Brett Young’s Baby Makes a Surprise Appearance on His New Single: ‘She Was a Little Musician Before She Knew It’
Before you even hear Brett Young‘s first tender words on his new single, “Lady,” you hear something else: the steady rhythm of his daughter Presley‘s fetal heartbeat, recorded during a doctor’s visit when Young’s wife, Taylor, was just two months pregnant.
“Yeah, she was a little musician before she knew it,” Young, chuckling, tells PEOPLE exclusively.
But then it’s only fitting that Presley gets to upstage Dad a little since it is, after all, a song that she inspired.
“I always knew I would want to write songs for my children,” says the 39-year-old artist — but this song, released Friday, is much more than that. It’s also a love letter to his wife, an expression of hope that his daughter will one day follow in the footsteps of the woman he calls “Lady.”
And not in the Jerry Lewis “Hey, Laaaaadeeeee” way, Young is quick to set straight. It’s actually one of his affectionate nicknames for Taylor — “kind of a joke between me and my wife,” he says — so it was only natural, when the couple learned they were having a girl, that Young began calling their unborn daughter “Little Lady.”
He brought that snippet of an idea into the songwriters’ room last July with Jon Nite and Ross Copperman, and once they landed on the concept, the process “happened really, really fast,” recalls Young, who’s just celebrated his sixth consecutive No. 1 with “Catch.”
After Copperman worked up a quick demo, Young drove home to share the recording with his pregnant wife.
“And of course I couldn’t wait,” he recalls. “So I sent it to her, and of course I missed the part where she was apparently sobbing and weeping listening to it.”
Not that the tears have ever ended. Once he got home, Young says, they wept as they listened to the song together for the first time. “Actually,” he adds, “I think she would agree that she probably still gets teared up every time she hears it.”
Granting that “it’s okay for the world to know I’m a softie,” Young confesses he isn’t much different from his wife. “It’s difficult to sing on stage,” he says. “I have to almost go blank on purpose and not think about the words, because if I do, it’s hard to get through.”
In fact, for a time, Young decided the song was too personal to release to the public. “I thought it was just a gift for my wife and daughter,” he says. But after producer Dann Huff presented him with a finished version — also as a baby gift — Young says he realized “maybe people need to hear this.”

Heart Explosion // I can’t think of a better way than to celebrate another #1 record at country radio than with my beautiful family. What a blessing and privilege. Thank you all for all the love and support. I’m truly blessed! Hope y’all are staying safe and healthy! -B

The singer says it was his idea to include Presley’s fetal heartbeat on the track, the perfect accompaniment to the song’s first line: “I remember when I first heard your heartbeat.”
“Our doctor said, ‘Okay, you probably want to get your phone out and take a video of this because you’re about to hear a heartbeat for the first time,” Young recalls. “And so I videoed it probably a good minute and a half. And of course my wife and I are talking and crying through the whole thing. Luckily, there was a long enough snippet in there where we were quiet, and it was just the heartbeat.”
Backdropped by a slideshow featuring Taylor and Presley, Young has been performing “Lady” as the setlist closer on his “The Chapters” tour; it’s the natural spot since the song encapsulates his latest life chapter. Though he was able to perform it only a few times before the tour was postponed in March, reaction has been so overwhelming, he says, that picking it as his new single was a no-brainer.
“There were a lot of social media posts by people who’d taken videos at the shows,” he says, “and so we were already getting a lot of requests on social media from people wondering when they were going to be able to get the song. You hope it happens that way — you hope the fans ask for your next single — so that was kind of a fortunate position to be in with this one.”
At the heart of the song is Young’s wish for his daughter to “learn how to be a lady” just like her mother. So what does “being a lady” mean to Young?
“Well, that’s the whole point,” Young says, laughing. “I have no idea! I’m so grateful that I’m not the one having to teach that.”
Turning more reflective, he offers a generous tribute to Taylor: “If I had to put into words what it means when I look at my wife, I think it’s just patience and class and grace and kindness and confidence — all those qualities that we want for ourselves.”
Young says he’d always looked forward to fatherhood, and yet he says, once Taylor became pregnant, the idea of actually raising another human being also turned “terrifying.” But those fears (confessed in the lyrics of “Lady”), were eased by the faith he put in his wife.
“Knowing that my wife grew up nannying and knowing what she was doing and loving children,” he says, “was the thing that I always circled back to that gave me peace.”

Since Presley’s birth six months ago, Young’s faith in his wife’s gifts has been amply confirmed: “Whenever I’m like, I don’t know what to do right here, I just go, ‘Hey, babe, what’s the answer here?’ And she’s always got it.”
That doesn’t mean Young has been shirking his parental duties. “I kinda feel guilty admitting this, but I mostly get to experience the fun stuff,” he allows, “but I’m going to take credit for this: I do change my share of dirty diapers. I’m not afraid of a full diaper!”
Presley, he says, has also been making parenthood easy. “We’ve been really fortunate with her demeanor and her spirit,” he says, “so yeah … I don’t feel like I’ve screwed her up yet. So that’s the good news.”
Though he’s missing the stage, Young says he’s now savoring this unexpected down time with his wife and daughter. Currently quarantining with his wife’s family in Palm Desert, California, Young says he’s been luxuriating in witnessing Presley simply encounter life.
“She’ll stare at a ceiling fan for 15 minutes and be enthralled,” says the proud papa. “You’re constantly wondering what she must be thinking. She might be experiencing joy or she might be confused. It’s just so innocent and genuine and telling to the type of little person she’s already becoming. When it’s your child, it’s really special to watch and see.”
So has Presley gotten her own private performance of “Lady”? Many times, Young confirms. But the Little Lady seems to have a different preference.
“There’s another stupid song that I’ve made up since she was born to get her to stop crying,” he says, “and we end up going to that song a lot more often because it actually still works to keep her from crying.”

The lyrics change according to the circumstance, Young explains, adding that this one will definitely not be headed for public consumption.
No worries: There will surely be more Presley-inspired songs for fans, Young assures. He’s also certain about one more thing.
“Daddy will definitely be singing to her her whole life,” he says, “so she better get used to that.”
Paris Jackson Breaks Silence After Seeking Treatment for Physical and Emotional Health: I Am ‘Feeling Better Than Ever’
Paris Jackson is opening up about seeking treatment for her physical and emotional health.
“Yes i’ve taken a break from work and social media and my phone because it can be too much sometimes, and everyone deserves a break, but i am happy and healthy and feeling better than ever!” Jackson wrote in her first post on Instagram since Dec. 12, alongside of a selfie of herself with a dog, in which the top of her face was cropped out.
The 20-year-old model and singer also revealed that her band, The Sound Flowers, “have some new music we’re stoked to share with y’all!” adding: “hope you guys’ new year started out with lots of love and light and all the things. i’ll be back soon!!”

