Were it not for the seminal (tee-hee, see what we did there?) cinematic masterpiece known as the Kim Kardashian sex tape, there would be no Kardashian media empire to speak of.
Thirteen years after the film's release, however, the infamous Ray J-produced romp has essentially spawned America's most famous family of fame-obsessed egomaniacs.
Yes, proving again that the Kard clan has far more staying power than its harshest critics feared, it's hard to keep up with their wealth.
In addition to the OGs, the younger sisters of Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe are raking in bank, and showing zero signs of slowing down.
And even with Keeping Up With the Kardashians coming to an end this year, the Kard clan empire shows no signs of slowing down.
How much cash are we talking about here?
Here's the net worth for each family member, which may surprise you, at least as far as who's on top of the Kardashian money pile.
But we begin with this underachiever ...
1. Rob Kardashian: Estimated Net Worth, $10 Million
2. Scott Disick: Estimated Net Worth, $40 Million
3. Kendall Jenner: Estimated Net Worth, $45 Million (and Rising)
4. A Financial Plan of Attack
5. Branching Out
6. Kourtney Kardashian: Estimated Net Worth, $50 Million
Kim Kardashian may soon be single.
But we can now officially be clear:
She will not be hurting for money.
Not even remotely.
On the verge of a divorce from Kanye West, the Instagram influencer may not have access to the rapper's bank account any longer -- but Forbes Magazine made it known this week.
She most definitely will be just fine on her own.
According to this famous publication, Kardashian is now with a billion dollars.
This is a massive increase from the $780 million she was worth when Forbes last checked in just a few months ago, in October 2020.
What accounts for this boost in wealth? For this nearly incomprehensible figure?
Kim's cosmetics line, KKW Beauty, along with her SKIMS apparel brand.
It certainly sounds as if Americans who have been stuck inside their homes amid the coronavirus pandemic have been surfing the Internet and ordering items from Kim's various lines to use and/or wear in their houses.
By Forbes' account, KKW Beauty was bringing in approximately $100 million annually since its launch in 2017 -- and when Kardashian sold 20% of her ownership stake in the company to beauty conglomerate Coty... she instantly made $200 million.
Forbes says the remaining 72% stake she still has in the company is worth around $500 million on its own.
Holy. Stacks. Of. Benjamins.
Then there's SKIMS.
While this brand has not disclosed its financials, per Forbes, the magazine still estimates her ownership stake at around $225 million.
This does not add up to $1 billion, we know.
But the rest of her cash sits in cash and other investments -- including real estate.
Since 2012, Forbes reports that Kardashian has been collecting at least $10 million a year (pre-tax) from her family's reality show, endorsement deals and other business ventures she's merely dipped her toes into over time.
All this, and her Ray J sex tape still brings in some bucks, too!
Two years ago, Kylie Jenner was also named a billionaire by Forbes.
There was quite a bit of controversy at the time because the outlet also dubbed Kylie the youngest "self-made" billionaire on the planet, which prompted the raising of many eyebrows across the globe.
We mean... is Kylie Jenner truly self-made?
Or did she ride the often-naked coattails of her older half-sister and/or her family name in general?
Kylie later clapped back against the hate and insisted she was self-made and was a billionaire and all critics can basically suck it.
"I’ve never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there EVER. Period," Kylie wrote after questions arose about her tax returns and whetherr she, technically, was part of the billionaire's club.
Kim, for her part, has made no such statement.
Nor has she faced any sort of criticism about her finances.
For all those wondering why she's been married and divorced three times, however, you can at least rest assured:
She isn't digging for any gold.
She hasn't been using these men for their money.
Say what you want about Kim Kardashian, but she knows how to make plenty on her own.
Someone close to Kim Kardashian has finally spoken out about the reality star's divorce from Kanye West.
Someone VERY close to Kim Kardashian.
Someone so close to Kim Kardashian that she's responsible for bringing the mother of four into the world.
Yes, we're talking about Kris Jenner.
While appearing on The Kyle & Jackie O Show on Thursday, March 18, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians matriach passed along her wishes to the couple as they go their separate ways.
As you might expect, Jenner focused on the children Kim and Kanye share and how this makes the break-up all the more emotional and challenging.
But it also gives the celebrities something to focus on as parents, even if they are no longer husband and wife.
"I think it's always going to be hard anytime...you know, there's a lot of kids," Kris said on air.
"The good thing about our family is that we are there for each other and supportive and we love each other very, very much so all I want is for those two kids to be happy.
"And I want the kids to be happy.
"That's the goal."
Added Jenner, remaining diplomatic and controversy-free in her response:
"I think we all want that for our families, just to be able to have the love and appreciation of one another, and that everyone's okay.
"That's what you want as a mom."
Not exactly earth-shattering, but Kris does represent the first member of the Jenner-Kardashian family to comment on this divorrce.
According to a previous report, Jenner made an effort to step in and try to help Kim and Kanye reconcile.
Because she feared that Kim ending her marriage might affect her brand, which would hurt Jenner's bank account as well.
"Kris and Kanye are truly butting heads," an insider has claimed to The Sun.
"They have had a very tumultuous relationship in the past and in the last year spoke very little, but now they are not only talking but they are fighting again."
Alas, it appears as if things truly are over between Kim and Kanye.
The former realized back during the latter's 2020 Presidential campaign that there was truly no reaching West; that he was a certified narcissist who would never put his family first.
And who was seemingly falling further and further into the deep end -- just as Kim was trying to change her life and dedicate it to causes that truly help the public good, such as prison reform.
The stars have simply grown far apart and want very different things at this point.
Back on February 19, Kardashian officially put an end to her romance by filing for divorce in Los Angeles.
The E! star cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.
She also requested joint legal and physical custody of the four children they share.
With the final season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians kicking off on March 18, Jenner was asked on Thursday the divorce will play out on the small screen.
"I don't know what they have decided on in the finale, we haven't even seen the first show yet," she alleged.
"I'm sure they're putting some final touches. But I think it's just a private time for them. Kim wanted to deal with this with her own family in her own time...
"When she feels like it, I'm sure she'll say what she needs to say."
Amid claims that Kim is hooking up with Drake (!!!!!!!!!!!!), neither Kardashian nor West have said anything themselves in public since their divorce filing went public.
"Kim thinks it's important that the kids have a relationship with their dad and that he is a big part of their lives," a source has explained to E! News.
"For now, the kids have primarily been with Kim and living at the house. Any time Kanye wants to see them, he can. She is not stopping him."
"Kim is not sure what the future will be like, but she has made it clear to Kanye that he is welcome to spend time with them whenever he wants."
We heard earlier this week that Kanye West wanted Kim Kardashian back, or, more specifically, that he expected her to come running back to him when she “realized what she was missing.” We know that’s not likely to be the case because, well, who would miss Kanye?
