that her use of the show’s tagline “winter is coming” might be a hint at her future baby’s name.

“Merry Christmas from the Blackstock clan! #gameofthrones #winteriscoming #riverisnotworried,” the singer captioned the picture.

Kelly Clarkson and Family Pose For Game Of Thrones Themed Christmas Card

Watch out Kardashians, Kelly Clarkson and her family is coming for your epic Christmas card tradition.

On Monday, the expectant mom, shared a snap of the family’s Game of Thrones themed holiday card, in which the family is decked out in period-appropriate attire, similar to characters in the show.

In the photo, the family does their best serious faces, as dad Brandon Blackstock holds the couple’s 14-month-old daughter River Rose and Clarkson rests her hand on Blackstock’s son from another marriage Seth. His oldest daughter, Savannah is also pictured.

“Merry Christmas from the Blackstock clan! #gameofthrones #winteriscoming #riverisnotworried,” Clarkson, 33, captioned the photo on Instagram.

Featured on the Christmas card is the series tagline, “winter is coming,” written just above the family’s last name, Blackstock, which has some wondering if Clarkson might be hinting her future baby’s name.

“I was not planning on announcing this, but … I’m totally pregnant,” she revealed to the crowd at a Los Angeles stop during her “Piece by Piece” tour.

Kelly Clarkson Shares Adorable Snap of River Rose ‘Meditating’

Baby’s first meditation?

Kelly Clarkson recently shared an Instagram snap of her daughter, River Rose, having what appears to be a spiritual moment in New York City’s Central Park.

“I’m so thankful for my amazing family & friends!! Especially this little nugget :) River can’t be bothered right now. She’s meditating. #sheistotallythinkingaboutfood HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!! :)” the singer captioned the photo of the 17-month-old looking upward with her mouth open.

Whether little River was actually meditating or “thinking about food,” one thing’s for sure: She’ll have a little more responsibility on her plate soon, as she’s set to be a big sister.

Clarkson, 33, announced in August that she and husband Brandon Blackstock are expecting a son.

In other news, River's gonna have a little baby brother :) #itsaboy We're so excited!

Earlier this year, the singer opened up to PEOPLE about why she was nervous about having a second child.

The reason: little River is “so perfect,” Clarkson said.

“I feel like something horrible’s gonna come out of me. Because she’s so great– like, the yin to her yang,” she said.

“But I won’t put that out there,” she added. “I’m gonna project happiness.”

Clarkson, 33, first shared that she and husband Brandon Blackstock, 38, were expecting in August, surprising the audience at an L.A. Piece By Piece tour stop with an impromptu, emotional announcement.

“I was not planning on announcing this, but … I’m totally pregnant,” she said, crying onstage at the time.

“My makeup artist is backstage hating me right now. I just don’t want you to think I’m on pills or drunk …I’d like to apologize to my husband. That was not planned.