On Tuesday, PEOPLE confirmed Jackson sought help at a treatment facility.
“After a busy year of work engagements that took her all over the globe, Paris decided that she needed to take some time off to reboot, realign and prioritize her physical and emotional health,” a source close to the daughter of the late Michael Jackson told PEOPLE. “She checked herself into a treatment facility to aid in her wellness plan and is looking forward to coming out of this revitalized and ready to tackle the exciting new projects that await her.”
In recent years, Jackson has been open about struggling with anxiety and depression, as well as dealing with the trauma from a sexual assault in her teenage years.
In a 2017 Rolling Stone profile, the young star admitted she has attempted suicide several times.
“I was going through a lot of, like teen angst. And I was also dealing with my depression and my anxiety without any help,” she told the magazine of a June 2013 attempt at age 15. “It was just self-hatred … Low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore.”
After spending months in Russia training for a trip to outer space that she postponed in 2015, Brightman, 58, opened up to PEOPLE exclusively about the creation of her newest album and the planning stages of her tour.
“I needed to earth myself,” says the soprano singer. “I said I would like to do an album of songs which are full of light, full of hope. Songs that remind me of when I felt safe and familiar with things in my childhood when I sang in my church.”
“If I don’t use and I don’t convey my feelings through it, I feel depleted,” she added. “I don’t function very well and that’s the beauty of having a gift like a voice. You sort of know what to do. You know what direction to take, you know that you want to communicate through it.”
Brightman, who shot to fame after star-turning roles on Broadway musicals Cats and Phantom of the Opera, linked up with producer Frank Peterson for the album-creating process. What came out of two-and-a-half years of planning and recording was the dynamic, choir-filled album, Hymn, out on Nov. 9.
“ is about looking into the good in things because I do believe that good prevails always,” she said, adding that the word “positivity” would describe her album.
“I did experience huge amounts when I was in the space program that actually how precious everything really is on this beautiful planet and how precious that is,” she added.
Now, the “Time to Say Goodbye” vocalist is ready to take Hymn on the road later this fall for a tour that’s “going to be quite beautiful.”
“I have a lot of energy. I tend to before I go on these tours, I become more energetic,” she says. “You create a power for yourself which will protect you because when you go on tour you’re dealing with the hardship of jet lag and moving around continually.”
The “Angel of Music” singer says her set on tour will be divided into two halves. The first will feature a more retrospective aspect to Brightman’s music, which will look like “somebody who is going to the ballet or the opera.” The second will be a bit more modern and feature most of the songs off Hymn.
“I’m wearing all these amazing runway gowns, which I’ve made a little more theatrical by adding things to them. Stones, crystals, all sorts of stuff,” she says. “I’ve got a big choir behind me. Up really high. I’ve got an orchestra on one side, a band on the other side and myself in the middle.”
Brightman’s album is filled with collaborations with artists like French tenor Vincent Niclo on single “Sogni” and Japanese composer Yoshiki on the emotional “Miracle.”
“ is a really interesting guy and we got along very well,” she said. “It was a very interesting collaboration with Japan’s most famous rockstar writing a beautiful contemporary classical piece.”
Along with the collaborations, Brightman’s album jumps from classical and cinematic music to pop rhythms in a cohesive album threaded by its spiritual nature. The album also takes fans back to one of her most famous classics “Time to Say Goodbye” with Andrea Bocelli, which she recreates in a touching English rendition.
“I wrote the lyrics for it but they were very much inspired from the original Italian lyrics when translated,” she said. “It’s quite a grand song, it’s almost like an opera song, but I wanted to do this in a very intimate way.”
Fans can purchase tickets for “Hymn: Sarah Brightman in Concert” through her website.
“Justin has his up and down days like everyone else,” a Bieber source tells PEOPLE. “What he struggles with mostly is that he knows he is beyond blessed, but he has days when he feels empty and confused.”
“He feels something is missing from his life that can’t be bought. It’s a missing feeling of happiness,” the insider explained. “He is very much grateful for his amazing life and especially for Hailey. It’s difficult for him that he can’t just enjoy everything and feel happy. He has been in treatment for this before.”
Bieber, who recently shaved his head, was dressed casually in a blue jacket and grey sweatpants. Baldwin, 21, also opted for a low-key look, wearing a pair of black leather pants, a black sweatshirt and a white jacket.
Sources recently told PEOPLE that Bieber’s decision to dial back his work commitments has to do with his desire to spend more time with Baldwin, whom he wed in a secret ceremony in September.
“Justin seems okay. However, he doesn’t seem ready to record new music yet and keeps saying that he just wants to hang out with Hailey,” an insider said. “Hailey actually seems more ready to work than he does. They have had a few conflicts about it. Justin likes to just hang out, watch movies and chill. Hailey has a lot of energy and projects that she wants to do.”

A religious source revealed to PEOPLE that part of Bieber’s resistance to work is because “he’s been on the go for a long time, and he’s enjoying a laid-back season of life. He is enjoying time with the woman he loves, and doesn’t want anything to get in the way of that. He’ll get back to work soon, but the truth is that he doesn’t have to. He’s got enough money.”
While the newlyweds have had “a little bit of conflict” over this, Baldwin is totally comfortable with her husband’s decisions.
“Hailey understands how hard Justin worked for so long, and is fine with him taking a break. If she has things she wants to do, Justin is fine with that,” the source continued. “There has been a little bit of conflict, but nothing out of the ordinary. They’re still very much in love, and their families love each other. That’s all that matters.”

Jason, 41, previously told PEOPLE that he and Brittany, 31, chose to undergo in vitro fertilization again after welcoming the couple’s son in December 2017.
“After having our son, we knew we wanted to have two kids,” said Jason. “I have my two older daughters already, so after Memphis was born we knew we wanted to have another one pretty quick — to go ahead and knock it out and have one that was a little closer in age to him.”
“In heels!” Chopra, 36, groaned as she wore a mustard-yellow dress with a matching overcoat while a beaming Turner, 22, clung to her. “This is what you have to do for sister-in-laws these days.”
She added “#TheJSisters” and “#HighHeelFails,” plus a GIF that flashed the word “sisterhood.”
Earlier on Sunday, Chopra showed off her whole “squad” in a sunny Instagram by the river, which she captioned “Setting sail….” Chopra looked fashionable in a furry cream sweater dress, long coat and snake-skin boots, while Turner opted for a white sweater, blue coat and jeans. Halle Berry commented with five red hearts.
Chopra also shared an Instagram Story picture in which she cuddled up under her coat with furry red slippers and comfy grey pants as she sat on a doorstep. She slapped on “#morningafter,” “#BacheloretteVibes” and a GIF that read “2 glam for am.”
Meanwhile, Turner posted a picture of Chopra posing in a tiara and a “Bride to Be” sash. In sleek shades, Chopra paired a high-waisted patterned skirt and an orange, red and black sweater with boots.

On Saturday, Chopra kicked off the bachelorette bash with a joyful photo in the sweater dress that included “#BacheloretteVibes.” She also gave a peek into the fun on her Instagram Story with snapshots of pink flowers, champagne and balloons and those red slippers.
“Be good,” the Jonas brothers’ mother Denise commented on the first photo with a red heart emoji.
Chopra and Nick may tie the knot before Turner and her fiancé, despite the fact that Chopra got engaged in July 2018 and Turner announced her engagement in October 2017.
“Even though Joe’s been engaged longer, it wouldn’t be surprising if Nick got married first,” a source told PEOPLE in October. “They’re not really competitive in terms of who’s going to get hitched first.”
“Everything’s going really, really well with Priyanka,” the source continued. “Nick will do what he wants to do.”
“First I’m blessed with an incredible future brother-in-law, and now such beautiful, inside and out, future sister-in-law,” Turner wrote on Instagram after Nick and Chopra’s engagement news. “I’m so excited to welcome you into the family @priyankachopra . I love you both @nickjonas.”
In October, Chopra had her wedding shower at Tiffany’s & Co. store in Manhattan.
The country star, 37, wed longtime love Taylor Mills, 31, on Saturday in Palm Springs, California in front of more than 200 of their closest friends and family, PEOPLE confirms exclusively.
“Being able to be best friends with a person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with is the most important thing,” says the “Mercy” singer about his bride, whom he met more than 10 years ago in Arizona. “She has a very pure, kind heart.”
The newlyweds chose not to have a first look (“I wanted the first time I saw her to be when she walked down the aisle,” says Young) and exchanged personalized vows during an emotional ceremony that was officiated by Young’s father Brad, a pastor, and Van Hazelitt, Young’s manager and groomsman.
Mills stunned in a custom wedding gown created by Justin Alexander, featuring long sleeves and a low back. “It just really embodies me,” she says about her bridal look, which was perfected with soft waves and natural makeup by 10.11 Makeup Artistry. Young looked dapper in a custom tux by J. Hilburn.
Afterwards, the couple — who shared their first dance to a special rendition of “Forever Young” produced by Young’s longtime producer Dann Huff — celebrated their new union by partying at a rollicking reception with their guests.