Apparently, if Kanye does want Kim back, he’s playing hard to get. In fact, he’s not even speaking to, according to Page Six.
The source said, “Even before Kim filed for divorce, Kanye changed his numbers and said, ‘You can contact me through my security.’ Despite this, she trusts him around the kids. He loves them and is seeing a lot of them. She leaves the house and he arrives and hangs out with the kids. They have an army of nannies so the transition is easy.”
It kind of sounds like Kanye is being a giant baby. I know, it’s shocking, right?
I don’t think that Kim is about to come crawling back to Kanye. I don’t know if he’s not speaking to her as a ploy, they say absence makes the heart grow fonder after all, or if he’s just hurt and not dealing with his pain in a healthy way. Considering he’s still wearing his wedding ring, I’m guessing the first choice is at least partially true.
The post Kanye West is Reportedly Not Speaking to Kim Kardashian appeared first on The Blemish.
I know I say this a lot, but Kanye West is so egotistical that it makes him delusional. He literally described himself as “one of the most powerful humans.” He might be the most conceited human, but his power level is definitely not over 9000 otherwise.
Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian recently filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, which we all took as code for “being Kanye West.” But according to Hollywood Life, Kanye has a plan to win his soon-to-be ex-wife over.
“Kanye honestly feels that he can get Kim back,” the source EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife. “There is so much strain thanks to so many obstacles with quarantine and both of them wanting to live in different parts of the country, to the kids and to his overall health. He is realistic and knows that co-parenting is the way forward since Kim has had enough, but he feels it can be used as a breather to where distance will make the heart grow fonder and she will realize what she is missing.”
Given the choice of being around Kanye West and being away from Kanye West, I don’t think that being around him would be the winner.
But I do have a plan for how Kanye can win back his wife. All he has to do is call Mr. Peabody and ask him to bring over the Wayback Machine and take him back to when he first thought Candice Owens had some good ideas and punch himself in the dick.
Failing that, Kanye should get used to being one of the world’s most powerful bachelors.

Kim Kardashian wants Britney Spears to know that she isn't alone.
Far from it, in fact.
In the wake of a documentary that has shed light on the way Britney was exploited, manipulated and generally mistreated during the height of her fame, Kardashian has shared a lengthy statement on Instagram.
"I finally watched the Britney Spears documentary this week and it made me feel a lot of empathy for her," the mother of four opened her series of social media posts late last week.
For those unaware, the film referenced here is available on Hulu and titled Framing Britney Spears.
It delves into the singer's mental health crisis and breakdown in 2008, which has led to her dad, Jamie Spears, being given control over all of Britney's financial decisions.
Despite the artist's best legal efforts, Britney has been unable to oust her father as the conservator of her estate.
"The way the media played a big role in her life the way it did can be very traumatizing and it can really break even the strongest person," continued Kardashian on Friday.
"No matter how public someone's life may seem, no one deserves to be treated with such cruelty or judgement for entertainment."
Alongside a collection of magazine covers (below) that targeted Kardashian and her figure, Kim added:
"Looking back at my own experiences, I remember a time when I felt this way."
"When I was pregnant with North I was suffering from preeclampsia, which made me swell uncontrollably," explained the 40-year old reality star.
"I gained 60lbs and delivered almost 6 weeks early and I cried every single day over what was happening to my body.
"Mainly from the pressures of being constantly compared to what society considered a healthy pregnant person should look like - as well as being compared to Shamu the Whale by the media.
"I was shamed on a weekly basis with cover stories that made my insecurities so painful I couldn't leave the house for months after. It really broke me."
All of this scrutiny took "a toll on her mentally," Kim admitted, prior to asking everyone out there to be "compassionate" towards Spears.
Concluded Kardashian on this important topic:
"You just never fully know what someone is going through behind the scenes and I've learned through my own experiences that it's always better to lead with kindness."
Britney has not said a whole lot about her ongoing plight, or the documentary that has once again ignited the #FreeBritney movement.
But she did share a recent photo with her teenage sons and close friend Billy Brasfield has assured The Sun that Spears is doing just fine.
"She is 100 percent optimistic and extremely capable and smart - and has a strategy and people need to respect that," Brasfield has told this publication.
“There are a lot of people thinking they know what’s best for Britney but she is a grown woman who is very capable."
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are trying to have a drama-free divorce, but considering it involves Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, that doesn’t seem likely.
For example, the former couple are going to “co-parent” their children. Now, this is a great idea in theory; even though you’re not romantic partners, you’re parenting partners and you work things out together.
You may have noticed the problem here. If not, basically the reason that Kim and Kanye are getting divorced is that Kanye is unwilling to compromise on the things he needs to compromise on to make a marriage work. You know, like not running a doomed presidential campaign at the last minute with no planning or political experience whatsoever.
People reports that Kanye and Kim are already having trouble deciding how to raise their kids.
“They have a different vision of the world and how their kids should be raised,” the source says for this week’s issue. “Kim will always support Kanye and his causes and encourage him with their kids, but her future with work, family and life in general are strictly up to her. She makes it happen.”
“Kim will continue with her projects and so will Kanye,” the source adds. “What they want in life and for their kids doesn’t always match.”
Now, the source doesn’t say what the cause of the disagreement is, but I would put money on religion being the issue here. As you know, Kanye has been a Christian for like, 20 minutes and it’s basically all he ever talks about. They do say converts to religions are the most likely to become radicalized.
Kim seems like she’d like to be a part of polite society while Kanye honestly thought he was going to be in Donald Trump’s cabinet. I’m sure that’s going to lead to some conflict.

There are a lot of theories as to why Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are getting divorced, but they all basically boil down to “It’s Kanye West, the shock is he managed to stay married this long.”
That’s pretty much going to be the correct answer. No one thinks this divorce is because of things Kim Kardashian did or said or difficulties she caused, even though this is her third divorce. Marrying Kanye West was the best thing Kim could have done for her image; she was not exactly well-regarded by the public in the past but pretty much everyone has taken her side in the Kanye West divorce.
Instyle reports the basic reason their marriage broke down was Kanye is stubborn.
“There is no drama between Kim and Kanye,” the source said. “Kim is mostly just disappointed that they couldn’t figure out how to stay married.”
“But it takes two people to create a happy marriage,” the source added. “Kim has felt Kanye is not willing to do the hard work and compromise.”
Boy, does that sound like Kanye or what?
You have to compromise to make a relationship work and Kanye West is not the compromising type. Remember we heard stories that when Kanye became religious he started telling Kim to be less sexy and whatnot?
Kanye makes big decisions and expects everyone around to make whatever he wants to happen. That’s probably great if you’re a musician; Van Halen famously wanted all the brown M&Ms removed from a bowl of M&Ms backstage at every venue they played at as a way to check and see if the venue was following the little details in their rider or if they’d have to recheck all the electrical and pyro so they didn’t get hurt. Eddie Van Halen never told Valerie Bertinelli to take the brown M&Ms out of a bowl of M&Ms for him, though, and Kanye seems like the type of person who would.