Young’s friend and fellow country singer Lee Brice hit the stage to sing “I Don't Dance” before a six-piece band took over; while his “idol” Gavin DeGraw also sang love song “More Than Anyone” at the féte (planned by Elite Events).
“We chose people in terms of performers that are really important to us and are close friends,” says Mills. Adds Young: “If everybody in the country music family could’ve been there, we would’ve asked them all to sing!”
Mirrored tables at the reception were marked with cities (including Los Angeles, Nashville, Scottsdale and more) that are meaningful to the couple and decorated by tall floral bridges by Butterfly Floral & Event Design.
Along with steak, chicken and Southern fare, the Youngs also served two wedding cakes by Exquisite Desserts, including a vanilla cake with banana-cream filling and another vanilla creation with strawberry filling.
Next up, the couple are jetting off to a beachy honeymoon and looking forward to starting a family sooner than later.
“We’ve been together for a long time and we do want kids soon,” says Young, who is heading out on tour next year with Kelsea Ballerini after his sophomore album, Ticket to L.A., drops on Dec. 7. “This is the beginning of our life together, and I’m excited to say husband and wife!”

The singer, 25, revealed that the song would come first but both would share the same title: “thank u, next” — the same words Grande appeared to lodge towards Davidson on Thursday after he joked about their failed relationship in a Saturday Night Live promo.
In the show’s clip, the 24-year-old comedian — who got engaged to Grande after a month of dating — indirectly referenced Grande when he introduced himself to musical guest Maggie Rogers and jokingly proposed to her in one fell swoop. Rogers, 24, quickly declined, and Davidson responded by saying he’s “0-3,” alluding to his failed relationships.
After the video was published, Grande tweeted, “For somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh.” She followed up with another that read, “thank u, next.”
Grande soon deleted her tweets, but that hasn’t stopped her from repeatedly using “thank u, next.”
On Friday, she added the word “next” to a photo of a “thank you” balloon on her Instagram Story. That same day she repeated the phrase in a series of tweets that could be lyrics to that aforementioned song.
“‘Cause look what i found …. ain’t no need for searching and for that i say…. thank u, next,” she wrote. “Got so much love….. got so much patience….. i’ve learnt from the pain …. and turnt out amazin…. say i’ve loved and i’ve lost….. but that’s not what i see cause look what i got…. look what u taught me / and for that i say ……. thank u, next.”

“I’m gonna jus keep creating and putting stuff out as i please ” she added. “It feels good to my soul and i love keeping the kids fed.”

Grande’s last album, Sweetener, was released on Aug. 17 and famously features a track titled “Pete Davidson.”
Prior to Thursday, things between Grande and Davidson appeared to be very civil.
The two called it quits in October after getting engaged in June. “It was way too much too soon,” a Grande source told PEOPLE at the time. “It’s not shocking to anyone.”
Sources close to the couple told TMZ that the decision to split was a mutual choice, as both the pop star and Davidson felt the timing wasn’t right.
Meanwhile, Grande said in October that she’s been relying on music to help her get through a difficult few months.
“It fixes everything,” Grande tweeted after a fan commended her passion for music.
“The absolute love of my life,” she wrote on Twitter, referring to her tiny companion. “I have no idea what i did …… to deserve her.”
Just seven months after the couple welcomed twin boys, the father of four announced that he and his wife are expecting their fifth child during his concert on Friday night at Madison Square Garden.
“Some of you may know that we have four children,” the musician said, according to a video published by The Blast. “We just had twins, about seven months ago. Now there’s four for us, but we’re gonna make it five!”
A rep for Stapleton had no comment on the news.
On Saturday, Stapleton — who is nominated five times at the CMA Awards on Nov. 14 — posted a series of photos from the concert on Instagram but did not address his special announcement.
Chris and Morgane, who wed in 2007, are already parents to three sons and one daughter but have chosen not to publicly reveal their names.

This isn’t the first time that Chris has announced his baby news during a concert. Last year, the country singer shared that his wife was expecting twins during a performance in Dallas at Starplex Pavillion.
“She’s the mother of my two kids, and she’s about to be the mother of two more,” he said.
Morgane also shared the news of their little ones on the way in an Instagram post marking the spouses’ tenth wedding anniversary.
“14 years, 2 babies, & 2 more on the way. Happy 10 year anniversary babe! You make my whole world go round,” the expectant mother captioned a black-and-white portrait of the couple.
After the boys were born in April, Chris gave Reba McEntire the honors of announcing their arrival when he won album of the year at the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards, which he was unable to attend.
“Those little rascals came a little bit early,” McEntire said, adding that Stapleton and his wife were home in Nashville with their new babies. “Hot off the press! … Twin boys.”
Chris later wrote on Instagram, “Thank you for sharing our good news @Reba! We couldn’t have dreamed up a better day. Morgane & the boys are doing great & we appreciate everyone’s support!”

A day after the public announcement, Morgane shared a sweet black-and-white photo to Instagram of her newest additions, who arrived more than a month early, and thanked the hospital staff for taking care of their boys.
“Thank you for all the love! We’re so grateful to finally be home with our sweet family. We would like to say a special thank you to all the incredible nurses & doctors at Centennial Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Nashville,” she wrote.
“At more than a month early, we had a week-long stay in the NICU & the incredible people there kept our boys healthy & happy,” she continued. “Words cannot express our gratitude for you all & what you did for our family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!”
The star, who died on Sept. 7 at age 26, was remembered by many of his famous friends and former collaborators including Action Bronson, Anderson.Paak, Chance the Rapper, Dylan Reynolds, Domo Genesis, Earl Sweatshirt, J.I.D, John Mayer, Miguel, Njomza, ScHoolboy Q, SZA, Thundercat, Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign and Vince Staples.
The tribute began with a collection of videos of Miller from his childhood, which highlighted his strong passion for music that began before he could even walk.
Following the performances of J.I.D, Njomza and Action Bronson, the audience’s attention was directed at a screen, which projected a series of shoutouts from Pusha T, Pharrell, Lil Wayne, A$AP Ferg and Tyler the Creator, who specifically recalled a time when Miller was the only person to laugh at his jokes.
Shortly after, John Mayer, 41, performed Miller’s “Small Worlds” from his fifth and final album Swimming.
Zane Lowe later took the stage asking the crowd to take a moment of silence for the victims of the Pittsburgh Synagogue Massacre in which 11 were shot to death while celebrating Shabbat.
He then delivered a heartwarming speech about Miller and how he always said, “If you wanna know me the best chance is to listen to my music.”
Travis Scott, 26, concluded the show and as the lights went down, Miller himself, from a previous recording, was heard thanking everyone for coming.
The show also allowed viewers the ability to donate to The Mac Miller Circles Fund (MMCF) to support youth arts & community-building programs in Miller’s memory.
“The support we’ve experienced is evident in this amazing line-up and is a testament to Malcolm’s incredible life,” Miller’s mother, Karen Meyers, said in a statement. “His father, brother and I are beyond thankful to everyone who is working to make this concert happen along with every fan and every friend for continuing to support Malcolm and his vision. He was a caring, loving human with a smile that could light up the sky and a soul that was out to make the world a kinder place and the MMCF will continue to do just that.”
Miller, born Malcolm James McCormick, was found dead in his Studio City, California, home on Sept. 7. A source told PEOPLE that Miller went into cardiac arrest after an apparent drug overdose.
“He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans,” his family said in a statement to PEOPLE at the time.
The L.A. event comes seven weeks after hundreds of fans mourned the rapper’s death at his Pittsburgh hometown’s Frick Park Blue Slide playground, which was the favorite childhood hangout Miller named his 2011 debut album after.
On Saturday, after the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting that killed 11 people and injured six others, a rally that Trump spoke at played Williams’ upbeat hit “Happy.” The musician and producer sent him a cease and desist letter as a result, USA Today reported.
“On the day of the mass murder of 11 human beings at the hands of a deranged ‘nationalist,’ you played his song ‘Happy’ to a crowd at a political event in Indiana,” wrote Howard King, Williams’ lawyer, according to USA Today.
“There was nothing ‘happy’ about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose,” the letter continued. “Demand is hereby made that you cease and desist from any further unauthorized use of Pharrell Williams’ music.”
In August, Steven Tyler sent Trump his own cease and desist letter after Trump used Aerosmith’s “Livin’ on the Edge” at a campaign event in Charleston, West Virginia. “I do not let anyone use my songs without my permission,” Tyler said in a statement. “My music is for causes not political campaigns or rallies.”
At the Future Farmers of America convention on Saturday, Trump joked that he had considered canceling that appearance because of his hair.

“By the way, somebody just said, ‘Your hair looks different today,'” Trump said. “I said, ‘Well, I was standing under the wing of Air Force One doing a news conference early this morning, a very unfortunate news conference. And the wind was blowing and the rain, and I was soaking wet, and that’s what I ended up with today.'”
“I said, ‘Maybe I should cancel this arrangement because I have a bad hair day,’” Trump continued.
“Ariana is doing well,” the former Big Brother star, 35, told Entertainment Tonight at Bette Midler‘s Hulaween party on Monday. “She’s working really hard, getting prepped for tour … and another album. Like, it’s too much! Lots of stuff is going on.”
The “No Tears Left to Cry” singer, 25, is leaning on family after she and Davidson called it quits in October and after her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller died in September. “We just had a game night together the other night,” Frankie shared with ET. “It was me, Mommy and Nonna, and we just had a great time. Mommy won.”
Earlier in October, Frankie offered a message of encouragement for his sister on his Instagram story following the split. “Good morning to my beautiful, beautiful sister. I love you so much and you’re with me right now in Iceland. Listen!” he said, launching into the chorus of Ariana’s song “Breathin’.”
“You know, you gotta keep on breathin’ — that’s true,” he continued.
Sources told PEOPLE that Ariana’s and Davidson’s inner circles were “relieved” that they called off the wedding.

“She threw herself into the relationship with Pete. She is young, but at least mature enough to realize this wasn’t the right relationship or the right time to get married,” an insider said.
“ always thought the engagement to Pete happened way too quickly,” the insider noted. “They didn’t want her to get married to Pete. And Ariana never got to the wedding planning stage. It was all way too soon.”
“I’m just so happy she’s so happy,” he added. “It’s such a wonderful thing. We have so much to celebrate right now. Of course, the wedding and the engagement is part of that.”
Ariana Grande has made her triumphant return to the stage.
On Monday night, NBC aired A Very Wicked Halloween: Celebrating 15 Years on Broadway. As part of the pre-taped special, Grande, 25, performed a very impressive rendition of “The Wizard and I” in front of many of the musical’s biggest fans.
The performance marked Grande’s first time back on the stage since her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller died of an apparent overdose in September and she and ex-fianceé Pete Davidson called off their engagement in mid-October.
Wearing a strapless green top, black pants, and her trademark black thigh-high boots, Grande seemed happy and relieved to be back on stage, as she belted the tune while audience members sang along. She also showed off her Elphaba-inspired green sparkly nail polish, lipstick, and eyeshadow.

Grande’s involvement with the anniversary special was not always certain.
A day after her confirmed split from Davidson, 24, the “Successful” singer showed that she was focusing on her work in the wake of their breakup, sharing a photo of her Wicked rehearsal script.
“Honored to be included in the celebration of 15 years of my favorite musical of all time,” Grande captioned the photo, adding, “wouldn’t miss it for the whole universe” alongside a green heart emoji. But hours before the final taping took place, Grande skipped the final dress rehearsal.
She later shared a post to Instagram where she explained that returning to work hasn’t been easy. Still, she was determined not to let anything get in the way of her attending the show’s final taping.
“Can’t believe I almost let my anxiety ruin this for me today!” Grande captioned the since-deleted photo. “Not today Satan! Not tomorrow or the next day either not no more u can suck my big green d— finna sing my heart out and be a big walking vessel of love bye.”
And just last week, Grande opened up to her fans on Twitter and explained that music has helped her cope with the difficult time in her life.
“It fixes everythin ,” she tweeted after a fan commended her passion for music.
“it ain’t work when u love it r u kiddin !” she also wrote on Twitter after a fan praised her hard work. “i’m the luckiest girl in the world to be able to do this s— n express myself n heal this way …. my lifeline tbh thank U for listening n allowing this to be my life”

In late September, it was confirmed that Grande would be living out one of her dreams by joining original Wicked stars Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel as well as the musical’s current Broadway company and the Pentatonix for NBC’s celebration of the show’s 15th anniversary, A Very Wicked Halloween: Celebrating 15 Years on Broadway.
“One of my dream roles is to play Elphaba,” Grande once gushed in an episode of Carpool Karaoke: The Series, in which she sang “What Is This Feeling” with Seth McFarlane. “I would do it tomorrow. I’d cancel my whole s—. That’s my dream.”
Grande is an alum of both Broadway and NBC televised live musicals, having starred in Jason Robert Brown’s 13 on stage back in 2008 and Hairspray Live! in 2016.
Cardi, 26, called out Minaj, 35, in 10 separate expletive-filled Instagram videos posted on Monday, just hours after Minaj spoke on their ongoing conflict in the latest episode of her Queen Radio show on Apple Music’s Beats 1.
The mother of one certainly did not hold back as she discussed the aftermath of their NYFW fight, showed a screenshot of the pair’s call log and even revealed that she was considering suing Minaj for “defamation of character.”
“How you say that I was the wild animal, that I attacked you, that you was mortified, that you was humiliated, playing the victim but now you the gangsta. You need to pick a side,” Cardi said in response to Minaj’s radio episode, in which she explained that her friend Rah Ali “really, really beat Cardi’s ass bad” during the Sept. 7 brawl.
“Do you want to be the victim or do you want to be the gangsta. You lie so much, you can’t even keep up with your f—— lies,” Cardi added in the first of 10 clips.
Among the “lies” Cardi was referring to was the claim that she “built her career of sympathy and Payola,” which is the practice of paying radio stations to play a song. “Since you want to talk about suing, maybe I should sue you for defamation of character since you want to claim that I’m using something illegal called Payola for being so f—— successful,” Cardi said in the fourth of 10 videos.
In addition, Cardi’s response posts contained screen grabs of her attempts to call Minaj. Showing a screenshot of her call log, Cardi even revealed Minaj’s phone number along with the text messages from friends after her own phone number was leaked, allegedly by Minaj’s camp.
“Let’s talk about the leaked numbers s—. Tell me if this don’t make sense: How come my phone number got leaked one hour after the altercation at the Harper’s Bazaar party?” Cardi said in her fifth of ten videos, referring to the NYFW fight.