Well, it finally happened.
After months of social media rumors and reports from inside sources, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from Kanye West.
Even though the move was not unexpected, it raised a number of questions among fans of the couple.
The number one mystery of the moment seems to be why, after enduring so many years of Kanye's monstrous egotism and wildly erratic behavior, would Kim finally pull the plug on her third marriage?
For nearly seven years, she's demonstrated saint-like patience in her dealings with her famously volatile husband.
Over the past few months, however, that patience seemed to wane.
So what was the nail in the coffin for Kim and Kanye's marriage?
What prompted Kim to finally part ways with the father of her four children?
Well, to understand those questions, we need to examine Kanye's behavior in the last half of 2020.
It was already a strange year for the couple, as Kanye's presidential run attracted all the wrong types of media attention.
Whether it was a serious foray into the politcal arena or an ill-conceived publicity stunt, the campaign was undeniably a failure.
And that failure seems to have taken an emotional toll on the famously fragile West.
In July, long before he formally suspended his run for the White House, Kanye began to show signs of emotional strain.
It's unclear whether this was a consequence of the year's tense political climate or a symptom of the bipolar disorder with which West has struggled for several years.
Whatever the case, it seems to have increased the strain on his marriage.
In July, Kanye unleashed one of his signature Twitter tirades.
But this time, the target wasn't the music industry of the news media, but his wife and her family.
In a series of tweets that left even his harshest critics stunned, Kanye accused Kim of cheating on him with rapper Meek Mill.
He then turned his attention toward his in-laws, slut-shaming Kylie Jenner for posing in Playboy and referring to Kris Jenner as a white supremacist.
Many thought that would be the end, as it was difficult to imagine Kim giving her husband a second chance after such a vicious attack.
But amazingly, Kim continued to work on the marriage.
Just days after the tirade was posted, she flew to Wyoming, where Kanye was living in seclusion on his ranch.
She was photographed having a tearful conversation with her husband while both of them were seated in his car.
The next day, she returned to Los Angeles, alone, and still crying.
It's unclear if it was then that Kim decided to call it quits, but less than three months later, reliable outlets such as Page Six and TMZ began to report that the mother of four had made up her mind.
No doubt further details will emerge in the weeks to come, but those hoping for a messy divorce are likely to be disappointed.
Despite the fact that Kim and Kanye have billions in assets to divide between them, insiders say they've pledged to keep the split as civil as possible for the sake of their children.
For the same reason, we hope they're able to stick to that pledge -- but when Kanye's involved, you never know what might happen.
We'll have further updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.
Kim Kardashian Files for Divorce from Kanye West https://t.co/NIpiOdbpO5
— TMZ (@TMZ) February 19, 2021
Kim Kardashian has gone ahead and finally done it.
Following several weeks of intense speculation about the state of her marriage, Kim Kardashian has turned what started out as a seemingly common rumor into a rather stunning reality:
She has filed for divorce from Kanye West.
TMZ, E! News and other outlets have all confirmed this development.
Each report characterizes the situation as being considered amicable between both parties.
At least ... for the moment.
Kim is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the former couple's four children.
Significantly, West is reportedly in agreement with this crucial clause.
There is also a prenuptiial agreement in place, which neither side is planning to contest.
Kardashian and Kanye are even far along in their property settlement negotiation, an insider alleges.
This source is citing the many homes these superstars own together.
That sort of joint ownership can take a long time to work through, even for the most amicable of exes.
The official documents were filed by by well-known divorce attorney Laura Wasser.
No official date of separation is listed.
However, long-time celebrity gossip followers know that this announcement has been a long time in the making.
There appeared to be a fissure in the romance shortly after Kanye confirmed a run for President in the spring of 2020, following up this decision by hitting the campaign trail.
To disastrous results.
Many families experience tension due to the pressures of politics, but much of Kanye's grief was of his own making. He had plenty for Kim, too.
At one point, Kanye admitted that Kim had wanted to abort their first daughter, North.
Crying on stage, he claimed that Kim had been poised to do just that.
At another point, he taunted Kim and confessed for the first time that she had previously wanted to break-up with him.
At yet another point, he referred to Kris Jenner as "Kris Jong-Un."
The ranting and raving grew to such a worrisome point that Kardashian released a statement in July.
In that statement, Kim issued a sincere plea that folks have "compassion" when it came to her husband's mental illness.
A few months later, the divorce chatter really started to grow strong.
Astute observers realized this was a legitimate possibility after E! -- the network basically run by Kim and her mother -- reported on a likely divorce.
Kardashian allowed the report to run... and then never denied its contents.
"It's gotten to the point where they haven't spent time together as a married couple in months," a source told E! News.
"They've seen each other for the sake of the kids," the insider noted.
The source continued: "But have been living separately. Kim knows the marriage is over. She's known for a while."
Kimye went public with their romance in April 2012.
The eye-catching power couple got married in May 2014.
They hare four kids together, North West, 7, Saint West, 5, Chicago West, 3, and Psalm West, 20 months.
For the past few months, West has been holed up in Wyoming.
Meanwhile, Kim has been staying with the children in California.
Neither has talked to the press about the failing relationship.
Kim, according to E!, held off on officially submitting her divorce documents out of concern for their little ones.
Many parents share this worry, that a breakup will harm their children more than an unhappy marriage, and must make their own hard choices.
But this particular divorce has been inevitable for quite a long time now.
"She wants to make sure she's making the right decision for the kids," the insider explained to E! News, adding:
"It's not about the marriage anymore," the report detailed. "She'll always care for Kanye but it's over between them."
The source emphasized: "Kim is only focused on what's best for the kids. It's a tough decision for her and she's figuring it out."
As of this writing, still no comment from Kanye or Kim or anyone from the latter's famous family.
We expect that to change soon, however.
We will of course update this post accordingly when we hear from a Kardashian.
Until then, for the sake of four very young human beings, we hope things between their parents remain as positive and as friendly as possible.
An amicable divorce will be better for everyone involved, even if it's less entertaining for a few folks to read about.
We also hope Kim gives Ray J another chance. The guy deserves it.
I had heard not too long ago that Kim Kardashian was waiting until the series finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians aired to file for divorce from Kanye West, but that West was ready to move on and was considering filing himself of Kim didn’t.
But now it sounds like Kanye is having second thoughts about the divorce that Kim is still very much going to file for.
People reports that Kanye is “not doing well” now that the reality of the situation has actually sunk in.
“He is anxious and very sad. He knows that the marriage is over, and there’s nothing that can be done right now. He also knows what he is losing in Kim.”
“They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family,” one insider told PEOPLE at the time. “And Kim is okay with it.”