Cardi’s sister Hennessy Carolina recently claimed in a since-deleted Instagram post that Minaj leaked the “I Like It” rapper’s phone number, which led to threatening messages about baby Kulture. “After my sister showed those text messages, look what you do. You go on Twitter and start liking s—, endorsing that type of nasty ass f—— behavior. Bitch you’re f—— sick in the head,” Cardi said in the sixth video.
In her ninth video response, Cardi spoke of the comments Minaj made about putting their feud to rest.
“You say you’re tired of talking about it. I’m tired of talking about it too. I’m tired of the whole internet s—. I’m tired of the interview s—. If you really want to talk about it, you know where to link me, we could always link up,” she said.
However, Cardi also warned: “We can talk about it or we can fight it out. I’m with whatever. But I’m sick and tired of that back and forth s—. I’m not doing it. I’m in a good space right now. Let me know what’s up.”
Last but not least, Cardi gave Minaj some advice.
“What you need to do is stop focusing on other people and focus on yourself and focus on your craft because you’re out here f—— up your legacy, looking like a f—— hater,” she said in her tenth video.
Cardi and Minaj’s exchange on Monday, comes seven weeks after videos of the Sept. 7 incident were posted online. One clip showed Cardi charging at someone. In a different video, Cardi can be heard screaming “say some s— about my daughter again.”
“Cardi walked towards Nicki and all of a sudden Cardi started screaming something about her child,” a source told PEOPLE. “She was yelling, ‘Bitch you feisty. Bitch don’t talk s— about my child’ at Nicki.”
The source also revealed Cardi “threw her shoe because she couldn’t get through” to Minaj who “was there with eight or nine bodyguards.”
On Thursday, the mom-of-two, 32, posted a photo of her 5-month-old hitting a major milestone as he fed himself with a spoon.
The couple’s celebrity friends were also taken aback at how similar the father-son duo looked, with several stars commenting on Teigen’s post, first captured by the Instagram account Comments by Celebs.
“That looks like you face swapped John onto a baby!” wrote late-night host Trevor Noah.
Since Teigen and Legend, 39, welcomed Miles into the world on May 16, the Internet has been stunned at the baby’s resemblance to the singer — and the parents know it too!
Earlier this month, Teigen shared a photo on Instagram of her son laying on his belly and captioned the shot, “Tummy time for my mini John!!!” She also added the cute hashtag of “#MILEStones.”
Legend joined in on the fun by posting a selfie with his son in a bow-tie and suspenders in September. The singer also shared a side-by-side photo of himself as a baby alongside Miles to really let their similar appearance sink in.

Legend previously explained how caring for a newborn was a major parenthood adjustment for the couple.
“A lot of it’s just the nuts and bolts of making sure Miles is fed. Making sure he sleeps well. Making sure we burp him. Making sure we change his diaper. It’s just the practical everyday things of being a parent, and so we’re immersed in that time in his life right now,” the “All of Me” singer revealed.
The couple’s two-year-old daughter Luna Simone is also adjusting well to life as a big sister, dad added. Legend told PEOPLE, “She tries to play with him. She takes care of him too. She’ll feed him. She’ll pat his little head. She’s very loving with him.”

Though the couple seems to have their hands full with two kids — and Legend recently revealed he would like to have a third baby — the pair just announced that they would be starring in their own Christmas special, titled A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy.
The hour-long program will largely revolve around the 10-time Grammy winner performing songs from his upcoming album, A Legendary Christmas, available Oct. 26, and hopefully, include lots of jokes from his cookbook author wife.
According to Today, the couple’s family and friends will also take the stage at certain points, as well as some other “well-known entertainers, who’ll be revealed closer to the special’s date.”
A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy will air Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Tyler the Creator was involved in a nearly fatal car accident Wednesday night.
The following morning, the 27-year-old rapper opened up about the crash, in which he totaled his new Tesla as a result of falling asleep at the wheel.
“My big doopy ass usually go to sleep 10:30 (i wake up at 7 er morn) and guess who wanted to finish music super late and dosed off for a few seconds while driving home, im a dumb ass bitch but lil mama don’t have a scratch im lucky,” Tyler wrote over a selfie of himself posted to his Instagram Stories.
“I calmly jumped out the back and called the people. thanks elon for the excessive airbags u a qt. good day sir,” Tyler added in reference to Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
According to TMZ, Tyler rammed his Tesla Model X into a parked car near UCLA’s campus. The impact was reportedly so strong that the parked car, a Honda CR-V was flung 50 feet down the road.
Tyler left his information for the Honda owner. TMZ also reported that no arrests have been made.
Before addressing the crash, Tyler released a cover of the classic Christmas carol, “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”
It’s part of the soundtrack for the new Illumination film Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch, which hits theaters Nov. 9. Tyler, the Creator is featured on multiple songs on the soundtrack from both a production and vocal standpoint.
The original version of the tune was, of course, sung by Thurl Ravenscroft for the 1966 television animated film.
Kelly Rowland wants everyone to know she does not bleach her skin.
Rowland, 37, was hit with several comments suggesting she bleaches her skin after sharing images from a recent photo shoot on Instagram Wednesday.
Taken aback by the accusations, the former Destiny’s Child member fired back at trolls on her Instagram Stories saying, “I never answer questions like this because I think it’s so stupid.
“I am not the one to bleach my skin, nor do I want to bleach my skin, nor do I have to bleach my skin I don’t even think that— it’s not for me,” Rowland continued in the video, which has since been deleted but picked up by several fan accounts.
“Don’t go saying stupid stuff like that,” Rowland said. “You ever thought that it could be the lighting? I am still chocolate, forever chocolate, proud to be chocolate, shoutout to all my chocolate girls.”
In addition to being proud of the skin she’s in, Rowland said she’s confident in herself, overall.
“My son makes me feel confident,” the “Motivation” singer explained in a catch-up conversation in honor of her joining TJ Maxx’s Maxx You Project. “He’s just amazing. I’m like, ‘I did that right.'”
Rowland and her husband Tim Weatherspoon welcomed their son Titan in November 2014.
“He came at the most interesting time of my life and I had no choice but to be strong. I want him to be better than me, it’s just that simple. So I always like to make sure I’m doing right by him,” she added.
Sinead O’Connor has a new religion — and a new name.
Last week, the “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer, revealed on Twitter that she had converted to Islam.
“This is to announce that I am proud to have become a Muslim,” O’Connor wrote on Oct. 19, explaining that her new faith “is the natural conclusion of any intelligent theologian’s journey.”
“All scripture leads to Islam. Which makes all other scriptures redundant,” she added, before revealing she would henceforth be known by a new name. “I will be given (another) new name. It will be Shudada’. ”
In addition to changing her name on her Twitter page, the singer also replaced her profile picture with a photo that reads “Wear a hijab just do it” alongside the Nike swoosh logo. Additionally, her Twitter bio now reads, “PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IF YOU POST RACIST OR ANTI MUSLIM RHETORIC ON THIS PAGE YOU WILL BE BLOCKED.”
Shuhada means “martyrs” in Arabic, according to the Daily Mail.
One day later, the Irish singer shared that she had been given her first hijab, writing that she wouldn’t be sharing a photo because it’s “intensely personal,” before humorously adding that there was a second reason she wouldn’t be posting a photo.
“I’m an ugly old hag,” she wrote. “But I’m a very, very, very happy old hag.”

Over the next couple of days, the Irish singer went on to share a number of photos of herself wearing a head covering, simply writing that she was “happy.”
In one of the images, she stood in front of a sign that read: “You have taken my body, you have taken my mind, you have taken my children but you will never take my voice.”

Practicing her Arabic skills, she went on to post an emotional video as she sang the Azan, a call to worship, for the first time.
Apologizing for her pronunciation mistakes, she explained that “emotions took me from my page…but they’ll be hundreds of others onstage to come.”

The musician was ordained as a priest in 1999 in a dissident Roman Catholic group.
She has previously spoken out against the abuses of the Catholic Church, even ripping up a photo of Pope John Paul II during a Saturday Night Live appearance in 1992.
On Monday, the “No Tears Left to Cry” singer, 25, posted a video to her Instagram Stories of her ex-boyfriend getting ready on Oscars night, almost two months after he died of an apparent overdose at the age of 26.
In the video, Miller — standing alongside who appears to be Grande’s mom, Joan, and her grandmother, Nonna — gets his tuxedo jacket sleeve fixed, while he stands in front of the television and watches an Elton John interview.
“I should’ve worn that for the night,” Miller says, referencing the singer’s burgundy coat, pink diamond-studded sunglasses, and colorful pendant.
After making the comment, he turns towards Grande and laughs when he realizes she was recording the sweet moment.
Choosing to let the video do the talking — which also features Miller’s dog Myron sitting in front of the late rapper — Grande did not add a caption and instead, simply added a heart over Miller’s left arm.
On the night that the video was taken, Miller and Grande attended Madonna’s private Oscars afterparty together.
Stepping out hand-in-hand on March 4, 2017, the rapper wore a classic black and white tuxedo, while Grande went with a black dress and thigh-high boots. It was the last time the former couple was seen together in public before they announced their split in May.
Grande has previously posted several tributes to her ex since his sudden death on Sept. 7. Breaking her silence on Miller’s death, the singer posted a black-and-white photograph of the rapper on Instagram on Sept. 8.
A few days later, Grande shared a video of herself and Miller laughing together with the caption, “I adored you from the day I met you when i was nineteen and I always will.”
“I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this. so many times. I’m so mad, I’m so sad I don’t know what to do,” Grande continued. “You were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else.”
“I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away,” she added. “I really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. Rest.”
While Grande recently dove head-first into work after calling off her months-long engagement to Davidson, the split — along with coping with Miller’s death — has taken its toll on her.

Just last week, Grande revealed she planned to take an Internet hiatus following her newly single status. The video of Miller was one of her first posts since returning.
“It’s very sad and we’re all tryin very hard to keep going. love u. and thank u for bein here always,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram Story.
“I think being with a man like Kanye, you have to learn how to be a little bit not-so-independent,” the Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality star, 38, said during her appearance on the Alec Baldwin Show Sunday.
“I’ve always been so independent and working, and schedule, and when you get married and have a husband that has their career and then have kids, your independence … you have to let it go,” Kardashian West said, adding, “I had to learn that being with a man like Kanye.”
“I let be who he wants to be. I let him have his own views and opinions, even if they’re different than mine,” Kardashian West told host Alec Baldwin.
“I think it’s just having an open mind. I love to let my husband be who he is,” the KKW Beauty mogul said. “We definitely have conversations if I don’t understand something in private and talk about that.”
“I grew up in a household where Bruce, my stepdad, had one political view and maybe my real father had a different political view, or my mom,” she said. “We would just always talk about it and be really open about it. It was always okay to have different views.”
West has never been afraid to speak about his political stance, both on record and off, as evident by his lyrics. Though her husband has incorporated politics in his career, Kardashian West revealed that she is more cautious.
“As far as when it comes to my business, to me it’s all very separate,” she told Baldwin.
Numerous sources recently told PEOPLE that West’s behavior takes a toll on his wife. But the mother of three does not shy away from making her feelings known to her husband.
“She lets him take the lead, and she never disagrees with him publicly,” one insider said. “She has decided that’s the right move, but she isn’t scared to share her disagreements with him behind closed doors… Don’t think that she’s afraid of him, because she’s not. She’s just managing him the best she can.”
In recent weeks, West gave a pro-Trump rant after appearing as the Saturday Night Live musical guest and called first for abolishing and then for amending the 13th Amendment. In addition, he spoke about his mental health, his fondness for the Make America Great Again hat, Hillary Clinton and the Kardashians during his lengthy conversation with the president when he visited the White House.
“Kim finds Kanye brilliant, so it makes her upset when he goes on these public rants and come across as someone who isn’t well. It’s stressful for her,” a separate source said.
Nine days after the storm wreaked havoc along the coast, the 42-year-old country crooner’s mother LeClaire returned with friends to salvage what she could from her home in the hard-hit Mexico Beach area.
Little of the building withstood the winds of the hurricane and as LeClaire, taking photos, overlooked her debris-covered yard and other obliterated homes the mother of the “Most People Are Good” singer became too overwhelmed, breaking down in tears.
Leaning against the back of a gator vehicle, LeClaire was consoled by Florida resident James Whiddon.
The music legend’s mom later invited a photographer inside her home as she tried to find any of her possessions which had survived Michael’s fury.
To her dismay, most of her home was completely wiped out, despite her attempt to protect it by boarding her windows with plywood.
Paintings and artwork were stripped from the walls, cabinets were left flung open and piles of damaged furniture crowded the hallways making it nearly impossible to walk through.
As LeClaire sifted through what was left she made a heartbreaking discovery. On the floor, laid a shattered frame of her son’s 2009 hit “Rain is a Good Thing”— Luke’s first number one hit on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
On the day Hurricane Michael hit land, Luke asked his followers on Twitter to keep his family and the residents of Florida in their prayers.
“Hey everyone. Pray for my people. So many dear people I know are being affected. My mother and so many friends live in Mexico beach. And not it’s bearing down on Albany and Leesburg.”
Luke did not respond to PEOPLE’s request to comment further.
Mexico Beach Mayor Al Cathey told ABC News that 289 people — including 10 children — decided to remain in the city despite evacuation orders as the state prepared for the devastating storm. Both Cathey and a city clerk told the site that 46 of those who remained were still missing on Oct 14.
“If we lose only one life, to me that’s going to be a miracle,” Cathey told the Associated Press, noting that he was hopeful about the fates of the missing.

The city was “wiped out” after the storm made landfall packing 155 mph winds.
Following the storm, at least 18 people were confirmed dead, including three in North Carolina, eight in Florida, six in Virginia and one in Georgia, according to the Weather Channel. Among the 18, one confirmed death has been reported in Mexico Beach, according to ABC.
The death toll has now risen to 36, according to the Weather Channel as of this past weekend.
There’s nothing “Hot N Cold” about this relationship!
“He is ready to settle down with Katy,” the Bloom source says of the pair, who just attended the amfAR Gala together in L.A. on Thursday.
“She hasn’t put any pressure on their relationship lately, and everything is just easy. Being with Katy makes Orlando very happy,” the source adds. “In the past, he seemed so scattered and unwilling to settle down. He is like a new person now and everyone is excited for him.”
After dating for a year, the actor, 41, and pop star, 33, called it quits in 2017 before rekindling their romance earlier this year.
“Orlando is in a different place than he was last year,” the Bloom source says. “He has matured a lot. He realized that being single isn’t that great after all. His relationship with Katy wasn’t right the first time around, but it very much is now.”
The “Chained to the Rhythm” singer and Lord of the Rings alum were first linked in 2016 after they were spotted getting cozy at a Golden Globes afterparty. They announced their split a year later in February 2017, when their reps told PEOPLE they’d be “taking respectful, loving space.”
And a source recently told PEOPLE the couple may be ready to get engaged.
“Orlando doesn’t have a ring yet but has been talking about the future,” a source close to the actor said earlier this month. “Everyone would be excited if they got engaged. Katy is wonderful!”
Katherine Heigl has some fiery dance moves.
The Suits star, 39, spent a few days at her Utah home this past weekend with her husband Josh Kelley and their three kids, Joshua Bishop, 1½, Adalaide Marie Hope, 6, and Naleigh Mi-Eun, 9½. To celebrate, she and the musician, 38, danced to U2‘s “Where the Streets Have No Name” on the border of their outdoor fire pit.
Heigl posted two videos of the silly moments on Instagram, showing epic views of rolling mountains in the background and also a laughing Naleigh and Adalaide riding her bike.
The Grey’s Anatomy alum giggled hysterically as Kelley danced in his cowboy boots and hat, and when the roles reversed, a laughing Kelley warned his casually clothed wife, “Don’t catch your jammies on fire!”
“Back home with my kiddos and my man for a few days in Utah. Thought a #U2 fireside dance was in order. Just another Friday night at the Kelley Casa … #thoseheavenlydays are effortless every once in awhile,” she wrote on Instagram, adding, “#magicmikewatchout.”