“There is very little hope of reconciliation,” says the source. “It would have to be a miracle. But Kanye does believe in miracles.”
Kanye also believed he was going to be Secretary of Housing and Urban Development or something for Trump’s second term.
I don’t think Kanye is a bad guy, I just think he’s very stupid and narcissistic. I think Kim has finally realized that, too, which puts her about a decade behind South Park.
Kanye doesn’t think about what he’s doing and the consequences it may have. He just does whatever comes to mind and because he’s rich, sometimes it does kind of happen. The man basically woke up one day halfway through the election cycle and said “I should be President of the United States” and something resembling a presidential campaign appeared around him.
The stupid narcissist thing comes in when you realize that Kanye honestly thought he would win even though he was running against Donald Trump, an incumbent president in a country where incumbents rarely lose elections, as well as potential Democratic nominees Joe Biden, who had the entire machinery of a major political party behind him and Bernie Sanders, who built one of the largest grass-roots political movements in American history.
Everyone knew Kanye was a joke candidate except for Kanye. And ultimately, that cost him his marriage. It’s hard to look at Kanye and respect him after that.
The post Kanye West is Finally Realizing What Being Divorced From Kim Kardashian Really Means appeared first on The Blemish.
Just a couple of days ago, Kim Kardashian posted a picture of herself just lounging around in a bikini and a pair of Yeezy sneakers. Pretty much everyone assumed this was meant to show that she and Kanye were still friendly because why else would someone willing put on the ugliest shoes I have ever seen in my life.
Also, is anyone else getting a real Lannister vibe from Khloe replying “I wish I was the balcony” to that picture? Seriously, what the f**k, who says that about their sister?
Kanye may not have been too happy about Kim wearing his shoes, though, because right after that he moved 500 pairs of shoes out of the house they shared, reports Page Six.
Kardashian has been on a girls trip to Turks and Caicos with her family, allegedly giving West space to remove some items. “They both felt it would be less dramatic without both of them in the house,” claimed the source.
The insider alleged that West didn’t take all of his belongings — but some items, including the impressive sneaker collection. The rapper was seen touching down in Los Angeles at Van Nuys Airport via private jet last week.
This divorce is really taking a long time for something everyone knows is going to happen.
Also, why does Kanye have 500 pairs of shoes? You know they’re all Yeezys, if the man sits around listening to his own music you know that he’s not wearing shoes designed by anyone else. Does he need that many pairs? Do people actually buy his shoes? Are they just remaindered pairs that didn’t sell?

When you marry a celebrity, there's an understanding that you'll be sacrificing some of your privacy for the sake of their career.
When you marry one of the world's most famous reality stars, the agreement is a little different:
You basically have to be okay with having zero privacy, as your entire life is soon to be broadcast to millions of eager viewers.
When Kanye West first met Kim Kardashian, he was probably okay with that arrangement.
Then, as now, Kanye was one of the most famous musicians on the planet.
But an important difference is that his life was more stable in those days.
Back in 2011, when the couple first started dating, Kanye was not yet a billionaire; his bipolar disorder was well under control, and he and Kim were madly in love.
Cut to 2021, and all of that has changed.
The rapper is more successful than ever from a business/monetary standpoint, but his personal life is in a state of disarray.
After months of rumors, it looks as though Kim and Kanye are actually getting divorced.
Insiders say Kim had met with her lawyers, and while she has yet to actually file papers, it seems it's only a matter of time.
And it appears that despite Kanye's objections, the drama surrounding the divorce will be featured on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
According to recent reports Kanye is "less than thrilled" about this development, but it sounds like there's not much he can do about it.
There are very few public specifics about West's contract with E! and with the Kris Jenner-owned company that produces the show.
But the consensus seems to be that he signed it when he and Kim were in heart-eyes emoji stage of their relationship.
As a result, Kanye -- who's usually a savvy businessman -- apparently just signed whatever was put in front of him under the belief that he would never have any reason to contest it.
That naivete has come back to bite him, as the rapper and sneaker mogul has no legal grounds on which to fight the Kard clan's plan to use Kim's divorce as a major storyline in the final season of KUWTK.
Naturally, Kanye himself won't be appearing on the show, but apparently, that won't prevent Kim from discussing the split extensively.
Filming for the season has already wrapped, and some fans are taking that as a sign that the divorce is further along than we realized.
Whatever the case, Kanye was still holed up at his compound in Wyoming while Kim and her sisters shot the final season in a Calabasas Covid bubble.
So it looks like the final season of KUWTK will be entirely Kanye-less.
Meanwhile, the drama of the Wests' split will probably continue to play out for months.
Kim and Kanye have billions in assets to split, and the forthcoming legal battle is sure to get messy.
Maybe E! should consider doing a spin-off called Kim and Kanye Go To Kourt!
When we went to war with Iraq and Afghanistan, we didn’t have an exit plan. The result is that we’ve still got troops in Afghanistan in 2021 and no plan to bring them home, even though some of the troops there now hadn’t even been born when the war began.
That sort of ongoing quagmire with no hope of escape is exactly the sort of thing you want to avoid with Kanye West.
Luckily for Kim Kardashian, she’s smarter than George Bush and as such she has an exit plan for her marriage. And “exit plan” is the exact terminology Us Weekly’s source used when they reported it.
As speculation about their relationship status continues to spread, Kardashian has sought the guidance of “her financial advisors to figure out an exit plan that would be best for her whole family,” the source says.
I can’t really think of a bad way to leave Kanye West. Have you ever heard Aziz Ansari’s story about meeting Kanye West? He walked into Kanye’s house and Kanye was listening to a Kanye West album. No one wants to be married to the “listens to his own album” dude.
“Kim has had all of her and Kanye’s financials and properties ready to be split, it’s a very fair deal for everyone,” the source adds. “Kim has all of her assets and financials ready for when she decides to file officially. Friends thought she was going to file in September, but she’s holding out. That does not mean that everything behind the scenes is already done.”
The post Kim Kardashian Has a Kanye West Exit Plan Ready to Go appeared first on The Blemish.
In a bit of news that should come as a shock to no one, Page Six is reporting Kim Kardashian has had enough and is divorcing Kanye West because of his Kanye-West-like behavior.
“Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done,” the source continued.
Turns out that just like everyone in the world knew, “living separate lives” is code for “getting divorced.”
You can probably guess the reason Kim is seeking a divorce.
She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy s–t, and she’s just had enough of it.
Can I divorce Kanye West, too? We’ve all had enough of his antics, right?
Apparently, the big sticking point for the couple is ownership of their Calabasas mansion, which is owned by Kanye but where Kim is raising their kids. Children need a stable environment and they need that environment to not be in Wyoming.
It’s not like Kanye is super keen on saving the marriage either, though.
Meanwhile, a separate source says Kanye, who became increasingly uncomfortable and irritated by the Kardashians’ over-the-top reality star lives, “Is completely over the entire family … He wants nothing to do with them,” adding he eventually found their reality show “unbearable.”