Family time is important for the mother of three, but technology can make it hard to prioritize, the actress shared in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE back in July.
“The girls are really into iPads. It’s not good. I need to curtail it, though I have to say, so much of that use is reading,” she said. “They’re reading, they’re playing educational games. I don’t allow them to scroll through YouTube videos and stuff; I put some limits on that.”
“But not as mind-numbing as we all are afraid it is,” she emphasized before recounting one recent incident that put the situation in perspective. Heigl’s daughters and teenage niece Madison were sitting around the living room, engrossed in their devices.
“I was like, ‘None of us are connecting or communicating,’” she recalled. “And then I went, ‘Oh, wait a minute — Naleigh and Madison are playing Words With Friends against each other, so essentially they’re playing Scrabble, just without the board on the table. Adalaide is coloring on her iPad, Josh is reading the news and I’m reading a book.”

She continued: “We’re all doing things that we would be doing to entertain ourselves, we’re just doing them differently than we did them 20 years ago,” the 27 Dresses star pointed out. “It’s okay. It’s not the end of civilization as we know it, I promise.”
Heigl added that she doesn’t allow devices at the dinner table (“because we do need to talk to one another, too, and make eye contact”), encourages trips to a local bookstore the family loves and requires the girls to charge their devices outside their rooms at night.
Ariana Grande is heading uptown!
On Saturday, the “God Is a Woman” singer, 25, was spotted enjoying some time away from the Big Apple with her mother, Joan Grande, as well as some friends.
Grande sported a low-key ensemble for the outing, opting for an oversized grey sweatshirt, a pair of green leggings and white sneakers.
The pop star was also spotted without her signature ponytail, choosing to tie her locks back in a neat bun.
Saturday marked a big day for Davidson, as the comedian made his first public appearance since the pair’s split at a comedy benefit in West Hollywood, California.
Although he didn’t mention Grande by name at the start of his 45 minute-long set, everybody in the crowd likely understood why he began by announcing, “As you could tell, I don’t want to be here.”
“There’s a lot going on,” he added, before jokingly alluding to his breakup by asking the crowd, “Does anybody have any open rooms? Looking for a roommate?”
Davidson also admitted that since their split he’d “been covering a bunch of tattoos.”
“I’m f— zero for two in the tattoo ,” he remarked, likely referencing the fact that before his relationship with Grande, he got ex-girlfriend Cazzie David’s face inked on his arm. That tattoo has since been covered.
In Grande’s first appearance following their split, the singer was seen covering up a finger tattoo of Davidson’s first name with a Band-Aid.

While Grande dove head-first into work after calling off her months-long engagement to Davidson, the split has taken its toll on her.
“She’s staying strong and focusing on work right now, but her friends and family are definitely worried about her,” a source recently told PEOPLE.
Two days after their breakup was confirmed, Grande returned to work, performing “The Wizard and I” during the final taping of Wicked’s 15th-anniversary special, which will air on NBC later this month. At the event, which also marked her first public appearance post-split, the pop star was without her 3-carat, $93,000 engagement ring.
“Ariana’s been through a lot and emotionally things have been so up and down for her this year,” the source said adding that the demise of their engagement has “been really hard for both of them.”
Country superstar Carrie Underwood had a whole new gig on Saturday: soccer mom.
The 35-year-old singer shared a smiley Instagram selfie, which she snapped from the field where she was cheering on 3½-year-old son Isaiah Michael’s game.
“Officially a soccer mom this morning!” she captioned the photo, adding that she was “staying warm” from the “chilly” temperatures by wearing clothing from her own fitness line, CALIA by Carrie.
As for the game itself, Isaiah played well — even if he wasn’t always focused on winning.
“The kids played a good game!” Underwood explained. “Isaiah scored two goals for his team…and one for the other team . Hey, a goal’s a goal! ”
Underwood will be spending even more time with Isaiah over the next few months. She’s currently pregnant with her second child with husband Mike Fisher, 38, and has postponed her Cry Pretty Tour until May, after she’s scheduled to give birth.
She and Fisher recently celebrated eight years of marriage. The musician and former Nashville Predators star said “I do” in July 2010 at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia — and announced they were pregnant with baby No. 2 back in August. While accepting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September, Underwood sent love to both Fisher and Isaiah.
“I met an incredible man, Mike, who thinks I’m so much better than I actually am. Thank you for believing in me as a human, as a wife, as a mom, and supporting me through all of this,” Underwood said. “He believes in me and we had another little man who believes in me too. Isaiah Michael, I love you so much. You’re the best thing we ever did. I love you and I believe you,” she said, facing her husband and son.
It’s been a busy year for Underwood. In addition to getting her Hollywood star, Underwood released her latest album, Cry Pretty, in September. She’s scheduled to host the CMA Awards alongside Brad Paisley for her 11th time in November.
Last November, a few days after hosting the CMA Awards, Underwood tripped on the steps outside of her Nashville home while taking her dogs out and suffered “multiple injuries.” The accident left the singer needing over 40 stitches in her face and surgery on her broken wrist.
After the fall, Underwood stayed out of the spotlight to recover from her injuries, before making a comeback in April at the ACM Awards, where she received a standing ovation from the crowd for her performance. Since then, she’s proudly displayed her battle scars, telling Redbook that the accident has helped her learn a valuable lesson that she believes young women struggling with body confidence could relate to.
“The first thing I would tell them is that we’re all insecure; that’s just called being human,” she told the magazine. “I feel like the most important thing to realize is that even people who seem to be superconfident have insecurities that they are dealing with.”
She added, “Honestly, you just do the best you can. Don’t worry about things you can’t change.”
Meanwhile, back in April, the American Idol season 4 winner dished to PEOPLE about striking the balance between work and family life, saying the couple’s “whole life has changed” since welcoming Isaiah.
“I remember when we first found out we were gonna have him it like, ‘How are we gonna do this? Our lives are so crazy as it is,’ ” said Underwood at the time.
“But you just make room and you learn how important that family time is, and to be able to spend time and carve out some of that and maybe get to go on vacation and maybe get to go on a cruise — that stuff is so important to, like I said, make time for family,” she added. “That’s what it’s all about.”
However, the 26-year-old “Bodak Yellow” rapper revealed she still has some things she’d like to work on. “Ladies how do you guys get rid of the black line in the middle of your stomach after giving birth?? cause bitch,” Cardi wrote on Instagram Friday, along with a photo of herself in a black tracksuit, which bared her toned abs.
In the image, a dark line can be seen both above and below her belly button. According to American Pregnancy Association, the line is called the pregnancy line and is usually caused by the changing hormones or the imbalance of hormones.
The line is quite common and usually fades away on its own shortly after the baby is born.

Since welcoming her daughter in July, Cardi has been candid about how much her body has changed.
During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Cardi said Kulture “broke my vagina.”
Kimmel, 50, replied, “That’s a rude thing for her to do. I was always worried about falling on stepping on a crack and breaking my mother’s back.”
“Why nobody tells you about those things? Nobody told me they were gonna stitch my vagina,” Cardi lamented. “People just be like, ‘Oh, you know, when you give birth, it’s gonna hurt.’ But nobody tells you .”
Even though the birthing process was harder than she expected, Cardi is embracing motherhood.
“Yes, I am enjoying it. It’s the best,” she said. “It’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, I should have had you when I was a teenager. This is what I was missing my whole life? I love you.’ “
Stephanie Grisham, Mrs. Trump’s director of communications, posted on Twitter Saturday calling the video “disgusting.” She added, “How is this acceptable? … #BoycottT.I.” and tagged the rapper, 38, in the tweet.
Asked for further comment, Grisham told PEOPLE on Tuesday: “Like it or not, she is the first lady and this is the White House. It’s disrespectful and disgusting to portray her this way simply because of politics. These kinds of vulgar attacks only further the divisiveness and bias in our country — it needs to stop.”
T.I., who is an outspoken critic of Melania’s husband, President Donald Trump, dropped an NSFW clip on Friday on his social media accounts, which mocks Kanye West‘s meeting last week with the commander in chief, 72.