I get how that would be an issue, it’s not like Kim had been doing a reality show for seven years when she and Kanye got married or anything.
Kanye West married someone who was famous for having a sex tape and being friends with Paris Hilton and then he found Jesus and expected her to go along with all his Jesusey nonsense and dress like a nun or whatever and Kim clearly wasn’t having it. Kanye feels like he’s the victim because that is how Kanye West feels when someone doesn’t do what Kanye West wants them to do.
I think everyone saw this coming when West started leading prayer services, and if not then definitely when he started complaining that Kim dressed too sexy.
Seriously, who among us could make a relationship with Kanye West work?
We know you've heard this before.
Many times in recent months, in fact.
But we can assure you of the following:
You've never heard it from such a reliable source.
Following an endless array of rumors about the marriage between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West coming to an end... none other than E! News is now confirming these reports.
Yes, the same company/network/outlet that airs Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
And the same company/network/outlet that would never -- EVER! -- run such a scoop unless it was both accurate -- and also vetted by Kris Jenner and members of her family.
Stated the official E! website late on Tuesday:
After six years of marriage and more than eight years together, the E! reality TV star and rapper are going their separate ways.
"It's gotten to the point where they haven't spent time together as a married couple in months," a source tells E! News.
"They've seen each other for the sake of the kids but have been living separately. Kim knows the marriage is over. She's known for a while."
For the official record, however, Kim is yet to file for divorce.
Kim and Kanye went public with their relationship in April 2012 and share four children together: North West, 7, Saint West, 5, Chicago West, 2, and Psalm West, 20 months.
It is because of these young boys and girls that Kardashian is patiently weighing her legal options.
"She wants to make sure she's making the right decision for the kids," the E! source adds.
Tension has very clearly existed between Kardashian and West since this past summer.
As part of his campaign for the Presidency, Kanye exposed such personal tidbits as the fact that he wanted to abort North West when he first learned his now-wife was pregnant.
It got to the point where Kardashian even issued her first-ever statement about her husband's mental health.
In July, she asked folks for "compassion" in the wake of Kanye's ongoing mental breakdown, referencing West's bipolar order and stating:
"Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words sometimes do not align with his intentions."
Since back then, however, Kardashian has kept her space from West.
She's been living in Los Angeles with her sons and daughters, while the rapper has mostly been in Wyoming at his ranch.
Continues E! in its shocking confirmation:
"It's not about the marriage anymore, she'll always care for Kanye but it's over between them. Kim is only focused on what's best for the kids. It's a tough decision for her and she's figuring it out."
Other often-reliable sources are also now reporting that this union is over.
“They are keeping it low-key but they are done,” claims a new Page Six article. “Kim has hired [divorce lawyer] Laura Wasser and they are in settlement talks.”
Kardashian has not been wearing her wedding ring for quite awhile, this newspaper continues.
“Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done,” iits source adds.
West himself Tweeted the following in July:
“I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf [sic] for ‘prison reform."
He was seemingly referring here to a criminal justice summit attended by Kim and rapper Meek Mill in November 2018.
And Page Six alleges that Kim's committment to prison reform, her decision to use her platform for societal good at last, is a major reason behind this split.
Reports the outlet:
“She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign.
"Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy s–t, and she’s just had enough of it.”
Remember Kim’s ridiculously extravagant $1 million-plus 40th birthday in Tahiti last October? When she rented out a private island for her loved ones?
Kanye showed up for just one day.
Writes The New York Post:
“He showed up late and left early, he wouldn’t appear in any of their Instagram shots. All he did was bring over the hologram of her father Robert Kardashian, then got out of there as fast as he could."
Finallly, People Magazine says Kim is "preparing to divorce" the artist.
"He knows that she’s done," reports this well-respected publication, concluding:
"She has had enough, and she told him that she wants some space to figure out her future.
"He’s okay. He’s sad, but okay. He knows the inevitable will happen, and he knows that it’s coming soon."
Right on the heels of Khloe Kardashian's tone deaf display of riches, Kim is coming under fire.
She's offering to give away money to 1,000 lucky fans ... but once people began digging past the surface, they found a lot of reasons to feel angry.
"Hey guys! 2020 has been hard and many are worried about paying rent or putting food on their table," Kim tweeted on Monday, December 21.
"I want to spread the love by sending $500 to 1000 people," she announced.
Kim then invited her fans and followers to "Send me your $cashtag below with #KKWHoliday." She also tagged her tweet with "#partner."
Offering to give away $500,000 so conveniently and with few caveats is great ... but to say that Kim received some pushback is an understatement.
One critic wrote: "Celebrities be like: 'we know you guys are starving and the government won’t help you, so beg for money online and I might sprinkle you peasants some.'"
"Celebrities making us beg for cashapp money on here I feel like s--t," another expressed.
"Does this ease your conscience about about your covid vacation?" one response asked. "Or do you feel powerful making people beg you for money?"
"These celebrities giving money set through Cashapp are not giving their own money. Cashapp/Chime is sponsoring," another explained.
That same tweet continued: "It's awesome people are getting help but I keep seeing people framing the celebrities as awesome people for giving 'their' money away."
Kim Kardashian, who has a reported net worth of $780 million and who made an estimated $50 million in 2020 alone, is a very wealthy woman.
But she didn't tag her tweet as "#partner" because she feels a sense of partnership with her impoverished followers and fans.
It's a huge promotional giveaway, and one can only assume that Cashapp is footing the bill.
The plan is simple: you tell people drop their Cashapp links in the replies and they'll have a chance to win money.
A lot of people are desperate after months of massive governmental failures, and everyone likes money, so of course people are going to plug their links.
It's a safe bet that thousands of people will create new Cashapp accounts for a chance to win.
And even if they don't get the payout, once you have a Cashapp, you're more likely to use it, even if it's just to link to it for others to send you money in your time of need.
It's a smart ad, and it makes sense to run it through one of the most famously wealthy and social media-active people on the planet.
In fact, scammers have been using posts very similar to this one to trick people into giving away personal information for years, albeit mostly to Facebook denizens.
Is giving away money to random people on social media an absolute good? Of course.
No one short of the shrieking ghost of Ayn Rand or the slowly melting wax statue of Paul Ryan objects in principle to handing out money, even in small amounts, to those in need.
The issue is both the way that Kim superficially appears to be the one doling out wads of cash, and the fact that she herself probably made a bundle from running this ad.
To be clear, with the exception of perhaps some Leftier-than-thou tryhards on social media, no one is blaming Kim for outrageous income inequality, decades of wage stagnation, or the pandemic.
But given the going rate to run any kind of ad through someone like Kim on social media, fans suspect that she was paid more by Cashapp than all of the recipients of this promotional giveaway combined.