After watching the president fly away on his helicopter, T.I. then stands behind POTUS’ desk watching a woman enter the room.
Soon she strips off her green jacket — a replica of the real Mrs. Trump’s “I Really Don’t Care, Do U?” trench — and stands naked on the desk, stroking T.I.’s tie. They later leave together and are seen spray painting over Trump’s portrait and trashing the White House.

“Dear 45, I ain’t Kanye,” T.I. captioned the minute-long video, which is a promo for his new album, Dime Trap.
Friday’s post came a day after T.I. shared a long rant against West following the 41-year-old Yeezy owner’s bizarre meeting with the president.
“All I can say is… I’ve reached my limits,” T.I. wrote. “This is my stop, I’m officially DONE!!!! Trump & his Lil Cookie Boy.”

“At one time it was a pleasure to work alongside you…” T.I. added of his former collaborator, who is a vocal Trump supporter. “Now, I’m ashamed to have ever been associated with you.”
“Don’t follow this puppet,” T.I. continued. “Because as long as I’ve lived I’ve learned that it benefits a man nothing at all to gain the world, if to do so he must lose his soul. We just saw Mr. West’s Soul on auction. If you listen closely you can hear the tears of our ancestors hit the floor.”
“Someone that I am very close to could not be here today because of things that she is going through,” he said, without providing specifics. “She couldn’t be here today, and while I was frustrated, being a manager, my wife, being who she always is, said to me, ‘She needs this time.’ ”
“If people are just here to see her sing and not be here for the cancer foundation, I don’t want them here anyway,” he added.
Grande, 25, was supposed to sing a duet from the hit musical Wicked with original cast member Kristin Chenoweth, as a special gift to Braun’s wife Yael, who founded the organization in 2009 after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Just one day later, PEOPLE confirmed that Grande and the Saturday Night Live star, 24, had called it quits.
“It was way too much too soon,” a Grande source tells PEOPLE. “It’s not shocking to anyone.”
The pair decided to end their engagement over the weekend, TMZ first reported on Sunday.
A rep for Grande did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment, and Davidson’s rep had no comment.

The couple’s split comes after Grande has endured a difficult few weeks as she came to terms with the loss of former boyfriend Mac Miller, who died from an apparent drug overdose on Sept. 7. After venting about her emotional exhaustion to her Twitter followers, the star took some much-needed time off.
“Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend,” her team told PEOPLE in September. “She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding.”
Thankfully, the rest has her on the mend. “I’m feeling sm better lately and this music is sick,” she recently told a fan on Twitter. “I’m so happy i love you.”
Cardi B got a big surprise on Friday night — and her stomach wasn’t happy about it!
After returning home from a surprise 26th birthday bash at Beauty & Essex, the “I Like It” rapper shared that she felt both very grateful — and very hungry.
“Hubbs told me that he was gonna take me out to dinner and I appreciate the surprise birthday party and all that but I’m f— hungry right now,” she said in a video posted on her Instagram Story, referring to her husband Offset, also 26.
“I’m hungry, but I’m so happy,” she added.
Earlier that night, Cardi shared a glimpse of the colorful outfit she thought she’d wear to a dinner. In the short clip, the emcee sat down and extended her legs, highlighting a pair of Moschino tights featuring a childlike scribble down the front.
To match her whimsical tights, she wore a bold pink dress and hat that also appeared in Moschino’s spring 2019 collection.
Clearly getting the colorful memo, Offset wore a pair of bright green pants and a jacket covered with green and yellow flames.
After getting some shut-eye, the rapper shared a video on Saturday of the sweet moment when she realized her husband wasn’t taking her on “a romantic dinner.”
“The fact that i avoided eating dinner last night cause babe said we was going to a romantic dinner then BOOM!!” she wrote, alongside a video of an entire room shouting “surprise!” after she and Offset arrived at the bash.
“Thank you everybody that showed up to my surprise bday party !It was Soo beautiful,” she added. “Thank you babe for the surprise and everybody who was involved !”

In order to highlight the fact that this was Cardi’s big day, guests were instructed to wear all black so that Cardi would be the only one wearing color. In an extra special touch, the party also featured a 12-foot LED wall on which different images of Cardi played on loop.
While posing together at the bash, which was presented by CÎROC Black Raspberry, Cardi was all smiles as she cuddled up with her husband. In the sweet images, the new mother can also be seen carrying a beautiful and incredibly bountiful bouquet of red roses.
During the festivities, guests sipped on specialty CÎROC Black Raspberry cocktails, like “Okurrr” and “Black Rose,” and munched on tuna poke tacos and Wagyu sliders.
Guests at the star-studded bash included Kourtney Kardashian, Larsa Pippen, G-Eazy, Tiffany Haddish, Moschino designer Jeremy Scott and Tyga — as well as Offset’s fellow Migos rappers, Quavo and Takeoff.

Earlier that week, while thanking her fans for all of their sweet birthday messages, Cardi wasn’t too shy to share that she planned on celebrating her big day with a bang — literally.
”I want my husband to f— me 30 different positions. I want that n— to flex me like a New York pretzel,” she said in a cheeky NSFW video posted on Friday.
“I’m dumb happy,” she continued in the video. “I’m 26 years old and I have everything that I ever wanted and I’m so grateful. Thank you Jesus and thank you for all the love.”
Cardi previously celebrated her big day on Thursday at a joint party held for the release of Quavo Huncho, the new album by Offset’s cousin — and Migos bandmate — Quavo.
Her Instagram stories showcased dancing and PDA with her husband — and father to her 3-month-old daughter, Kulture Kiari — at the L.A. bash.
The famous couple arrived at Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport on Friday and later checked into a local lodge with their daughter North.
In images published by TMZ and the Daily Mail, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 37, wears a monochromatic outfit featuring a grey shirt with a matching mini backpack and a pair of form-fitting bike shorts.
Adding a pop of color into his low-key ensemble, the rapper, 41, wore a blue sweatshirt with a purple cap.
Blending her parents’ style, North, 5, was seen in a pair of bright green pants with a matching top.
The couple plans to stay in Africa until Oct. 19, according to TMZ.
Earlier in October, West explained that he had pushed back the release of his album Yandhi in order to record in Africa.
He also remarked that he’d like to “have my kids in the studio and have my mic in the open so we can hear nature while we’re recording.”
Photos and videos shared on the popular Instagram account Team Kanye Daily indicate that the rapper has already set up a studio to finish recording the album, which is slated to be released on Nov. 23.

In the weeks leading up the famous family’s trip, West went on a number of public rants that have raised eyebrows and generated concern for his wellbeing.
“Kim is very uncomfortable and unhappy with the whole situation,” a source previously told PEOPLE about the Kimoji creator, who shares daughters North and Chicago, 8 months, and son Saint, 2½, with West.
“She finds Kanye brilliant, so it makes her upset when he goes on these public rants and come across as someone who isn’t well,” added the source. “All she can do is hope that he calms down mentally soon.”
On Thursday afternoon, during a meeting with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office, West — who avidly supports and voted for the president in the 2016 election — claimed that he was “misdiagnosed” with bipolar disorder. (The rapper also recently revealed that he is “off medication” he had previously been taking to treat the disorder.)
Since West disclosed that he is no longer taking his medication, people in his inner circle have been “telling him that he needs to get back on his medication, that he’s not doing well, that he’s not making any sense,” an insider told PEOPLE earlier in October.
And while the Kardashians have been an unwavering support system to him, the source said that “the entire family is at the end of their ropes, and stuff like this won’t help.”
“They’re trying to help him get things where they should be, and it’s going to be that much harder now,” the source added. “It’s a sad day.”