It's the government's job to promote the general welfare of the American people -- it says so right in the Constitution -- but seeing an almost-billionaire offer a sum like this of a company's money can be hard for someone who had to skip presents this year to keep the lights on.
People have been saying Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are on the brink of divorce since about a week after they got married, and I’m pretty sure all of those people have been right. At this point, I think Kim and Kanye just aren’t getting divorced out of stubbornness. We’ve all seen Kanye West and realized that amount of time you could reasonably stay married to him is about a day.
While Kim and Kanye refuse to get it over with and get divorced, they do appear to be separated, according to People.
After weathering a tumultuous summer, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West are still together — though a source says they “very much live separate lives” currently.
“Kim has work and projects that are important to her, and Kanye has his,” the source tells PEOPLE. “Their lives don’t overlap much.” (A rep for Kardashian West, 40, had no comment when reached by PEOPLE, and a rep for West, 43, did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.)
Still, the source says “Kim seems happy” and is “very focused on work and causes.”
Kim’s work and causes are mostly prison reform, a cause that has been gaining in popularity with the public who have historically only wanted to make prisons worse. Even for them, the for-profit prison model is a bridge too far.
The post It Sounds a Lot Like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are Seperated appeared first on The Blemish.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are still husband and wife.
This is literally and legally true.
But are they in love? Are they committed?
Is this a relationship that will truly stand the test of time?
With insiders alleging that Kimye remains on the verge of divorce, People Magazine has published a new report that basically backs up this alarming yet inevitable assertion.
Simply put, the rapper and the reality star are living "separate lives," according to this typically-reliable publication.
"Kim has work and projects that are important to her, and Kanye has his," a source tells this outlet, adding:
"Their lives don't overlap much."
The famous couple has been on a roller coaster for most of 2020, ever since Kanye announced his failed Presidential run and went public with various details of his relationship.
Most infamously and notoriously, West said he wanted to abort daughter North West after he learned Kardashian was pregnant many years ago.
West hasn't said very much since he lost to Joe Biden, while Kardashian has set her sights on a legitimate political and societal topic.
She spoke out strongly, for example, in the wake of Brandon Bernard being executed this week.
"She strongly believes she can make a change when it comes to prison reform," this same People source says of the mother of four, who is studying to become an attorney.
"This is her passion," the anonymous individual says of Kardashian's justice reform advocacy. "Her family is very proud of her."
For good reason, to be honest.
Kim has made quite a few missteps along the way, most recently hosting a birthday party on a private island amid a deadly pandemic.
But prison reform? Battling against the death penalty?
Even if you disagree with Kardashian on these subjects, you must admire her for trying to use her platform to influence causes in which she belives.
Kanye, conversely, actually ran for President of the United States this year... without actually taking a stance on anything of substance.
Hence why there's pretty evident tension between the spouses, who are parents to the following children:
Daughters North, 7, and Chicago, 3; as well as sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, 18 months.
Will Kim and Kanye ever get divorced? We strongly doubt it.
But their honeymoon phase ended ages ago.
They are evidently only sticking together now for the sake of their kids and/or for the positive PR that comes with a successful marriage.
Successful in air quotes, of course.
Kardashian, in July, publicly touched on her husband's bipolar disorder diagnosis in a lengthy statement, asking fans for "compassion."
She most recently posted about the couple's relationship in a Nov. 22 Instagram post.
"Happy 10 year anniversary to Kanye's 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' album," she wrote, citing the artist's smash hit album.
There's still love between the two a decade later, and she wants to make sure we know it.
"For those that don't know the story behind 'Lost In The World' .. .Kanye couldn't come up with some of the lyrics but then realized he had them in a poem he had written me that was my birthday card he gave me for my 30th birthday."
"He took the poem he wrote me and made it the song," she continued.
"I keep everything!"
As it turns out, the Kardashains aren't going anywhere.
Yes, the famous/polarizing family are walking away from the show that made them famous...
... but they are walking right into a brand new small screen home for themselves.
It was announced on Thursday -- at Disney’s Investor Day -- that Kim, Kourtney, Khle, Kris, Kendall and Kylie are headed to Hulu.
Per the official press release these veteran reality stars will:
Create global content, which will stream exclusively on Hulu in the U.S. and in multiple territories on Star internationally. Expected debut is late 2021 and additional details will be shared when available.
This is all we know about the deal at the moment.
But you better believe the Kardashians and Jenners don't come cheap.
"Excited to announce our new multi year partnership with Hulu and Star and what's to come in 2021 @hulu," Kris Jenner Tweeted about the news, while Kourtney Kardashian added:
Back in September, E! and the Kardashian-Jenner clan announced that Keeping Up with the Kardashians would end after its 20th season in 2021.
It was assumed that the program was going off the air due to low ratings and simply due to various family members wanting to move on.
For a duration of last season, for example, Kourtney kept saying she wanted to quit.
"It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians," Kim and company said late this past summer.
"After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and several spin-off shows, we've decided as a family to end this very special journey.
"We are beyond grateful to all of you who've watched us for all of these years -- through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children.
"We'll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we've met along the way."
"Thank you to the thousands of individuals and businesses that have been a part of this experience and most importantly, a very special thank you to Ryan Seacrest for believing in us, E! for being our partner, and our production team at Bunim/Murray who've spent countless hours filming our lives.
"Our last season will air early next year in 2021.
"We love you!"
It's worth noting here that E! paid the family $150 million the last time they renewed their contract in 2017.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (aka Prince Harry and Meghan Markle) recently signed their a deal with Netflix, which is thought to be worth $147 million
In other words:
You better believe the Kardashians will be raking it in with Hulu.
Wrote E! in September:
E! has been the home and extended family to the Kardashian-Jenners for what will be 14 years, featuring the lives of this empowering family.
Along with all of you, we have enjoyed following the intimate moments the family so bravely shared by letting us into their daily lives.
While it has been an absolute privilege and we will miss them wholeheartedly, we respect the family's decision to live their lives without our cameras...
We thank the entire extended family and our production partners, Bunim Murray and Ryan Seacrest Productions for embarking on this global phenomenon together.
When it comes to wealth and fame, few families can top the Kardashians (sure, there are the Trumps, but Donald is $400 million in debt, which is not very baller).
However, it seems that power is a different matter entirely.
Forbes magazine released its annual World's Most Powerful Women list this week, and it seems that not a single name from the entire Kar-Jenner clan appears anywhere on the list of 100 movers and shakers.
Granted, the list dominated by politicians and CEOs -- as it probably should be -- but plenty of celebrities made the cut, as well.
Rihanna and Beyonce were both included, as was the Queen of All Media, Oprah Winfrey.
The list is topped by the likes of Angela Merkel and Kamala Harris, so perhaps it was foolish for the members of the Kard clan to believe they would be included.
But you know they thought that at least one of them would earn a spot.
And now that they've been thoroughly snubbed, you can bet that their reaction to being left out is downright Trumpian.
Although to be fair, there's actually some basis for the theory that the Kards might be the victims of a conspiracy theory.
After all, Kim and company have been beefing with the folks at Forbes for much of 2020.
It all started when Kylie Jenner was named the world's youngest self-made billionaire back in 2019.
It was Forbes that bestowed that title upon her, but in an unprecedented move, the editors reversed their decision this year and reported that they had been duped by misleading figures.
The magazine now claims that Kylie is not a billionaire and never was, and they even suggested that she lied about her net worth.
Forbes has yet to re-confer billionaire status upon Kylie, even after she sold 51 percent of her makeup company for $1.2 billion back in January.
However, Forbes did declare Kanye West a billionaire, but the rapper and sneaker mogul claims the magazine dramatically underestimated his net worth.
Kanye claims he's worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 billion, while the magazine puts him at just over $1 billion.
Of course, either way, this means that Kim is a billionaire who is married to a billionaire, and it seems like that would be enough to earn her a spot on the Forbes 100.
And it's not just money that makes Mrs. West a juggernaut, either.
Kim helped secure presidential pardons for numerous non-violent offenders who had been locked up for life, and she's currently hard at work on becoming a lawyer.
If that's not power, we don't know what is!
But for whatever reason, it seems it just wasn't in the cards for her this year.
Perhaps it was the stigma associated with the Kardashian name, or maybe the family's intense feud with the magazine played a role.
Sadly, unlike Trump, the Kardashians are unable to demand a recount.
You know Kanye would be in court over this if he had any legal recourse at all.
2020 is the strangest year of my life and it isn’t even close. The pandemic and isolation have driven us all to collectively snap or something because everything just seems weird.
For example, everyone was obsessed with Tiger King on Netflix, a true-crime doc about an overly flamboyant big cat zoo owner who goes by Joe Exotic who was convicted of trying to hire an assassin to kill his rival Carole Baskin, who herself had a spouse disappear under mysterious circumstances.
Joe maintains his innocence and thinks his newfound fame might be enough to convince outgoing President Donald Trump to pardon him as he leaves the White House. Joe may actually get his wish because Trump was always more circus promoter than leader anyway.
His legal team said he was close to a pardon last week, and we just learned from Entertainment Tonight that Joe even reached out to Kim Kardashian to see if she could get the President’s ear on his behalf.
“I know you have never met me and may never want to however I do believe that you hold the values of our justice system dear to your heart,” Joe writes in the letter dated Nov. 4. “I am writing you this letter not as Joe Exotic but as the person Joseph Maldonado-Passage, asking you to please help me by just taking 10 minutes out of your life and placing a call to President Trump to look at my 257 page pardon it’s all the evidence I’m innocent and ask him to sign my pardon so I can return home to [my husband] Dillon [Passage] and my father.”
I can’t blame Joe for exploring all his options, but does it seem weird to anyone else that Kim Kardashian is now the face of prison reform? Kim is handling an actually important case as she’s petitioning President Trump to commute the death sentence of Brandon Bernard, which is scheduled to take place December 10th.
L.A. County’s new D.A. is also interested in talking to Kim Kardashian about prison reform, a sentence I never in a million years thought I would write but here we are. So 2020, in addition to everything else, is the year where you need Kim Kardashian to notice you if you want justice. Excellent trend.

The Presidential election is over, and enough votes have been counted in enough states for every major news outlet to confidently report that Joe Biden will be the next president of the United States. This might be good news to you or it might be bad news to you and honestly, it really shouldn’t matter all that much because there’s very little difference between them.
One of the odder things to come out of this election, though, is that for whatever reason people really, really care how Kim Kardashian voted.
Lol but who did you vote for?
— Old Money (@Jearr) November 7, 2020
So who you vote for Kimberly?
— Gretel Bonilla (@gretelb5) November 7, 2020
Now you might think I’m about to tell you that kit doesn’t matter who Kim Kardashian voted for because she’s a rich, out-of-touch reality TV star whose worldview likely doesn’t align with anyone whose home doesn’t have a walk-in refrigerator. But you’re wrong.
I’m going to tell you it doesn’t matter who Kim Kardashian voted for because she lives in Calabasas and Joe Biden won California by over four million votes. Two-thirds of the most populated state voted for Biden; Kim or any California voted could write themselves in for president and it would not make even the tiniest difference.
Maybe you think Kanye West’s vote matters because he lives in Wyoming, a state with a population of basically just Kanye West, and somehow Kim is responsible for him but again, you couldn’t be more wrong. Kanye West has never voted for anyone but Kanye West and will never vote for anyone but Kanye West because Kanye West only actually cares about Kanye West. Kanye showed his ballot and he didn’t even bother to vote in any of the down-ballot races, he just marked the bubble by his name and said “Okay, we’re good here.” He was never going to vote for Biden or Trump.
Let me tell you a story about my grandmother. Whoever the president was, my grandmother liked him, whether she voted for him or not. She said George W Bush was a great man and when Barack Obama was elected she said he was a great man even though she was kind of racist because she was born in the 20s or something. She respected the President because he was our leader.
I never really got it and I mostly disagreed, I think Obama was the best president in my lifetime and I also think he was still a pretty lousy president. But I don’t understand the desire to brand people who worked with Trump like you’re Aldo Raine; Kim Kardashian did more to accomplish left-wing policy under Donald Trump by working with him in prison reform than Barack Obama or Nancy Pelosi did in the same four years, she’s not the bad guy here.
Politics is not a team sport and when you attack Kim Kardashian who is, by the way, celebrating the victory of the guy we kind of think is okay or at least better than the other guy, you don’t have to comment about how bad she sucks. Kim Kardashian is smarter and more politically informed than anyone asking her how she voted and that is not me complimenting Kim, I’ll tell you that for sure.

There is a civil war brewing that is threatening to tear our country apart. I’m expecting rioting and massive violence with each side almost religiously entrenched and out for blood. I am, of course, talking about the feud between Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian.
The Sun reports that Jenner is at her wits end with the way Kim insists the world revolves around her.
A source revealed: “At least two of the sisters are always fighting – that’s how families are – but right now there’s major tension between Kylie and Kim.
“Firstly, there’s no way Kylie had time or wanted to quarantine for two weeks before the trip and she told her that. She’s tired of Kim making demands and everyone having to do what she says.
Kylie was notably absent from Kim’s 40th birthday bash, which turned out to be a really smart move on her part. She turned out to be the only winner in that debacle. While her entire family was getting dragged, she was a sexy Power Ranger.
I would rank her as maybe the second sexiest Power Ranger, behind Mao Ichimichi.
“But also, she just didn’t want the pressure of being on a huge trip with Kim – they bicker about everything to how much she ‘owes her success’ to Kim, to who is more successful.”
They added: “Kylie hates conflict, so she booked in other commitments and avoided another fight.”
Kylie. Kylie is clearly more successful. Which kind of explains why Kim is so demanding, she’s been shown up by her younger sister who is famous for more than making a sex tape with a famous person’s brother.

All Kim Kardashian wanted to do was have a nice, quiet, humble birthday party on a remote private island with all her friends and family in the middle of a deadly pandemic. What could possibly go wrong?
Kim Kardashian is married to Kanye West and they have four kids together, so she’s clearly not a great critical thinker. Those were the skills that were on display when she tweeted about her birthday bash Tuesday night.
After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time. pic.twitter.com/cIFP7Nv5bV

A lot of people like the Kardashian’s built their brands as influencers by basically presenting themselves as the gentry; they’re rich and they flash their cash around and show off all the luxury brand-name goods they own or are pretending to own.
As it turns out, that branding isn’t very popular when people are not only stuck inside but in a lot of cases potentially losing their livelihood or even their homes because a pandemic has shut everything down and the government has offered virtually no assistance for most of the country despite giving millions of dollars to idiot billionaires. So seeing said billionaires jet off to a private island like Prince Prospero is just a slap in the face now.
Kim’s tone-deaf post quickly became a meme.

If you don’t know what movie that is, it’s called Battle Royale and it is an incredibly chilling Japanese film that’s sort of like if The Hunger Games was actually good. You should watch it.

Where does her arm go? I suppose she could have it turned up at the elbow and it’s just behind Khloe’s arm and back but it’s a pretty tight shot that you can’t see any of it or like, her hand on her sister’s shoulder.
People seem to be a little tired of the Kardashians. It turns out rich idiots are only amusing to a point and then you’re just ready to roll out the guillotine.
The post Kim Kardashian’s 40th Birthday Was an Absolute Disaster appeared first on The Blemish.
I’d like to think of myself as being pretty hard to surprise by now.
Part of that is just how terrible this year has been. Part of it is that I spend way, way too much time online, seeing through the prisms of humanity’s worst inventions – Twitter, Facebook, and social media overall – just how strange the world is nowadays.
I’ve seen female conservative activists claim they think letting women vote was a bad idea. I’ve seen the Ukrainian government set up an entire social media account where they accuse Russia of being a toxic ex.
I’ve seen one of my favorite rappers, A$AP Rocky, being mentioned by a diplomatic ambassador during the impeachment trial of the President of the United States. This, of course, being the very same president who tweeted puns after trying to bully Sweden (our ally) to release Rocky.
Basically, call me a cynic, but it takes a lot to catch me off guard nowadays.
So when I say that I was surprised a while ago to see Dua Lipa of all people stoking nationalism in the Western Balkans last month, you can see why that’s impressive.
Yes, Dua Lipa, known for her hits “New Rules” and “Don’t Start Now” and…ugh…“Physical,” made big headlines across Europe and the United States for tweeting a map of what’s called Greater Albania, essentially claiming that portions of neighboring Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Greece belong to Albania.
If that all made very little sense, don’t worry, Balkan politics are messy and confusing. Basically, Serbs and Albanians tend to hate each other, and they especially fight over Kosovo, an Albanian-majority breakaway country from Serbia…where Dua Lipa’s parents came from before settling in London.
Essentially, most people walk on eggshells when they talk about anything relating to Kosovo, Serbia, Albania, really any of the countries in the area.
And then you’ve got this popstar sauntering in and tweeting her pride for Albanian land claims, before defending herself the next day by saying she’s against all kinds of hate, after a bunch of Serbs, Montenegrins, and Croats roasted her alive.
The ironic part? Dua Lipa wasn’t even the only singer out on this weird West Balkan binge. Rita Ora, another British superstar of Kosovar Albanian origin, had posted the day before pushing Apple to designate Kosovo on their map system (Apple, like all good huge companies, avoids getting entangled with hot political issues).
Yeah, all we need now is for Bebe Rexha to stop “working on her album” (who are we kidding, it’s been over two years, she’s retired and spending those checks on home) and come out in favor of taking Corfu back from the Greeks in order to get the Albanian celebrity trifecta.
But I don’t want you to think this is something that only happens regarding the Balkans and their weird, screwed-up politics. No, let’s go farther southeast, to the northern Middle East (always a good idea when we head to that area, right?), near the Caucasus Mountains.
Currently, Armenia and Azerbaijan are having some troubles. Much like the Balkan thing, this is an issue that goes back hundreds of years, mostly over a small territory between them called Artsakh. This is not the first time they’ve gone to war over the issue, but it is the first time in a few years.
With Turkey backing Azerbaijan and Russia presumably going to support its Armenian ally, this is going to be perhaps the messiest story of an already messy year. However, what I didn’t really see coming was another party jumping in: Kim Kardashian.
Yes, Kim Kardashian West, fashion icon, supermodel, and proof that the beautiful ones always choose the crazy guys, has been relentlessly posting in support of Armenia since the war’s outbreak.
Her choosing Armenia over Azerbaijan is probably due to her family lineage: her dad’s side of the family is Armenian-American, not too surprising for anyone who’s ever been to Glendale, California.
Between her husband’s Twitter meltdowns and her visits to Mexico, apparently, Kim’s been pushing the Trump administration, and the Obama one before it, to back Armenia more often, despite not speaking the language. She even visited the country with husband and daughter in tow in 2015, taking a few publicity shots by the official Armenian Genocide memorial.
And this is what’s been so weird as of late. It’s not that celebrities are using their platforms to talk about politics; that’s a tale as old as time. Stormzy comes out on the Glasgow stage flanked by Jeremy Corbyn. Ted Nugent spent eight years gunning for Obama as if the guy had broken his sister’s heart.
Hell, Alyssa Milano has made an entire second career out of just being one of the loudest voices for the American left (which is a tough category to win, given the entire cast of The West Wing qualifies).
No, the weird thing is how American and British celebrities are increasingly turning out as ardent supporters of causes that an overwhelming majority of their fans would not know about in the slightest.
The Balkans is a hot topic in Europe, Turkey, and Russia, maybe, but for most of the world? Nobody cares, especially not the fourteen-year-old fan of some pop star in Boston.
As for Kim Kardashian’s latest big cause, she may get a lot of love from Yerevan, but stateside, nothing really. Americans can’t even point out Iraq on a map, and we’ve been in that country for twenty years. You want them to know about Armenia and Azerbaijan?
I guess really this was inevitable. Artists have gotten such huge platforms; they were bound to start switching up. Why focus on just abortion rights or issues like gay marriage when a majority of your supporters already probably support them anyway?
No, if you want to really make a splash, you have to change lanes. If every big-city liberal is talking about the Supreme Court, then you go and talk about the Uyghurs in China, or the issue of the Ethiopian Great Renaissance Dam.
You have the platform, you have the celebrity; these guys are just making it global.
